I am the child of a single mother and have faced adversity my entire life.
The developing Data and Privacy crisis inspired my strong desire to become an attorney. I thought that in doing this I could formulate a nexus between my interests pertaining to Computer Science and Law in order to try and innovate as well as collaborate with other professionals to try and divert this problem. This is of course a more philosophical avenue and goal, but it is the basis of my inspiration. I want to also dabble within Real-Estate, and develop housing as well as political and advocacy work on the side.
I am very driven and passionate about advancing my education and working towards giving back to my family who I am eternally grateful for. I have interests in the arts including drawing, and I also have made immense efforts to educate myself on mental health through therapy and it has become such an important factor in my life and the lives of those around me as I love learning and growing with them. I struggled with anxiety for a long time, and still do but I have come to a place of immense growth that has taught me valuable lessons on resilience, independence, and communication which ultimately have led to me overcoming much of this obstacle.
Cultural inclusion and respect are of the utmost importance to me and it has been a lifelong goal of mine to understand as much as I can about other people and their paths. It is something I am incredibly proud of as a Latino, and I'm very passionate about generating cultural awareness in the communities for which I am apart of.

The social justice movement of the last few years has ultimately facilitated a conversation which has proven to be necessary. For many years prior many issues were ignored, disregarded, and pushed under the rug, but with recent events these issues have been brought to the forefront. The significance of social justice and the necessity for open conversation is as especially prominent now as it has ever been. Even as our nation is struck with immense loss and polarization, there has still been a vast positive impact of this movement. In my community, with community leaders as well as friends and family this has generated a space of educational growth.
Coming from a political family, I have never shied away from advocacy or using my voice to speak out about pressing or emergent issues. Racial disparity in particular is one which is incredibly important to me as cultural awareness and generating a sense of respect and belonging are standards which I try my best to uphold. Although some of these conversations can be difficult or uncomfortable for some, they promote compassion, sympathy, a listening ear and healthy debate which is important for any high-functioning society to improve and evolve.
Freedom of speech, to petition, and assemble has proven to be especially beautiful through this tumultuous period that has reenforced the importance of social justice. With peaceful protest, social media uproar, and event organization the social justice movements of the past few years have proven to be some of the most powerful and widespread displays of the United States democratic system. This same system has and continues to inspire other nations to fight for our movements as well and has really gone on to show the unity that has developed as a result of a common goal for achieving social justice.
Social justice movements within my community have emitted strength and resilience. They have shown that together we can in fact face a systematic process which has disparaged minorities for decades upon centuries. The fight for social justice has truly just begun, and the beauty of this movement is the hope it gives underrepresented communities like some of which I am apart of. The movement has generated a sense of inclusion, belonging, and respect as well as connecting people from all around the world with the common goal of achieving equality and upholding the liberty for which the United States was built on.
