Bio

Hi! My name is Kali, and I am currently 15 and in my senior year with Acellus Academy in their online program:) I enjoy doing theater and learning about history. I also love learning about the state and culture that I live in. Furthermore, I want to go to college to expand my knowledge of the world and what I can do with that knowledge to alter the world in the way of good. I also tend to thrive in a place with lots of social opportunities. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I would also like to show the world that we are strong and united on many diverse fronts. Including proving that everybody deserves an equal chance at a higher education, no matter who we are. Ever since I was a little kid, I always thought that I wouldn't want to go to college. The way it was explained to me, I thought it was this "extra school" place where you only go to get a good job after graduation. It was a requirement, not something anybody would strive to go for. But now, I know that college is a complex system full of opportunities for me to learn how to grow my mind with new knowledge. My dream school is the University of Hawaii at Hilo because it has both the majors and minors I'm looking for and the healthy learning environment that I have been striving for. I will be doing a major in Business Administration as well as a Performing arts minor. I have been accepted to UH Hilo and will be starting in the spring semester of 2025. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!

I am a 15-year-old senior in high school at Acellus Science Academy. I will graduate with honors and somewhere between a 3.7 and a 3.8 overall GPA. I have worked hard to achieve these results and I am very proud of my accomplishments. I plan to attend college in the spring semester of 2025 and I am confident that I will succeed. Having grown up in a low-income family, I have had to learn how to be more resourceful with the support I have received throughout my life. On top of that, I am also an undergraduate student who has been working towards going to university with a double major. Recently, I was accepted to the University of Hawaii at Hilo on the Big Island where I have lived for the past 4 years. I will be starting classes in the 2025 semester. The major that I plan to pursue at UH is Business Administration and Management as well as a minor in Performing Arts. I had to receive grants for over half of my tuition for the first semester of the school year (because I started the school year in the spring, I was only able to receive grants for the 24-25 school year which was just one semester long). Although I have not had to accept any loans if I had to, my SAI of -1500 would have enabled me to attend school for free, and I have a plan not to accept any loans in the future. As a low-income student, I have faced the challenge of balancing work and studies in order to support myself financially. While striving for academic success, I also will have to take on part-time jobs to cover my living expenses and contribute to my education. This has required careful time management and prioritization to ensure that I can excel in both my job and my studies. Despite the challenges, I strive to make sure that I make the most of my time and dedication. I have worked hard to create a schedule that allows me to achieve my goals. I am determined to succeed and will use the resources I have available to ensure that I reach my academic and professional goals. In conclusion, my journey as a low-income student at Acellus Science Academy has been one of perseverance, resourcefulness, and determination. From working towards graduating with honors to being accepted into the University of Hawaii at Hilo, I have defied the odds and overcome challenges. Balancing work, studies, and financial responsibilities has not been easy, but I have managed to create a schedule that allows me to excel in both areas. With my double major in Business Administration and Management, as well as Performing Arts, I am confident that I will achieve my academic and professional goals. I am ready to embark on this new chapter in my life and make the most of the resources available to me.

I have read hundreds of books over the years. Everything from fiction to non-fiction, I have formed connections, connections with the characters that I love. I was just a young girl when I first started reading my first major book series, Harry Potter. I felt a strong pull towards Remus Lupin, a werewolf wizard. Now I am not saying I connect with that part of the character, but instead of his knowledge of the world around him, of how his character changes throughout the series. Of which is made even more complex with some partly fan-written and partly original authors written about the past of Remus and how his character development started from the point of time when he himself was a student at Hogwarts with his friends, James Potter, of which is the father of the main character of the dominating series, Peter Pettigrew, a friend turned traitor who also comes back in the main series working with the evil side of the wizard, popularity known as Lord Voldemort, and Sirius Black, a once-belved criminal who was These books were my first introduction to my now full love of reading. They have influenced me in many ways, everything from the importance of family and friends to expanding my vocabulary for such a young child. Although these books will always have a special place in my heart, parts of the series and its characters have come to light with how the author put her awful worldviews into how she carries herself and how she treated some of the characters that she herself wrote. Her views and beliefs in how she has carried herself on social media with touching on racism and transphobia are the main reasons that this series has been put into a darker light. I do believe in separating the artist from their work, which is why I have chosen to write about this series for this scholarship application. As I have stated, it is an important part of my childhood, and even though I have grown out of it, I do feel the importance of the fact of my growing as a person and as an individual who would list reading as my top hobby. All in all, these books gave me more confidence as a kid, something that I proudly carry all the way into college territory. Specifically Remus Lupin, my all-time favorite character. Thank you for your consideration and your time regarding this scholarship opportunity!

