My name is Justin Cardona I'm an 18-year-old Graduate going to WyoTech in Larmie County in Wyoming I've been living in New Jersey my entire life. I took auto motive class a high school freshmen I loved working on the cars there but I also wanted to try new thing so I took a carpentry class at OCVTS in brick and graduated there but it didn't feel right I was never really a wood guy but I do what I have to do till I heard about WyoTech was coming in to my school and I saw an opportunity to learn something new and hard. I've worked on cars ever since my father passed I know how to change the fluid the wipers the batter the whole nine yard basically, but I was missing one more yard in my life. I found WyoTech Advance Diesel Technology I love big Mack trucks since I was a little kid id wave to them and do they gesture to get them to honk their horns. just about everyone in my family know a lot about cars but i winna to be the first to say I can work on Diesels in my family. Skilled work matters because it's the backbone of our society from crafting intricate designs to fixing complex machinery, these skills drive innovation and progress. They ensure quality and safety in everything we use and consume. Skilled work provides meaningful careers. It offers individuals the chance to master their craft, take pride in their work, and contribute to their communities. It's about creating value, solving problems, and building a better world through expertise and dedication. Investing in skilled work is investing in our future. It fosters economic growth, empowers individuals, and ensures we have the talent needed to tackle the challenges of tomorrow. It's not just work; it's an art, a science, and a vital part of who we are. With this scholarship I plan to use it for supplies and to buy extra books for myself to read up on more technical parts on trucks I have recently started to read and older book about Mack trucks. I'm really hoping I can win this so this money can help set me up for my future. Sincerely: Justin Cardona

My name is Justin Cardona and I'm pursuing Advance Diesel Mechanical Engineering. I worked on cars/trucks for about 10 years after my father died so i found something to keep my mind distracted. while I was in school, they had me do a project as a senior to work 20 hours in any field I choose and to do a report about said field. i choose mechanic AT Jon miller car care in little egg harbor when I was there I was so excited the fact i showed up almost 30 minutes early thinking i was going to be late but i wasn't i was there before and after doors opened the 20 hours i was there i felt like a kid in toys r us it felt amazing to find and do something with my life and because i went there it gave me a drive to go to a trad school to learn more about trucks . So, i choose to go to WyoTech in Wyoming and take Advance Diesel tech and after i graduate there i would love to go to work for the garden state parkway in New jersey and work on their big rig trucks. To be a successful automotive repair technician, a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and personal attributes is essential. First and foremost, a strong mechanical aptitude is crucial. This involves an innate understanding of how mechanical systems work, along with the ability to diagnose and repair issues efficiently. A solid foundation in automotive technology, including knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and computer diagnostics, is necessary to tackle the increasingly complex vehicles on the road today. Beyond technical skills, problem-solving abilities are paramount. Automotive repair often involves diagnosing issues based on limited information, requiring technicians to think critically and methodically. They must be able to use diagnostic tools, interpret data, and develop effective repair strategies. Attention to detail is also vital, as even small errors can lead to significant problems or safety hazards. A meticulous approach ensures that repairs are done correctly the first time, minimizing the risk of repeat issues and maximizing customer satisfaction. In addition to technical and problem-solving skills, certain personal attributes contribute to success in this field. Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting with customers, explaining technical issues in layman's terms, and providing accurate estimates. Customer service skills are essential for building trust and maintaining positive relationships with clients. Furthermore, the automotive industry is constantly evolving, so a commitment to continuous learning is crucial. Technicians must stay updated with the latest technologies, repair techniques, and industry standards through ongoing training and professional development. What i also learned that working on cars is nearly one of the most dangerous jobs because a doctor may accidently kill 1 person but a mechanic can get a family killed and that's why I'm learning everything new and old. Thank You, Sincerely: Justin Cardona

The way for me to master the trade is by trial an error but im going to ask as many questions that i need to know. I will definite read and watch anything just to learn more about the trucks new and old this is something that i have felt to never let up on i have failed stuff before but i have not felt like this to want to learn evreything for this trade. The one way i would pay it forward to any type of kid looking into trad school I'll tell them to look for something they enjoy don't look for something that will piss you off or something you just don't like follow your dream and if you drive enough for that dream 1000% pay attention to any elderly person they KNOW their stuff and Never EVER be on your phone while instructors are speaking you will miss something crucial and it'll set you back. This is my Story I may not get the money but I'm still going to try because this is a type of job i want to be doing for the rest of my life before I retire. Thank You, Sincerely: Justin Cardona

The person who influenced me would be my stepdad even though here and there we butt heads and get pissed but in the end I learned a lot from him how to build houses repair and work on cars ETC... so right now I have decided in giving myself a challenge and going to a school to learn advance diesel I don't know to much about diesel but I want to learn it since i was a little kid I would always see a big rig or any type of diesel and ask them to honk the horn especially the one time with my father before he passed there was a Mack truck designed like Optimus prime from transformers 2 it was pretty dang cool to see as a kid now I want to make this my life.
