      Redefining Victory Scholarship
Success, for me, isn't defined by the simple personal achievements or recognition that a person can get. Instead, it's about the positive impact that I as a person can make in the lives of others that I encounter. Whether it's by donating to those in need, contributing to my community through volunteering, or even just simply being there for others when they need support, success to me is measured by the difference that you as a person can make in the lives of others around you. The feeling of knowing that I was able to and have played a role in improving someone else's day, health, future, or well-being is what truly fulfills me as a person/ As I was growing up, I always thought that achievement was more than just reaching personal goals. While reaching one's own goals and accomplishments can be satisfying, I've realized that real success comes from the relationships we build and the ways we use our abilities to benefit others. One of the most profound lessons I have learned is that success is not a destination—it is a journey shaped by the kindness we extend and the compassion we show. Some of the most successful people I admire are not necessarily those with the most wealth or the highest achievements but those who dedicate their lives to serving others. Seeing the impact that small actions can have on people’s lives has inspired me to make service and kindness core values in my own journey. TMy love for medicine, specifically family medicine, has been inspired by this belief. In in addition to diagnosing and treating illnesses, my objective as a future family doctor is to be a source of support and direction for people and families in my community. Family medicine gives doctors the opportunity to care for patients at various stages of life, establish long-lasting connections with them, and offer compassionate, comprehensive treatment. Though s uccess in medicine, in my opinion, is about listening to patients, comprehending their challenges, and providing comfort and healing rather than merely becoming an expert in clinical knowledge. My goal is to become a doctor who truly changes people's lives by making them feel heard, taken care of, Throughout my life, I have been guided by my commitment to service. I've volunteered in my neighborhood and at Baylor Scott, given to those in need, and looked for chances to help people. These encounters have strengthened my determination to pursue a career in family medicine, where I will be able to directly and forever impact patients and their families. I want to promote preventive medicine, help communities that might not have access to high-quality healthcare, and teach patients how to take care of themselves. Being able to enter my clinic each day knowing that I am significantly improving someone's life is how I define success. An important milestone in my path to becoming a family doctor is this scholarship. It will give me the money I need to continue my education, enabling me to concentrate on developing the abilities and understanding I'll need to care for my future patients. With this scholarship, I will be one step closer to realizing my goal of providing kind, patient-centered care, even though medical school is a challenging and costly commitment. This scholarship is more than just financial support; it is an investment in my potential to improve the healthcare industry and the communities I will eventually serve.
      Kalia D. Davis Memorial Scholarship
I would like to start by sending my heartfelt condolences to the family of Kalia D. Davis. Her story is both inspiring and moving, and it’s clear that she touched the lives of so many throughout her life. Her life deeply resonated with me, as she was someone who embodied the values of excellence, resilience, and service that I strive to uphold. Her unwavering dedication to her studies, community, and personal growth serves as a heartfelt yet powerful reminder of the potential that we each have to leave a lasting impact on the world. Like Kalia, I have been shaped by the values of hard work, perseverance, and a deep commitment to help support people. My name is Justin Pham, and I was born and raised by two Vietnamese immigrant parents who have always emphasized the importance of education and giving back to others. Their sacrifices and dreams for me have instilled in me the same sense of purpose that Kalia carried with her, using my abilities to make a positive impact on the world. Throughout my academic journey, I have always dedicated myself to achieving excellence in all that I do, just as Kalia did. I believe that the value of hard work, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others are key to creating meaningful change. Whether it comes from volunteering in my community or supporting those in need, I have learned that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a positive lasting impact. This belief I hold close to my heart is what drives my passion for pursuing a career in healthcare. Like Kalia’s desire to serve in the military, I want to dedicate my life to helping others. I am determined to use my education to become a healthcare professional, where I can make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing challenges. I am driven by the opportunity that I alone can provide care and support, ensuring that people receive not only the physical treatment they need but also the emotional support to navigate through difficult times. Kalia's commitment to excellence ignites a spark in me, inspiring me to bring the same level of dedication to my studies and future profession as she did. Despite the many challenges my family has faced recently, including medical hardships that have impacted our lives, their unwavering support has been my greatest source of strength. Since moving to the U.S., they have made countless sacrifices to ensure I have access to the education and opportunities they never had, all in the hope of giving me a better future. This Scholarship would help alleviate some of the financial burdens that my family carries, enabling me to focus fully on my education and career in healthcare. By receiving the Kalia D. Davis Memorial Scholarship, I would be able to pursue my dreams without the constant worry of financial stress. It would be a reminder of Kalia’s remarkable spirit and the values she lived by-values I hold dear as I continue on my own journey. I am committed to honoring her legacy through my dedication to service, excellence, and making a positive impact on the lives of others, the same way she did.