I give back to my community by providing certain services that not everybody else can. For instance, I have a business that provides fresh bakes goods sold near other local businesses to promote more sales for the community. I do school online and I am over a year ahead in school as compared to other students my age. Using online schooling, I can have more time to also do community theatre, some of the shows I have performed in have been non-profit for the community to enjoy and watch for entertainment. In the future, I hope to go to the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I wish to major in Business Marketing and finance. I would like to create and run a company that can give back to the community in more ways than one. I think it would a good resource for people to learn more about certain scenarios in our society. For example, my company could be a place that could transport someone directly to accurate sources of news to help people. This business may also be able to be a place for the community can express their thoughts on how to solve problems. This could include a way for everybody to be heard equally to plan to make our City and State better run and organized than ever before. Now I am not saying this will solve world hunger, but maybe by having a place for people to connect, the people who live here in Hawaii will be better fit to understand and run our state in a matter of working together to provide everybody, especially the youth in our state with the resources to grow their minds to be more informed as they grow up. I wish that when I was younger, I have some way of knowing certain information about how the world works. Now as I grow up, this information is becoming a basic tool for everyday life in society. Especially now that everything is going into technology, having more community input could be good for the future to support the next generations as they grow up in this new and evolving world. This site could include resources to support women, the lgbtqia+ community, people with disabilities and more people to help both them and the people around them to learn and educate themselves on how to better the world from then on out.

When I was really little, in my elementary school library, I first read the Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. It was such a cool and magical book- literally. At that time, my favorite books were Harry Potter, but I still really liked this series. A few weeks later, I was talking more about the books to my mom, and she told me there was also a movie of the books and I was so excited. We ended up watching the movie, and it instantly became my favorite movie. Now, several years later, my favorite movie is still Spiderwick, it feels so nostalgic, but at the same time, I feel like I discover something new about it each time I watch it. I haven't read the books since I was a little kid, but they do still have a part of my heart forever. There are a few differences between the books to the movie, but that is to be expected in book-to-film adaptations. Everything that they do change makes total sense. At this point in time, I have probably seen Spiderwick several dozens of times, and that number will only grow with time. All of my friends have now watched it as well, just because of how highly I speak of it. The actors in the movie have motivated me to also watch other movies and shows that they appear in because I know that the acting is going to suit my preferences. At its very core, "The Spiderwick Chronicles" is a tale of finding out, standing up for oneself, and the unbreakable bonds between siblings. The Grace siblings—Mallory, Jared, and Simon—move to the ramshackle Spiderwick Estate with their mother in pursuit of solace from life's upheavals. What they do not realize is that the estate has secrets beyond their most fantastic imaginations—ones that draw them into a world of goblins, magical books, and a honey-obsessed friend. Certainly, one of the story's strong points is this enormous, well-imagined universe populated by fantastical beings in the form of sprites, goblins, and fairies. Through the children's eyes, readers and viewers alike get to enter a world where the ordinary is now extraordinary, where each corner has its share of wonders and terrors. The way the ordinary and the extraordinary flow into each other in this manner is seamless—truly a feat of storytelling by these authors to ask readers to suspend their disbelief and let them go along for a full ride.

I remember my first time playing Minecraft when I was little. I spent at least an hour making the perfect character design(at least, that's what I thought, looking back now it wasn't great.) I finally started a new world, of which I didn't even name properly, I was too excited. I had heard a lot about the game, so I knew a few basics. I spawned in the middle of a forest, and immediately, I started wandering and looking at everything in awe. After a couple of minutes of breaking random blocks, I cut down some trees. Unfortunately, I was not yet in the know about making sure to clean up the floating leaves after getting the wood, so that world looked pretty funky, but I loved it nevertheless. After making a sword and a pickaxe, I was happy with just walking around. I noticed soon that the sky was getting dimmer, but I didn't know exactly what that meant, so I continued walking. It wasn't until I had a skeleton try to shoot at me did I understood that the monsters came out at night(not my finest moment I must admit.) After I dug a hole underground, I started blindly mining with my pickaxe until it broke. Spending time in that little hole that was slowly becoming larger was one of the best first memories I have from playing Minecraft, even if it was simple, it was just so cool to be able to hear the different monsters walking above me. Even now, as a seasoned Minecraft player, I do still enjoy some of the more simple acts of playing Minecraft, everything from all of the new achievements in the first hour of playing a new world to watching all the cool animals wander around the world.

