Words are limited. I learned this quickly as a little girl growing up, surrounded by people who spoke English, and I only Spanish. Coming from Monterrey, Mexico, to the U.S. was a culture shock, but the language barrier was the biggest struggle. While I faced this communication obstacle, my source of expression and passion was art; a channel for me to showcase myself, my interests and culture, in a way words can never communicate on a paper. Painting portraits will always be my favorite form of art because it conveys emotion in a unique manner. As I continued to advance and discover new art techniques, I began to create a small business for custom art, as a way to share my passion and also save for my future academic studies. This entrepreneurial endeavor allowed me to not only believe in my potential, but also foster a work ethic that relied on diligence, determination, and gratitude for every opportunity. My goal and aspiration is to expand my small business for custom paintings to a studio. I hope to advance my experience in digital art so that I can design advertisements, websites, visual marketing for companies. Ultimately, what drives my passion for art is how it uniquely expresses and conveys a language no words can describe- a communication that individually showcases each artist's mind and soul. Because art was once my only form of communication when language was not, I have chosen to pursue this skill of mine for my studies. I strive to create art that can speak to a person's soul, with no words needed to express a message, so that it brings people together when language cannot suffice.
