I don’t have a family member that has been killed in the line of duty, but my late grandfather served as well as both my great grandfathers. Also my cousin is in the line of duty right now. My mom and dad worked very hard so that my brother and I could grow up without any worries. My mom is a teacher, and my father is a tire salesman at a small business. My mom and dad don’t make a lot of money, but they never let me know that growing up. I mean never! As I got older, though, I started to notice that other kids' parents didn’t work two jobs. My mom does tutoring after school, and my dad runs his own vehicle modifications shop. They did and do so much for us. As we got older, we also got more expensive. These last few years have been hard for them, but still they try not to worry me with it. I notice, though, my mom and dad are constantly stressed and tired. Still, they won’t let my brother and me want for anything. This is why I am applying for this scholarship. Thank you for considering me!