Growing up, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, then, by some amazing event that gave me the perfect way to express myself, I came across a theatre summer camp, I attended that camp for 3 straight years and truly found my passion in life. Unfortunately, the effects of COVID-19 paused that camp and I moved states before summer was over. Within the year of moving to Hawaii in 2020, I already had theater programs and auditions lined up. I have done countless workshops and productions with some amazing local talent that have given me future opportunities that have further proved just how much performing has positively impacted my life. As a member of the queer community, theatre is not only something that I enjoy, it also has connected me to so many other people in the community that I am quite proud to call my chosen family and friends. These people have filed even further my passion for theatre and the arts as a whole. I will be going to the University of Hawaii at Hilo with a double major in Business Administration and Performing Arts. I have already done several shows at the UH Performing Arts Center, so I have made some powerful connections with my future professors, all of whom I am ever so grateful for. Out of all of the amazing aspects of theatre, I am most excited to further my knowledge of acting and singing, and start my education in some dance portions of performing, but I am overjoyed at even just the idea of working more behind the scenes on tech crews for all of the shows that the theater will put on in the four years I will be there as a student. So far, I have done a few small side techie shows, but the theater that the university offers, it has granted me the opportunity to learn all aspects. Everything from working above the stage with the lighting board, spotlights, and the massive soundboard, all the way to working mics and moving sets around to give our amazing audience the most immersive and seamless shows my fellow stage technicians and I possibly can. I have carefully observed the tech crew with their jobs and responsibilities over the past few years of being an actor in shows, and even just thinking about my future in working on tech crews brings me a smile. There are several professors on campus who mainly work in the tech area of theatre, and I am confident in saying that I know how I can fit into such an intricate and honestly beautiful operation behind the scenes. No matter where on stage I am, the theater has always been my home, and I intend on keeping that home happy and working nicely with my future knowledge of working on the UH campus's stage. This scholarship would be a huge step in funding my education and my passion for the arts.

My first concert was in June of 2024, I traveled to Las Angeles, California all the way from my home, The Big Island of Hawaii. The concert was a part of the Cavetown and Mother Mother summer tour. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved Cavetown, I can always relate to what Robbie(The artist) writes and sings. It has been a form of musical comfort as a person a part of the queer community that there is such amazing and inspiring artists in the same community. I was not as well versed with Mother Mother, but I do still really enjoy their music. For weeks before this concert, I had every detail planned out of my outfit and styling of all different aspects. That way, coming up to the day, I could allow myself to be truly excited for this new experience. When we pulled up to the venue, I was quite literally bouncing up and down with excitement. As we walked closer and closer to the area where we get past security and have out tickets checked, I was in awe of all the cool people there, as a lot of people had some really cool outfits as well. The entire venue's ambiance was awe-inspiring, with all the people coming together for something that we all loved so much. We were very fortunate to get VIP tickets, so going over to that area was so interesting, and I still have the concert wristband to get access to that area, as my little keepsake from the show. The opener, Meet Me At The Altar, was such a fun introduction to live music as they were so interactive with the crowd, and on top of that they have a really unique style of music that was fun to partake in. As we got closer to Cavetwon coming onto the stage, the entire crowd buzzed with excitement. At this point I was a little nervous, but I am to quite sure why, as it was so fun to be around all these people like it was a big family(which it almost kinda was, as the queer community often comes together in family type ways for each other.) Then, Robbie finally entered with a a running bounce that was such a great start to his songs. I was fortunate to get a couple of good pictures and videos. Mainly though, I was just trying to be in the moment as all of my favorite songs were being played. Near the end of Cavetowns set, I met a really cool person, of which lives in California and is now one of my friends who is really nice. In between Cavetowns and Mother Mothers sets, I wandered around the venue and got an awesome Cavetown Show shirt with a moth on the front and the tour dates and locations on the back, I wear this shirt all of the time now. I didn't stay for all of Mother Mother's set, but the 4 or 5 songs I did see were awesome and such an amazing vibe, there was a little mosh pit that was fun to see, but I didn't get the chance to join this time. Even as we were leaving the venue, I felt so happy that I finally got to see my favorite artist of all time with people who made me feel safe and comfortable.

This could range from Disney nights, karaoke, or even just people having fun together singing Broadway songs. People in theater have changed my life for the better, and I hope to one day do the same by giving back to the thing I love: Performing. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

Although I have not had to accept any loans, if I had to, my SAI of -1500 would have enabled me to attend school for free, and I plan to not accept any loans in the future. My journey as a low-income student at Acellus Science Academy has been one of perseverance, resourcefulness, and determination. From working towards graduating with honors to being accepted into the University of Hawaii at Hilo, I have defied odds and overcome challenges. I have carefully observed the tech crew with their jobs and responsibilities over the past few years of being an actor in shows, there are several professors on campus who mainly work in the tech area of theatre, and I am confident in saying that I know how I can fit into such an intricate and honestly beautiful operation behind the scenes. No matter where on stage I am, the theater has always been my home, and I intend on keeping that home happy and working nicely with my future knowledge of working on the UH campus's stage.