      F.E. Foundation Scholarship
My name is Justin Pham, I was born in Garland Texas, to two Vietnamese immigrants. Growing up, my parents always dreamed of me going to college and pursuing a career that can help the world. Their sacrifices and dedication to providing a better future for me have always inspired me to strive for excellence and give back to my community. For years I always wanted to be an artist due to how captivating the power of creativity can help connect people and inspire change. However, as I grew older, I realized that I had a spark within me. A passion to help others and improve their lives in a medical way. I began to recognize the impact that health and wellness have on an individual's ability to live a fulfilling life. This realization led me to shift my focus from art to more towards public health, where I could combine the desire I have to help others with my interest in creating lasting, positive change in others' lives. All of these factors alone, made me want to pursue being a Family Medicine Physician in the future. The opportunity to directly impact an individual's health and well-being positively on a personal level not only during their crisis but throughout their whole journey of life resonated with me. Working as a Family Medicine Physician offers a unique chance for me to form lasting relationships with patients and their families, while also guiding them through all stages of life, from prevention to treatment, and everything else in between. These factors ignited a deep passion within me, but there is still so much more I want to accomplish in the medical field. I wish to help create a domino effect of hope, where my efforts to help patients, inspire them to pass that care forward, By doing so, I wish for a cycle of support and kindness that continues to grow and spread, reaching more people and creating lasting change throughout our community and even the whole world. There's so much more I want to do so that the world I live in can have a positive life, and as I continue to pursue my path in life, I recognize that the journey will not only be about treating patients but also being a source of healing, not just in a medical sense, but also in a broader way that encourages people to take charge of their health, support each other, and lead lives that are not just longer, but fuller. Ultimately, my goal is to leave a lasting impact that extends beyond individual patients. By fostering a culture of wellness, compassion, and empowerment, I hope to inspire a ripple effect where the people I help continue to pay it forward, creating a wave of positive change that spreads far and wide, transforming lives, communities, and future generations.

When I was younger, the Medical Field was never my first choice. I had a dream of drawing on large canvases, or either working on an animation team for big shows and films. Drawing was always my first choice, and I thought my future would be in the artistic field. Then one day, my mom was hospitalized. She randomly fainted one day at her job and soon found out that she had a long fishbone lodged in her intestines. Luckily she lived through the whole experience and is still kicking it to this day. But during her surgery, I found myself sitting alone in a hospital. Most kids would have been uncertain, uneasy, and overwhelmed by their mother’s hospitalization and surgery, but my attention was drawn to something else entirely. I sat there amazed by the hospital itself. I saw so many different people with different occupations all working together to do one main thing: save people's lives. It was incredible to see doctors, nurses, and staff all moving with a purpose, each one contributing to something much larger than themselves. They weren't just fixing bodies, but instead offering hope, comfort, and making a real difference in people's lives. This one event was a turning point for me. It made me realize that there was a beauty in the medical field that I had never seen before. it wasn't just about the science or medicine, that many others believe it to be. Instead, it was about helping people, being involved in something important, and making a real impact on the world. It set a spark inside of me. While my love for art as a whole remained, something inside me wanted to help people and give them hope for any condition they experience. I found my calling. I dreamt of being a Physician. Particularly a Family Medicine Physician. I want to be someone who is there for patients not in times of their crises, but throughout their whole journey of life. As a Family Medicine Physician, I can see how I was able to affect their lives and see how I alone was able to help them through any condition. I plan to provide compassionate care to individuals and families, helping them lead healthier lives by building a strong relationship based on trust and understanding. I hope to educate my patients, offer care, and create a domino effect where helping one person leads them to help others. This cycle of support would create a never-ending effect, connecting our community and the world in ways that matter. Now looking back, I can see that the experience of my mom's surgery didn't just change her life- it changed mine. It opened my eyes to a new world where I alone can be a constant source of guidance and care for those through any condition. I want to use my passion for helping people, combined with my desire to make a real difference, to become a family medicine physician who can positively impact lives every day.

