      Craig Norrbom Baseball Scholarship
Hello my name is Kairu Fujinuma class of 2023. little background about me, I started playing baseball since I was 8. My first team that I play was in Japanese local school team and then I joined travel team right after I came to the U.S when I was 12. Currently I play for Oceanside High School baseball team in CA and won a league this year since 2000. I love baseball because even I struggle understanding English and get used to the environment of playing baseball in different country, baseball guys were always there for me and especially guys that I play with right now is like my second family. Baseball has a power to bring a people closer and that's something that I believe it's unique about baseball. As a Dodgers fan, my favorite player of all time is Jackie Robinson because not only he was a person who open the door for African American baseball player to play MLB, he was a great ball player and his career stats prove that he was a great ball player. I was inspired by what he has done to society and change a whole discrimination against African American players. As I mentioned earlier, I am a Dodgers fan because Dodgers was the first MLB team that I watched and Dodgers have many history behind and I love the energy of our fans that brings to stadium. My favorite position is Pitcher because I am a varsity baseball pitcher for my high school and pitcher has a power of controlling a game. Many people might disagree on my opinion but with out pitcher putting a 0 on opponent score board, team can not win a game and all ball players know that wins are first priority. I really hope to win this scholarship because I am working hard to play baseball to compete in next level and this scholarship will help me a lot.
