I am a mother of eight who is returning to school to pursue a degree in theological studies. The pursuit of knowledge is a source of joy to me, and I hope to continue to inspire my children to love learning and to seek truth. Our faith has been a foundational pillar to our family as we have dealt with struggles including the loss of four children to miscarriage, and a daughter's battle with cancer that has provided her with both challenges and strength. Our lively household is a gift, and the love of books and reading is shared among all of us. The interweaving of story and wonder with the physical world has characterized our family as we strive to welcome others and provide opportunities for human connection. My degree in theology will allow me to better understand God and his world and draw those around me into relationship with Creator and creation.
