This spring I will be graduating from a minster, Ohio, A small town successful town in farming country of Ohio. Most students aspire to go to the biggest colleges in Ohio and pursue a degree in high income jobs. Which many of them will succeed. Staying home means your not smart enough to go to one of these big schools or your going to the workforce cause your parents are farmers. In my case have neither of these situations. My family by no means is a low income family but my parents believe that we should work for everything we get. Therefore, by the time we were 16 we needed to get jobs or we weren't gonna be able to drive our friends around, or take trips to our local McDonald's. With that we would have to work which was sometimes difficult cause I was a three sport athlete the first two years of high school. I'd obtain all my money through summer and just hope it would last me through the school year. Now onto my senior year I am only in one sport. I work after school everyday so now I have plenty of money but nearly enough to prepare myself for college. With all this my college is all on me. Which is part of the reason I will be staying home and attending Sinclair Community college.
I am pursuing a degree in Construction Management and Business. Ever since the begging of school I've never been interested in any of the main subjects. I've always believed their boring and didn't care for them. I still did well the make my parents proud but other than that my motivation for school was slim to none. Until freshman year I learned we could take Ag classes. Which in our school is shop class and FFA. Fast forward a few years I am now the student advisor in the FFA and our banquet is just next week. I built various challenging projects in the shop and enjoy doing every single one of them. Knowing this was the only thing that would entertain me during school I know my job needed to be somewhat hands on. Getting a construction management degree guarantees you know jobs right after college. Either way your going to have to work your way up. Which is why this summer I applied and got accepted to my local construction company. Which I am rather excited about. Building houses and looking at the structure of them while driving by has always been one of the most interesting things to me. Now I will get to see it every day. Once the fall semester starts I will still be working but probably just half the week. I will be attending classes at Sinclair and making the drive everyday. Once I obtain my degree hopefully I can work up to a management job around company. But only time will tell. In the mean time I will put my trust in God and see where he takes me. Everyone's path is different but everyone has a chance to succeed if they try to.