Having grown up in a low-income family, I have had to learn how to be more resourceful with the support I have received throughout my life. give back to my community by providing certain services that not everybody else can. For instance, I had a business that provided fresh baked goods sold near other local businesses to promote more sales for the community. I do school online and I am over a year ahead in school as compared to other students my age. Using online schooling, I can have more time to also do community theatre, some of the shows I have performed in have been non-profit for the community to enjoy and watch for entertainment. In the future, I hope to go to the University of Hawaii at Hilo. I wish to major in Business Marketing as well as Performing Arts in a double major. I would like to create and run a company that can give back to the community in more ways than one. I think it would be a good resource for people to learn more about certain scenarios in our society. I wish that when I was younger, I had some way of knowing certain information about how the world works. Now as I grow up, this information is becoming a basic tool for everyday life in society. Especially now that everything is going into technology, having more community input could be good for the future to support the next generations as they grow up in this new and evolving world. This site could include resources to support women, the LGBTQIA+ community, people with disabilities, and more people to help both them and the people around them to learn and educate themselves on how to better the world from then on out.

As a young theater enthusiast, I stand on the threshold of a transformative journey, fueled by the passion for live performance and the unwavering commitment to keeping the theater alive. I am determined to carry forth his mantle and become a torchbearer for the next generation of theater creatives. My journey into the world of theater commenced with humble beginnings, fueled by an insatiable thirst for storytelling and a deep-rooted love for the stage. From my early days of general theater performances to my immersive experiences in Disney classics and Shakespearean dramas, each role has been a stepping stone in my quest for artistic excellence. In 2018, I had the privilege of portraying Marie in Disney's "The Aristocats," a role that ignited my passion for performance and set me on a trajectory of artistic exploration. It was through embodying the whimsical charm of Marie that I first glimpsed the transformative power of theater to captivate hearts and minds, sparking a lifelong commitment to the craft. Throughout the years, I have embraced challenges and pursued opportunities to expand my repertoire, collaborating with esteemed theatrical communities such as Hilo Community Players and HEART Theatrical Community. From bringing the lovable snowman Olaf to life in "Disney's Frozen" to taking on multiple singing and dancing leads in "Rising Stars Musical and Dance Performance," each experience has been a testament to my dedication to the art of storytelling. In 2023 and 2024, I had the honor of taking on lead roles in productions such as "Be More Chill" and "Happily Eva Afta," where I not only showcased my talent but also forged meaningful connections with fellow artists. It was through these experiences that I realized the transformative power of theater to unite communities and foster lifelong friendships, using theater to revitalize artistic communities around the world. As a first-generation, low-income student with a deep-seated passion for theater, I understand the importance of support in pursuing higher education. The opportunity to apply for this scholarship represents more than just financial assistance; it symbolizes a chance to further my artistic journey and contribute to the rich tapestry of the theater community. In closing, I am grateful for the opportunity to apply for this scholarship and humbly submit a written sample of my work in acting along with a brief explanation of my interest in this opportunity. With unwavering dedication and a fervent love for the theater, I am committed to becoming a beacon of creativity and innovation in the world of live performance.

No matter where on stage I am, the theater has always been my home, and I intend on keeping that home happy and working nicely with my future knowledge of working on the UH campus's stage.

The double major that I plan to pursue at UH is Business Administration and Management as well as Performing Arts with a concentration in the drama department. I had to receive grants for over half of my tuition for the first semester of the school year (because I started the school year in the spring, I was only able to receive grants for the 24-25 school year that was just one semester long). Although I have not had to accept any loans, if I had to, my SAI of -1500 would have enabled me to attend school for free, and I have a plan not to accept any loans in the future. From working towards graduating with honors to being accepted into the University of Hawaii at Hilo, I have defied odds and overcome challenges.

