Hello! My name is Karlie Acosta, and I'm attending Victoria College in Texas. A little something about me is that I come from a middle-class family, so my main long-term goal is to have a high income to help my parents live easier. Other than that, my other goal is to become a good role model for the future generation of girls; as a female in STEM, I have come to realize my field of interest is mostly male-dominated, so I have hopes to one day be recognized as a role model girls could look up to. For my hobbies and passions, I love reading and playing my instruments. I played flute in my local band for seven years and was in Mariachi playing the violin for three years and played the guitarron for half a year. I believe I am a great candidate for scholarships because I know I have enough determination to reach my degree goals and be in a place I'm happy with after I graduate college. I am also a very hard worker, and I knew what I wanted to do by the time I started college. I was on several A Honor Rolls in high school and graduated in the top 11% of my class. I was 30th in high academics out of 200+ students, and I walked the stage with my National Honor Society stole as well as other ropes.
