Bio

I am a dedicated and compassionate nursing student with a strong commitment to helping others and making a positive impact in the healthcare field. Since beginning college, I have strived for academic excellence, earning a spot on the Dean’s List both semesters of my freshman year. My experiences have shaped me into a hardworking, honest, and loyal individual who approaches challenges with perseverance and a solutions-focused mindset. Beyond academics, I value kindness, empathy, and integrity, qualities that I believe are essential in nursing and in everyday life. I am driven not only by a passion for science and healthcare but also by a genuine desire to support and advocate for patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. As I continue my journey in nursing, I am eager to gain hands-on experience, develop strong clinical skills, and grow into a nurse who makes a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I am committed to lifelong learning, personal growth, and contributing positively to my community through service and compassionate care.

The performance of Taylor Swift that moves me the most is her live performance of “Long Live.” There’s a raw energy and emotion in the way she sings it that’s impossible to ignore. You can tell she isn’t just performing the words, she’s reliving every memory, every triumph, every moment of her journey. The song is a celebration of victories and the people who helped make them possible, and watching her perform it feels like she’s sharing that joy and pride directly with the audience. What makes it so powerful to me is how it captures both the excitement of success and the bittersweet feeling of knowing that those moments are fleeting. The crowd sings along passionately, and you can feel the connection between Taylor and her fans, it’s like we’re all part of this story, this celebration. There’s a sense of nostalgia and hope all at once, and it’s impossible not to feel swept up in it. For me, “Long Live” isn’t just a song; it’s a reminder to cherish the milestones in life, the people who lift you up, and the fleeting moments that leave a lasting impact. Taylor’s performance makes those feelings impossible to ignore, and it’s why it’s the most moving performance she’s ever given in my eyes.

What inspired me to go into nursing starts with my family. When my grandfather had cancer, I was pretty young, so I didn’t understand everything that was happening. I wasn’t with him every day, but I remember how my family talked about the nurses who took care of him. They were stressed and tired, but they always said things like, “The nurse was so good with him today,” or “They really helped him feel comfortable.” Even as a kid, I noticed how much that meant to them. It wasn’t just about giving medicine or checking vitals, the nurses helped my grandfather feel calm and cared for, and they gave my family a sense of relief during a really scary time. Looking back now, that was a big deal. My family was going through something really hard, and those nurses were the ones helping them get through it. They didn’t just take care of my grandfather; they took care of everyone around him. They answered questions patiently, encouraged my family to ask about things they didn’t understand, and always seemed calm even when situations were tense. Watching all of this, I realized that nurses do so much more than people might think. They provide emotional support, comfort, and guidance, not just medical care. That stuck with me as I got older and started thinking about what kind of career I wanted. Another big part of why I chose nursing is my aunts. I grew up seeing how hard they work and how much they care about their patients. They have tough days, but they still talk about their jobs with pride. Seeing that made nursing feel real and possible for me. I always admired their strength and how calm they could stay when other people were stressed. I realized that nursing isn’t just about knowledge or skill, it’s about patience, compassion, and being able to show up for people when they need it most. Nursing also fits the future I want. I want a stable career where I can actually help people and feel like I’m making a difference. I want to be the type of nurse who listens and tries to make scary situations a little easier, the same way those nurses did for my family. Even small things, such as explaining something clearly, answering questions carefully, or simply being patient, can matter a lot. I want to be that person for someone else, the person who helps a family feel supported when everything feels uncertain. So what inspired me to pursue nursing is really simple. I saw what good nurses did for my family, and it made me want to do the same for others. That experience has stayed with me, and it’s why I’m committed to becoming a nurse. I hope that one day I can provide the same comfort, care, and support to other families that my grandfather’s nurses gave to mine, and that is what drives me to work hard and keep pursuing this path.

When I think about why I want to become a nurse, I always go back to the time when my grandfather had cancer. I was pretty young then, so I didn’t fully understand everything that was happening. I wasn’t with him every day, but I remember watching my family go back and forth from the hospital, and I saw how much they depended on the nurses who cared for him. Even though I didn’t see every moment, I could tell from the way my family talked about the nurses that they made a huge difference during a really hard time. My family would come home and say things like, “The nurse was so patient today,” or “They really helped me feel better about how they are taking care of him.” I could hear the relief in their voices. They trusted the nurses. They appreciated them. They felt supported by them. As a kid, that stood out to me. I wasn’t just that the nurses took care of my grandfather, but that they took care of everyone around him too. It made me realize how powerful that role is. Nurses show up in the moments when families feel scared, confused, or helpless, and they bring comfort just by the way they treat people. That stuck with me, even though I was young. Another big part of my inspiration comes from my aunts, who are nurses themselves. Growing up, I always admired them. They work long hours, deal with tough situations, and still speak about their jobs with so much passion. I saw how proud they were of the difference they made. Watching strong women in my own family succeed in this field made me want to follow the same path. They are the kind of people I want to be, so caring, dependable, and strong. Nursing is also a career that fits the future I hope to have. I want to build a stable, meaningful life and one day become a mother. Nursing is a profession where I can grow, support my family, and still do something that matters. I’ve always been someone who wants to help others, and nursing gives me a way to do that every single day. In my community, I hope to make a positive impact by being the type of nurse who listens, who notices the small things, and who treats every patient with kindness. I want families to feel the same comfort and support that my family felt when they needed it most. Becoming a nurse isn’t just a career choice for me, it feels personal. It comes from seeing what good nurses can do and wanting to give that same care to others. This scholarship would help me continue working toward that goal and help me become the kind of nurse my younger self admired.
