Architecture is a word that is commonly associated with men who design and build structures for their communities. Architects are typically admired for the dedication that they have put into their careers. Spending around five years in college is not easy, but they do so despite the immense amount of stress they experience. To be an architect you are required to learn the laws and regulations required to ensure the safety of the people. When you are given your diploma you should know everything from what material is safe to use, to what measures everything must have. Though the meaning of architecture stays the same, it is still not commonly associated with women. To some, it may come as a shock to see a woman that is knowledgeable about the topic. Times have changed but despite that, people still trust men more when it comes to things associated with construction. Not only is being a woman in architecture something to talk about but also simply being a Latina in the architecture field is something special. Not often do you stumble across a Latina majoring in a major such as medicine, criminal justice, or even engineering? The reason behind this is the money required to enter such a big career. People in these majors spend a big part of their life in school because of the skills they are required to know to succeed. Being able to become an architect in the future would greatly benefit me, it would be something that would make me feel extremely proud of myself. Getting the opportunity to see the smiles of people whenever I receive my diploma would bring me great happiness. Being a Latina in architecture would allow giving back to people in my community that have helped me succeed. It would allow me to demonstrate to others that women can also do things that men can do. That Latinas are competent and can do the same skills as someone that is considered to have a higher status. Having to withstand the number of people that look down upon Latinos will be no more. Majoring in architecture gives people a big advantage in making a change in the world. Making a change to make people's lives better will be key to my future career. I would like to give every single human being in this world a chance to live comfortably. Even people that construct their homes from scraps have a home to come back to. After a long day of work, even people that have leaks in their homes want to go with their families and enjoy the rest of their day. This is why one of my major goals in the future will be to give people an opportunity to have a place to go home to. A place that they will hopefully make theirs, and where they will make memories with people they cherish. I plan to make a difference in my career by contributing to international projects that will benefit others.

When I was younger the only way I was able to watch Disney movies was when I would visit my cousin. She had a collection of both DVDs and VHS tapes of every Disney movie you could think of. There was a lot of this that I wanted as a kid but my family at the time was very poor. My father was the only one making income for the family so throwing it away to buy movies was not a thought. We did have cable TV but the Disney channels were not included in it. So, every time I would go over to my cousin's house I would see all of these princesses in either the movies she had, her shirts, or her pillow cases. We would each say that we were a certain character, I would always say that I was snow white, because to me she was the most beautiful princess out of all of them. I never actually watched the movie though, but only her physique. Now that I am older I think about all of this, and there are times where I like to watch disney movies I have never watched before. I relieve my childhood memories, and think about what all little me wanted to do that never got to do. Now, I can do all of those things, so watching Disney movies is something that I love to do. I have watched a lot of princess movies such as The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, The Princess and the Frog, and have yet to watch movies like Mulan, and The Sleeping beauty. Right now I think that my favorite Disney movie would be Tiana. I love her personality, she has big dreams like me. She has a dream to create her restaurant and saves up for it. There are many obstacles in the way of that, such as her becoming a frog, but in the end she accomplishes her goal. Everything that I want, I want to achieve. I want to remember that life has obstacles and to not give up no matter what. Princess Tiana is someone who is ordinary, and she does not aspire to be anything but that.