As a teenager growing up, being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community has profoundly impacted my life in numerous ways, shaping my experiences, perspectives, and sense of identity. From navigating societal expectations to grappling with self-acceptance and finding support systems, being LGBTQIA+ has been a journey of both challenges and self-discovery. One of the most significant impacts of being an LGBTQIA+ teenager has been the struggle to reconcile my identity with societal norms and expectations. From a young age, society often imposes rigid gender roles and heterosexual norms, which can make it difficult for LGBTQIA+ youth to feel accepted or understood. As a result, many of us may grapple with feelings of isolation, fear of rejection, or confusion about our identity. Personally, I often felt pressure to conform to these norms, leading to a sense of internal conflict as I tried to suppress or deny my true self. Moreover, growing up as an LGBTQIA+ teenager often means facing discrimination, prejudice, or even violence. Unfortunately, homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of bigotry are still prevalent in many communities, which can create a hostile or unsafe environment for LGBTQIA+ youth. Whether it's experiencing bullying at school, facing rejection from family members, or encountering discrimination in public spaces, these negative experiences can take a toll on our mental and emotional well-being. For me, navigating these challenges meant constantly having to defend my identity, advocating for my rights, and seeking out safe spaces where I could be myself without fear of judgment or harm. However, despite the hardships, being an LGBTQIA+ teenager has also been a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. For many of us, coming to terms with our identity and embracing our true selves can be a liberating and empowering experience. It's a process of learning to love and accept ourselves unconditionally, regardless of societal expectations or prejudices. Through self-exploration, education, and connecting with other LGBTQIA+ individuals, I've been able to find a sense of belonging and community that has been invaluable in my journey. Furthermore, being part of the LGBTQIA+ community has allowed me to challenge and redefine traditional notions of gender and sexuality. By embracing diversity and embracing fluidity, we can break free from the constraints of binary thinking and celebrate the rich spectrum of human experiences. This mindset has not only influenced my own understanding of gender and sexuality but has also fostered empathy and acceptance towards others who may be different from me. Moreover, being an LGBTQIA+ teenager has taught me resilience, strength, and the importance of speaking out against injustice. Despite the obstacles we may face, we have the power to create change and shape a more inclusive and equitable society. Whether it's advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights, raising awareness about issues affecting our community, or simply living authentically, every action we take has the potential to make a difference. In conclusion, being an LGBTQIA+ teenager has been a transformative journey filled with both challenges and opportunities for growth. While navigating societal expectations, discrimination, and prejudice can be daunting, it's also a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and resilience. By embracing our true selves, advocating for our rights, and building supportive communities, we can create a world where every LGBTQIA+ teenager feels accepted, valued, and celebrated for who they are. Receiving a scholarship would help tremendously in my goal of going to university.

At its core, "The Spiderwick Chronicles" is a tale of discovery, courage, and the bonds of family. It follows the Grace siblings—Mallory, Jared, and Simon—as they move to the decrepit Spiderwick Estate with their mother, seeking solace from life's upheavals. Little do they know, the estate holds secrets beyond their wildest imaginations, secrets that propel them into a world of mythical creatures, ancient feuds, and perilous quests. One of the most compelling aspects of the story is its richly imagined universe, brimming with fantastical beings like sprites, goblins, and faeries. Through the lens of the Grace children, readers and viewers alike are transported into a world where the mundane meets the magical, where every corner holds the potential for wonder and danger. This seamless integration of the ordinary and the extraordinary serves as a testament to the authors' storytelling prowess, inviting readers to suspend their disbelief and immerse themselves fully in the adventure. Their journey serves as a poignant reminder that strength comes not from the absence of fear, but from the courage to face it head-on, a lesson that rings true for readers and viewers alike. As an avid fan of the movie adaptation, I must confess my deep admiration for its faithfulness to the source material. From its stunning visual effects to its heartfelt performances, the film captures the essence of the books with remarkable precision, breathing life into its beloved characters and locales. Moreover, the movie expands upon the narrative of the books, offering viewers a fresh perspective on familiar events while remaining true to the spirit of the original story. However, while the movie undoubtedly stands as a worthy adaptation, there is something uniquely magical about experiencing "The Spiderwick Chronicles" through the written word. In the pages of the books, readers are afforded the opportunity to delve deeper into the intricacies of the story, to linger over its vivid descriptions and revel in its richly realized world. It is a testament to the enduring power of literature to ignite the imagination and transport readers to far-off realms, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts and minds. In conclusion, "The Spiderwick Chronicles" is a timeless tale that captivates and inspires audiences with its blend of fantasy, adventure, and heart. Netflix and Scholarships!
Over the years, I have watched and thoroughly enjoyed so many interesting series and movies on Netflix, but i must say that out of all of them, Heartstopper is my all time favorite. I have loved the books for forever, so the news that this series would be coming out made me so happy. This show has spread love and acceptance throughout the world and has added onto the amazing selection of queer shows in the media. Out of all the characters, I think that Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring are my absolute favorites. I relate to their personalities and hardships throughout the series and the actors for this show were casted so perfectly to fit these amazing characters. With the last season that came out, i believe it was Season 2, my best friend and i had a mini watch party with the two of us and it was such a fun night. This show brought us closer together. We see ourselves in these characters, so much so that we have even joked about me being the Nick Nelson to his Charlie Spring. In the newest season, we met loads of new characters, my favorite being Felix, they are one of Elle friends form art school. I love how this character is not only queer (they are non-binary and use they/them pronouns) as representation, but they are also disabled, which is something I don't think the media likes to show very well, but Heartstopper did it so seamlessly and in such an inclusive and loving way. Overall, this show has so much representation in its story and in its cast. With showing lesbian relationships with Tara and Darcy. Elle being trans fem(I love her character so much, and her hair is always styled so beautifully!) And of course, Nick and Charlie with their relationship. Another part that i absolutely love about this show is that they show the progress of different people figuring out their sexuality. This is quite prevalent in Issac(I also relate to him with how much he reads, and the show actually uses some really interesting and good books for this character, I have found some of my favorite books just from looking at what Issac was reading), as he finds and explores the world of romance, and he figures out that he is asexual in such a cute scene at the art gallery showing at Elle's school show. All in all, this show has created such a warm ad comforting place for me as a queer person to see other amazing people like me.

