Hi my name is Kaitlyn Ledon and I am currently a student at St. Mary’s University with a major in computer engineering. Since high school I have grown a passion in computer and engineering thanks to my high school teachers. Which led me to have a major in computer engineering and it is a lot but I am ready for every challenge. My long term goals would be to graduate with a Bachelors and a Master degree in computer engineering with a 3.0 gpa or above. As a student school has always been my passion so I can have better future. Even though my dyslexia did affect my passion for school but I continue to work hard. However, helping others and keeping our environment healthy is also another passion of mine so everyone can have a better future.

Engineers of the Future Scholarship
In middle school I had no idea what I wanted to be but I knew it was not in the fields of English or history. When it came down to choosing a career in high school I chose technology. However my high school put me into engineering which is the best mistake that ever happened to me. From the beginning I learned the basics of engineering, how to work various machines, how to design projects, and much more. I love the fact that engineering is not easy, easy is boring. Implementing mathematics and science, my favorite subjects by the way, into engineering to solve problems I can’t get enough of. Thinking about multiple concepts for a project and using various designs to make it better. Being able to think that I can make a change with my projects or being able to bring a future customer’s project to life made me excited. Hence why I choose to study engineering in college in particularly computer engineering at St. Mary’s University. Getting more in depth about engineering in my college studies and hearing my professor’s experience within the field of engineering gives me excitement for my own experiences to come. Having the ability to creatively think of solutions for problems or projects to start or enhance them, as a career this what I want to do.
Art of Giving Scholarship
I am a young women trying to get a bachelor’s degree in a male dominated field. My name is Kaitlyn Ledon majoring in computer engineering at St. Mary’s University. Now due to the pandemic my tuition has increased and if it wasn’t difficult before 2020 paying tuition it’s definitely different now. I am trying and applying to as many scholarships I can to help pay for tuition this upcoming school year. Any amount of money will help and ease some stress off my parents and I.
