My name is Kate Godunov and I’m a student at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am a neuroscience major in the Collegium V honors program and a first generation college student. I currently work as an undergraduate researcher at the NeuroPsychometric Research Lab at UTD and as a Peer Advisor for first-year students. Additionally, I am a first generation Ukrainian-Jewish American with fluency in multiple languages (Russian & Spanish) and I am determined to learn more! When I’m not studying for my next exam, I’m looking for the next adventure! I am an International Baccalaureate Diploma recipient who was heavily involved in school clubs like HOSA - Future Health Professionals, the Korean-Pop club, and the International Baccalaureate Student Organization. Through these activities, I strengthened my passion for healthcare, raised funds for countless charities like Make-a-Wish and the No Kid Hungry Foundation, and helped foster a support system for fellow IB/honors students. Ever since I was a child, I’ve always wanted to help others. Seeing the smile on someone’s face after helping them is such a gratifying feeling. In junior year of high school, I found myself enamored in emergency medicine after joining HOSA and competing in medical events like CPR/First Aid. That’s why I’m pursuing an education and career in the medical field. I want to be able to heal people on a broader scale as an emergency medicine physician. I’m currently on search for scholarships that will get me closer to achieving my goal. Thank you for considering me!
