Bio

My name is Justice. I think I’m an amazing student. I’ve been a 4.0 high honors since kindergarten. I am also a member of the National Honors Society and I volunteer with my interact group. I’ve decorated floats for the rose parade here in Pasadena. I am also a varsity cheerleader and basketball player. My goal in life is to be a homicide detective. I plan on majoring in criminal Justice while interning at the local police station where my college will be. I truly want to help others and be an amazing police officer. I want to be someone that kids look up to. I also am running for Miss Big Bear, a local pageant. I also work at my local grocery store. I have been working there for a year and a half. This has been my first and only job.

    Minecraft Forever Fan Scholarship
Growing up, Minecraft was the most influential game I ever played. I would always turn it on after I had finished everything I needed to do. Minecraft was a perfect escape from life around me. My favorite aspect of the game is how it allows you to express your creativity. I love building different things such as houses, rollercoasters, and statues. Some of my favorite memories involve my friends and I building houses together. Despite being so different, we could always come together to create things together. My all-time favorite memory takes place during 2020. COVID-19 caused my school to shut down for months. I remember being very sad during this time because I wasn't able to see any of my friends. We all ended up compromising and decided to play Minecraft once a day. I remember being so excited to grab my headset and hang out with my friends virtually. A memory I think about a lot is when we all decided to build a giant mansion to live in. However, we were all different, so we all had different opinions on how it should look. We all decided to come together to build a magnificent exterior to our mansion. Then, we split up the inside so we could all have different rooms to decorate. Our mansion was giant, so we each had about 10 rooms to create what we wanted. I remember building a giant pool, an all-pink room, a rose garden, and a beautiful kitchen for all of us to come together and cook in. All of our rooms were different and unique, but we enjoyed each other's company. I love how Minecraft allowed me to be so creative. I don't know who I would be if I never found Minecraft. I haven't played Minecraft in a few months, only because I have been so busy being a high-honors student. I would love to sit down and play again when I get the chance. Despite not playing as much anymore, Minecraft is still in my everyday life. At least once a week, I watch my favorite Minecraft YouTuber, DanTDM. I started watching him at 6 years old, and now I am almost 18 years old. Dan is my go-to person when I want to binge-watch. Minecraft has meant the world to me, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Harry Potter and the Sorting Hat Scholarship
If I attended Hogwarts and were sorted by the Sorting Hat, I would undoubtedly be sorted into Ravenclaw. Ravenclaws value learning, wisdom, wit, and intellect. These are all qualities that I consider myself to have. I have always been academically motivated and intellectually curious. I enjoy learning and I am always seeking to expand my knowledge in new areas. I am constantly reading books, taking advanced classes to challenge myself, and engaging in meaningful discussions with others to help broaden my learning skills. These skills are highly valued by Ravenclaws, who are known for their intellectual prowess and love of earning. Growing up, Harry Potter was the most influential book I have ever read. It helped me understand the values of friendship, hard work, and bravery. I have undoubtedly known that I would be a Ravenclaw. However, I think that being sorted into any of the houses would be magical. In addition to being logical and analytical, I also have a keen sense of creativity and imagination. I am not afraid to think outside of the box or challenge myself to new ways of thinking. When I face difficult challenges, I like to take a step back and think about all my options. Sometimes the solution to my problems is a little discomforting, but I can overcome it. I challenge myself to find new thinking methods by taking Honors or AP classes. I like taking difficult classes because it allows me to learn new things. Ravenclaws are known for being innovative and resourceful, which aligns perfectly with my values and goals. Growing up, I was captivated by Luna Lovegood, a character in the Harry Potter series who was a proud Ravenclaw. Despite not being the central protagonist of the series, Luna stood out to me because of her unique personality and ability to help those around her overcome obstacles using her knowledge. I aspire to be like Luna and use my intellect and creativity to make a positive impact in the world. In conclusion, I am confident that the Sorting Hat would place me in Ravenclaw based on my academic motivation, intellectual curiosity, and love for learning. As a Ravenclaw, I would be surrounded by individuals who share my values of creativity, intellect, and wisdom. I believe I would make the greatest friends who also share these values. I would be honored to be a member of such a prestigious and respected house.
    RAD Scholarship
Hi there! My name is Justice, and I am excited to share a bit about myself. I have always had a strong sense of purpose and drive. I am passionate about achieving goals and positively impacting the world, in my academic pursuits, relationships, and career. I have always put in the effort needed to succeed no matter what life has thrown at me. My drive comes from a deep sense of purpose and a desire to make a difference. I am always looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow and develop as a person. I believe life is a journey and we should always strive to be the best version of ourselves. I am from Big Bear City, CA which is 8000 Feet on top of a mountain. I am an only child to a Retired Navy Veteran, whom I like to call Mom. Freshman year after COVID-19, I was able to stride at my achievements. I joined the Tennis team, Cheer, Basketball, and of course my favorite cycling. I have been riding my Liv bike since I was a child. Of COURSE, I have had some upgrades. Living in Big Bear is a great place to ride. However, we struggle with paths for cyclists and there are hardly any street lights at night. Let alone barely any crosswalks for kids to cross coming from school. I always try to approach situations with empathy and an open mind. This has led me to pursue a career in Criminal Justice. I want everyone to feel safe while I’m a police officer. Along with making the justice system great. I also want to have a higher learning degree that will help able to push on the mayor that we need more safety implements for cyclists in the town. I want to make a difference in our community by getting bike safety lanes. I am currently running for Ms. Big Bear now as a start to get someone to listen to me. Winning the crown will let me begin the process of my pursuit of safety for cyclists. Yes, they do a good job when it comes to King of the Mountain when tourists from all over ride the marathon. But what about our local kids? This is why I am grateful for this scholarship. “Life isn’t how to survive the storm, it’s about how to dance in the rain.” Taylor Swift