I have childhood memories of playing Mario cart with family at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yet, as of now, I must say my favorite and therefore go-to game when I play on my Switch has to be Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This interactive and immersive game follows Link, the chosen guardian of the princess Zelda as he wakes up and realizes his world is being overrun by these demon kin monsters who have taken Zelda captive. Through the plot, you visit several different villages, from desert women, to bird people characters to upgrade and improve your skills. Along the way, you encounter side quests, whether that be picking 10 flowers to give to a little girl, to killing a main beast monster. My all-time favorite quest that I always want to go do again has got to be getting the Master Sword, Link's personal weapon that gives him extra powers. To find it, I had to go to this forest and 'prove' myself to be Link with puzzles and clues until I was finally allowed to try to pull it from the stone it was lodged. Out of all of the characters in this amazing game, my all-time favorite is Beedle, a wandering shop character who specializes in upgraded bugs. These bugs, once 'cooked' with monster parts, make specialty potions for all kinds of things; strength, armor, speed, etc. In the end, I have completed killing the main boss (although it would be a lie to say I got it on the first try.) As the years go on, I have gone back and played this game completely from the beginning at least 6 times now. This special game will always have a spot in my little gamer heart.
    Spider-Man Showdown Scholarship
As a kid, I was always so enthralled with Spider-Man. Even though there have been countless actors who have amazingly portrayed Peter Parker, I must say my all-time favorite has to be Tobey Maguire. This actor was one of the first more popular actors to play Spiderman, and I have always loved how well he took what was an unbreakable character in comic books to something that felt so familiar and comforting. One of my favorite scenes was in Spider-Man 2 I believe. Its was with the spider man and the green goblin on the rooftop where peter slowly wakes up to the Green goblin in front of him (played by Willem Dafoe), and he has this monologue of how people want to feel safe and protected, but how they also have the instinct to tear that apart, and what would happen in they turned on spider man (which does end up happening and those scenes with the newspaper officer are so fun to watch as well.) This is not to say that Andrew Garfield or Tom Holland didn't do the character of Peter Parker 'justice', I just grew up watching Tobey and his portrayal of this amazing character has and always will have a very special place in my heart.

In my life, art has always been a constant, something comforting I know that I could always count on. As I have gotten older, my interests have evolved into several different forms of art. This ranges from my main forms; theatre, and paper (in forms of origami art form of paper folding into objects), but also to some of my side interests that I still love and partake in with love and value; painting, creative writing and so much more. With theatre, I hope to inspire creativity and individualness in our audience. I have vivid memories as a child going to see simple plays and how enthralled in it all I was. And just a few years after that first play, I started acting in my community and it is one of the main things that brings me joy in my life. I have met so many amazing and unique people through the theatrical productions I have partaken in. Being a part of something so enriching has given me a constant feeling of fullness in my life. I will always be so grateful for the people who make theatre possible and accessible to people like me, without discrimination or hate against the fact that I am a part of the lgbtqia+ community. *The picture attached below is from a production I was a part of in 2023, Be More Chill. That show brought me so many rich experiences and an amazing cast of which I am proud to call family* If you were to ask any of my friends or family, you would also know just how much paper folding is in my life, as I am constantly finding new projects and different kinds of paper to work with. Although I am always finding new things to make, I do have certain little things that I believe I will always love to make. This includes paper hearts, mini stars, transforming and eight-sided ninja stars, crowns, and paper roses (along with other types of flowers, roses are just my favorite to make in general.) With origami as one of my favorite forms of art to partake in, my goal is to simply make people smile. As one of my love languages is giving gifts, I love the look on people's faces when they open a paper heart and it has a little message specifically for them. In the past year, I would estimate that just with paper hearts alone, I have made about 200+ works of origami. In conclusion, I use my art as a way to connect with people in a more meaningful bond that leads to friendships that have lasted for so long. Being a part of theatre has given me ways to socialize with other members of the LGBTQIA+ community with such a strong and unbreakable love that I cherish and am ever so grateful for. Origami is something simple that can mean so much, both to me and especially to my best friend, which he has received so many little pieces of my passion with paper. Thank you for your time and consideration!

