Writing is an art form that not only allows individuals to express their creative minds but allows them to share their unique personalities with their audiences. When I rediscovered my passion for writing, I knew it was the career path I truly desired to take. Ever since I was young, I yearned to write, to share my abilities with those who shared common interests. My interest in writing grew into a talent that I have further progressed over the years. I tried to ignore my abilities and settle for a more productive career, one that would be more secure than trying to become a best-selling author, but it did not allow me to find the joy I was searching for. When college applications became dreadful instead of hopeful, I knew I was making the wrong choice. I applied to college with a mindset that I would major in a degree that would get me somewhere. I had been told that majors like business, medicine, and law were the few that created successful individuals. Those words of guidance were somewhat lies disguised by helpfulness. I found no joy in trying to major in something that I had no knack for, and that was what led me to pick the one field of study several in my life frowned upon. I chose to major in English, not because it was easy, but because it is a versatile major that will not only advance my knowledge of several subjects but help me grow and sustain my writing abilities. I hope to use what I learn while pursuing an English degree to further myself and work on a novel I desire to publish. Writing has always been something I was fond of. It was time I decided that it was worthwhile to pursue. Changing my mindset also allowed me to see the benefits of writing and how I can inspire others while accomplishing my goals. I know I am not the only one to doubt, and I hope that by becoming successful and showing others it is possible to pursue a lifelong dream, I will motivate individuals to share their passions as well. Creative writing affects many people, whether through the stories the author produces, the fantastical worlds they create, or even just the success story behind the novel's creation. I hope that one day I am among those who have shared their unique talents with audiences. Until then, I'm going to keep striving towards my goal.

The fantastical worlds writers are able to create often allow individuals a unique experience when they pick up a book they can thoroughly enjoy. Capturing someone's attention through writing is a skill in itself, but those who have the ability to imagine in-depth plot lines and surprise twists for the amusement of others stand apart. Writing is used as an expressive outlet. It allows creative souls to pour their imagination into compositions of their own creation. To be amongst those revered for their talents, or even amongst the smaller writers not as well known for their pieces, is something I have always wished to accomplish. My desire in life is to write. Whether I become an author, a journalist, or a poet, as long as I am allowed and willing to express myself and my talents doing the one skill I admire the most, I feel as though my life would be worth living. Since I was a child, I have taken to writing stories, and over the years, my attention to details and need for complex plot lines have furthered my urge to expand my writing capabilities. Though I may not have the perfect image of what I plan to use my talents for in the future, I hope being an accomplished author is one of them. Through my creation, I hope to impact individuals the way so many books have impacted me. There is a purpose in writing stories for the enjoyment of others, and I hope to be one of the few individuals that truly impact their audience with the words they write. Along with writing a piece I hope influences those who choose to read it, I hope that my story will inspire a new generation of individuals to discover their talents, whether through art like writing or any other career that makes them feel as though they have a purpose. I have often been told that being an author is not a stable career choice, and while that may be true for some, I feel as if my determination will allow me to embrace myself and become the person I have always admired. What I really want my creation to say, even if not directly, is that one should never give up on doing the one thing they love the most. It does not matter what other people may think. There was a time in my life that writing became my escape. It was the only thing I was comfortable doing to express my emotions because I had a hard time communicating with others. I have not always been open to the idea of showcasing my creations to the world because they felt personal and private. However, if there is one thing that I have learned throughout my journey of self-discovery is that writing does not have to be my crutch. While it might be scary to allow others such an open connection into the inner workings of my mind, the accomplishment and pride I will feel when I finally establish my voice is an experience I never want to pass up. Letting the world see my creation will show those with similar circumstances as me that they do not have to give up on their dream for more realistic prospects. If it takes discovering one's inner abilities before they are comfortable expressing them to others, let them take that journey and define their own understanding of what they are capable of achieving. It took some time for me to reach that understanding, but I have never been more grateful that writing is the one thing I took a liking to at a young age. There is a world of possibility at my fingertips, and though it took me a while, I have finally chosen the path I desire.
