I am attending California State Long Beach University to pursue a bachelor’s in Biochemistry. I have already spent a lot of time in the lab and was able to contribute to two publications in renowned peer reviewed scientific journals. I enjoyed the time I spent in the lab but I also need to focus on working towards going to medical school. A scholarship will help pay for school and allow me to better focus on my studies. I was planning on working a lot during school but a scholarship will help me instead use that time to study. By having more time to study it will improve my chances of being the best doctor that I can be. I hope to become either a pathologist or a general practitioner. This is my way of giving back to my community by helping those in need. The healthcare system has had an important impact on my life. I wish to be there for the next person that may need it.