I am a student who has been working on using an online science academy-Acellus Academy. Ever since 5th grade, which for me is when the coronavirus started, I have been doing online school, which has put me ahead of my fellow students. In just three years, I have completed 6-7 school grades. These programs that I have partaken in have made my life so much more enriched and free to pursue my other passions. I am currently 15, and for the past 6-7 years, I have been involved in community theatre and have done almost a dozen shows that were open to the public. Being in theatre gives me social opportunities with people who share my biggest passion in life. I met my best friend just by our meeting during a production of a show, Be More Chill, and I am ever so grateful to both him and that show. The entire Be More Chill cast and crew have been such an influencing part in my life, I have learned so much and these people have truly become like a second family to me. Even though that show was almost a year ago, everyone who was included in the show still talked and hung out all the time. I can always count on these people, whether that's just being in shows with them, all the way to asking some of my college-level student friends from that show who can answer questions and concerns I may have about attending the college of my future, which all of these students also go to. If I were to start a charity, it would be centered on the LGBTQIA+ community, of which I am greatly apart. This charity would be a center for donations for the bigger picture of the future of the queer community. We would focus on threatening problems to the community as a whole, so for example, if this charity were in action now, we would be working on trans rights and getting more people to help by giving accurate pieces of information to the imperative voters that will help shape not only our country but our world as a whole. Truly, getting our message out there and receiving help, lots of donations were to be made to several differentiating larger charities, Like the Trevor Project or certain states' queer communities that are in need. This community has been such an influential and comforting part of my life that I know I can always count on it. So many of my friends are also a part of this amazing community, it makes it all feel even more like a close-knit family. In the future, I plan on attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Hawaii. I believe that learning in my hometown will allow me to expand my horizons and also let me continue to participate in theatre and be around my chosen family.

One of the many things I am passionate about in this world is mainly theatre, I love performing on stage and the entire process of every production just brings me such joy. Whether it's auditioning, rehearsing, down to performing for large crowds, theatre has always been a constant for me. In rehearsals, when everybody is giving some piece of choreography or scene they're all, you feel this kind of euphoric feeling of belonging and kindness from everybody. The entire cast is there in support of everybody else. I have been in countless shows where the cast and crew feel more like family, we are always there for each other, whether that's finding a solution to a costume malfunction 30 seconds before an entrance, to off the stage and just bonding with each other. Especially on the opening night of a show, the energy is higher than we as a cast ever thought possible. That final feeling is when we all take our bows at the end of the show, our first REAL show, for our first REAL audience, who are all clapping and there are people smiling left and right ( and stage left and right of course too.) That feeling makes every difficult moment leading up to the show, like mishaps, missed cues, etc, just float away and all that matters in that one moment on stage at that point is us, and our bonds with our friends and fellow cast members. I think all of us at that moment wish we could just bottle that shimmery golden feeling up, as it is one of the most magical and 'worth it' feelings I think I have ever experienced. Another part of why I love theatre so much and why it is such a big part of my life is that I have met so many amazing people. One of whom was my best friend, whom I met while he was doing some techie workings backstage while I was a part of the amazing and truly life-changing Be More Chill cast. With both him and everyone else I have met in the past 10+ shows I have worked on have been so caring. It is so refreshing to be around people who have a similar love of performing with so much energy and passion. There are people I have worked with who always bring 150% to every single scene and song, and it truly just makes the entire show 100% better. These people have been role models to me ever since I was young, and now working with them on their level has been a dream come true. I am forever grateful to the people who I work with who make anything related to theatrical endeavors just so inspiring.
    Disney Super Fan Scholarship
My favorite part of Disney is the "magic" that can bring people together. I remember when I was younger, going to Disneyland was the best part of my summer. It was an opportunity to be creative with other kids my age, as well as get the chance to be in an environment with my all-time favorite heroes, and their coordinating attractions. To me, Disney is a company that gives life to the imaginations of kids and adults alike. I feel that everybody can find a common connection through the world of Disney. The first best friend I ever had, she was such a Disney lover, just like me. Our friendship grew as we bonded over our favorite movies and characters. This bond continued to thrive when we got into The Aristocats Jr and Frozen Jr theatre productions. Even now, years after those productions, Disney is still such a huge part of my life, just as much as it was in my childhood. I still have days when I cuddle up with a blanket and turn on a Disney classic. The comfort in Disney movies and shows is nostalgic, but at the same time, it is a continuous growth of love while new movies and Disney applications come out into the world. "UP" is my favorite Disney movie by far. I love the adventure and the storyline plot. Russel and Dug are a unique duo, just like you can often find in a variety of different Disney movies. This includes Olaf and Sven from, "Frozen", Pascal and Maximus in "Tangled", and so much more. Bringing people together truly is Disney's specialty, with support during pride month of the Lgbtqia+ community, to the not-so-scary Halloween festival every year in fall. The support and love that the Disney company has for the world are incomparable. As Disney continues to grow, so do the children that grew up with Disney, paving the way for new generations to come. These new childhoods are formed by classics Like Cinderella, to some of the newer productions like Turning Red. I am excited about the movie "Elemental" that will be coming out soon. I love that Disney finds new stories that balance with the revamp of older tales, such as the Live action of The Little Mermaid that recently came out. I truly am excited to see the bright future that Disney will pave in the next few years.