I was in the poetry club and Interact all while keeping my High Honors. Unfortunately on November 29, 2021, sophomore year my world flipped upside down. I was in the weight room, and the boy next to me decided not to use his safety clip, the weights slid off and crushed my foot, instantly breaking it. I was rushed down to the ER where a doctor said that I would never play basketball again. He also stated that I might have to amputate my foot. Luckily we went for a second opinion and, I knew I would get through this. I spent several months in a wheelchair dealing with depression and the laughs from students. As you can see on my transcript my grades dropped to several Bs. After months of therapy, I was able to come back physically and mentally stronger. I continued my passion for basketball. I got a job at Vons, where I still currently work. I’ve decorated a Rose Parade float, and I’ve spent this summer volunteering for The Special Olympics. I’m a member of POTUS AND FRIENDS, an organization that helps mothers who are in need. We hold food, baby, and pet drives to help those in need. I am also the senior editor for the BBHS yearbook. My grades are amazing, and I am a member of the National Honors Society. Currently, I am running for Miss Big Bear. However, I wouldn't be where I am today without basketball. I've been playing since I was four years old. I've been to CIF twice and still pushing strong, even after they tried to tell me I wouldn't walk again. I think I'm a great candidate for this scholarship. “Life isn’t how to survive the storm, it’s about how to dance in the rain.” Taylor Swift

I am an only child to a Retired Navy Veteran, whom I like to call Mom. I grew up enjoying hikes with my mother. It was the one thing that truly helped with her PTSD and adjusting from not being in the military. As a child, I just loved the fresh air and highlighting with my favorite hot pink highlighter our completed trails. Unfortunately on November 29, 2021, sophomore year my world flipped upside down. I was in the weight room, and the boy next to me decided not to use his safety clip, the weights slid off and crushed my foot, instantly breaking it. Luckily we went for a second opinion and, I knew I would get through this. I spent several months in a wheelchair dealing with depression and the laughs from students. This wasn't who I was though. So I decided to pick myself up again. After months of therapy, I was able to come back physically and mentally stronger. I continued my passion for hiking. I see clearer now why my mother loved it so much and how it definitely helps with trauma. I got a job at Vons, I’ve decorated a Rose Parade float, and I’ve spent this summer volunteering for The Special Olympics. My true passion though is still hiking with my mom. “Life isn’t how to survive the storm, it’s about how to dance in the rain.” Taylor Swift

Growing up, I have always wanted to help people. I knew that when I was older, I would do everything in my power to help my community. When people think of police officers, it's often concluded that police officers are terrible people. I, however, want to set an example to those around me that police officers are amazing people. I want to be someone little kids look up to and say, "Wow I want to be just like her when I grow up." That's why I have decided to study Criminal Justice in college and join the Police Academy after I get my bachelor's. I would like to work my way up and become a Detective. I want to help the families of victims so that they understand what happened to those they loved, and do not feel as if they were given up on. I want my community to feel safe at all times. I don't want anyone to feel afraid to come to talk to the Police. One thing I admire most about our local Officer Braem is that he gave people second chances, even if they had committed a crime. I want people to feel comfortable around me, just as they did around Officer Braem. Officer Braem allowed people to grow and develop a stronger lifestyle, rather than not having a connection with his people at all. I look up to Officer Braem because I too believe people deserve second chances, even if they have done something wrong. Once I become an officer, I am going to work very hard to become the best officer that I can be. I want people to feel safe and comfortable around me. I think having an aura around you that is positive, will also allow people to feel positive themselves. What I want most, is to see others happy. I believe that being happy is the most important thing above all. However, I want people to feel as if I've rightfully helped them solve a crime. I want the families of victims to receive closure on their cases so that they can rest peacefully at night. Despite believing that everyone deserves a second chance, I also believe that justice should be served, and people receive the proper/fair punishment they deserve. To answer the second question, overall I think I wasn't inspired by a certain individual, but rather by the law enforcement system as a whole. I think that learning more about law enforcement has inspired me to become who I am. My father was a Navy Police Officer for 20 years. We have had a rocky connection, but I can say he has helped inspire me by giving me the idea to pursue law enforcement. In conclusion, I want to become a police officer so that I can help my local community feel more safe and comfortable. Not only around me but also my fellow police officers. I want to become someone that people look up to, just like they did with Officer Braem.