Ever since I was young, I was always made fun of for my weight. The teasing wasn’t just occasional but followed me through most of my life. When I was younger, it never really affected me deeply, since I never cared what people thought of me physically, but when I entered middle school, things began to change. In middle school, I only started to notice how much appearance seemed to matter to others. Comments that I used to brush off began to stick, and I found myself overthinking every glance or whisper. The teasing became more frequent, and I started questioning my worth. I felt self-conscious in ways I never had before, avoiding activities or social situations where I might be judged. Clothes I would usually wear were thrown away for clothes that were double my size as I tried to hide myself from the shame. Even some of the people I trusted with my whole life would chime in with their unsolicited ideas and remarks about my shape and weight. There was a time in my life when the sight of food disgusted me—a period when I was determined to lose weight at any cost. On some days, I set reminders to avoid eating altogether, and on others, I forced myself to vomit much of what I had consumed. It was unhealthy, to say the least, and while I was desperate to fit into society’s expectations, I was losing weight, but I was losing myself as a person. It took a breaking point for me to fully understand the harm I was doing to my physical and mental state as a whole. I worked hard, and did actions that were horrible to me, but still didn't lose the weight at all. I was just more broken than before. That realization of everything hit me like a wave. I had been chasing an impossible standard, one that the opinion of others set of me, and no amount of sacrifice seemed to bring me closer to it. Why was I enduring so much pain for a goal that wasn't even my own. Rather than obsessing my life over numbers on a scale, I decided to work on accepting myself and rebuilding the broken parts of my tower. I started small, first focusing on what made me a person. I would start going to the gym, not only to lose weight but get stronger mentally and physically. To be honest, at first, I didn't know what I was doing. I felt out of place from everyone else and kept on having thoughts of quitting as a whole, but I kept showing up. The gym evolved for me, from a place where people could go workout, to a sanctuary for me to regain control over my life, where every workout I did was an opportunity to build the pieces that I once broke before. The more I focused on myself and worked out, the less I worried about fitting into someone else's mold. I started seeing results, not just in my physical strength, but in my mental strength as a whole. I wasn't just transforming my body, but instead healing the mind that had been broken so long before. My journey wasn't perfect, but it was a journey filled with trials that defined my as a person. Now, I focus on setting my own goals and standards, ones that allow me to thrive in a way that honors who I truly am as a whole.
      Learner Math Lover Scholarship
When I was younger, I always seemed to get a better grasp of math than any other subject. When I was given an English or History test it would always seem to give me trouble, but as soon as I got a math test it would be completed in seconds. This early success sparked my love for math and set the stage for my growing passion for the subject. The thing that drew me to math was its structure and consistency that came with it. In Math, there will always be a clear path to the solution. Unlike subjects like English, where there could be 10000 multiple interpretations or answers, math allowed me to focus on the process of problem-solving with definite steps. I always loved how every math problem that I encountered gave me a sorta fun challenge that I was able to break down into more condensed, smaller, and manageable parts. This sense of order and precision appealed to me, especially since other subjects were more subjective. Over the years, my appreciation for math grew, not only because of how well I did in it, but how it occurred in the real world. You know that saying in school "When are we ever gonna use this in the real world?", well math is the idea of relevance. Whether I was calculating the cost of a purchase, understanding patterns, solving puzzles, or even my hobbies like cooking and gaming, math was everywhere. The deeper I dove into the subject, the more fascinated I became with how it was applied to so many different fields, from technology to art and even music. Math has also taught me valuable life skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and perseverance that I would probably use in the future. When I encounter a tough problem, I approach it with patience and know that, like any math equation, there will always be a solution to it if I keep working on it. These lessons go beyond math, and help me navigate other challenges in life with confidence. In conclusion, math has been more than just a subject I excel in; it’s a passion that has shaped the way I think and approach problems. The logic, clarity, and endless possibilities that math offers make it a subject I will continue to enjoy for years to come.