    Book Lovers Scholarship
If I could have everybody in the world read just one book, I feel that I would share with them a certain book called "The Hadley Academy" written by Conner Grennan. This complex story follows a twisty plot, lots of mysterious characters, with relatable subjects, while also keeping the book mostly lighthearted and fantastical. Although this is not a series, this one book has so much detail packed into the lives and personalities of the characters ( my favorite of which is Voss, a secretive character at first that opens up and is more friendly along the way, having a more complex character arc.) I find a little bit of myself in each of the characters, making them a lot more relatable and exhilarating to read. This book follows the adventure of Jack Carlson as he is brought into a wonderful school of improbables. Improbables are people who have found their "power", whether this being controlling ice, extreme strength, force fields, etc. At first, Jack is not able to find his power but then... I guess you will just have to read the book to find out, but this story has been and continues to be a favorite of mine. One of which I wish everybody would read, at least once. Even now, I am still finding connections with these book characters as I grow up. I find that books that have never-ending meanings are some of the best a writer can produce for the world to discover and love.

I've been doing theatre for over 6 years now, and ever since I was young, I have been very passionate about the arts. I remember the excitement I would get when a cast list came out, the anticipation for opening night, and all the amazing memories and friends I made along the way. Theatre as a whole is a wonderful community. As a person who does online school, theatre is a way for me to be social as well as a way for me to truly be myself. I feel that performing has helped me grow as a person, by working as a team with a cast, down to the simple things, like having fun with my friends. I remember my first ever show was this variety show including scenes and music from Broadway shows, Disney movies, and comedy acts. In that one summer, performing became one of my favorite things. As I grew up, I continued to evolve in my acting, dancing and singing. At the moment, I am in a show of 'Be More Chill", where I have continued to grow as a performer and strengthen my bond with the arts. In this new show, I am reaching levels of professional theatre that the younger me could have only dreamed of. The adrenaline I experience on the stage is other-worldly and truly incredible. I get to entertain an audience, develop important social skills, be around a cast that has similar interests that I do, and be in an environment where my character as a whole can grow and try new things. I truly do hope that the arts continue to grow and be a place for many more kids and adults alike to share an experience of true enjoyment. I know that theatre and the arts have helped me grow as a person, a friend, and a student. I believe having a place to wind down from school is important to a student who is working on getting into college in the future. I am so grateful that where I live is a place where theatre thrives, and there are so many opportunities for people interested in getting into the arts. The amount of dance schools, theatre classes, and performing opportunities is truly astonishing. All in all, I am so grateful for the people who make dance and theatre accessible to everyone in the community. As well as the theatre itself, for without it, I honestly do not know where I would be in life today.

    Future Is Female Inc. Scholarship
Feminism is needed in the world, because without it, the world will not so slowly rip at the seams. Feminism is important to me because being a woman in today's world can be very hard to navigate properly. This includes people telling me that I am not good enough if I don't do this one specific thing. Or I am not "pretty" enough for social standards. With the way the world is today, there are millions if not billions of women who are being pushed aside by their male counterpart in more ways than one. I need feminism so that in the future, there can be girls who do not feel bad about how their body looks naturally. These girls should not have to worry about whether their dress is too short, their safety measures will work and if they should go out for a walk if the sun is going down. NO women should have to wonder if a person actually likes her or if they just want something from her. There is not a single reason that is accurate about how "men are better". Because that is most definitely not true. Everybody has several women in their life of which they should thank for being there to help or for cheering you on where you accomplish something. A person that is inspirational to me is Emma Watson. Emma Watson is not just a celeb or Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter universe. She is a woman who stands up for other women's rights. Including protecting the female voice from being shut off in society. She is an amazing person who knows that women are not always being treated as they should be, and she is a part of the effort to keep women in society in a positive and inspirational way. She has impacted me to be a huge feminist who want to be a part of the movement of helping women get their rightful place in society. I feel that I am contributing to the world of feminism by starting locally and explaining parts of feminism to my male counterparts who might not understand why the world needs to evolve into a world where all genders are equal and can communicate without leaving people out because of who they are. In conclusion feminism needs to be a bigger part of the world. We need to show people, especially men that what we are advocating for is important and necessary for our world to continue to survive and thrive.
