I am a lifelong learner with over a decade in healthcare, driven by a commitment to equity, leadership, and improving outcomes for vulnerable communities. Growing up chronically ill, I taught myself through much of my childhood to balance hospital stays with my devotion to education. That resilience shaped my academic path: in college I triple‑majored, quadruple‑minored, and conducted international research, including work in Cuba. I then completed an MA in Applied Sociology to strengthen my research and analytical skills.
My global research now spans 36 countries. I have lived in the Czech Republic and later in Bulgaria as a Fulbright Fellow, focusing on vulnerable populations, barriers to education, and gendered violence. These experiences have shaped my understanding of structural inequality and continue to guide my work.
Alongside my research, I have pursued advanced interdisciplinary training—an MBA, a Master of Healthcare Administration, and now a PhD in Sociology with an MS in Organizational Leadership, and a Masters in Public Health. Professionally, I have spent more than ten years in healthcare leadership, quality improvement, compliance, and community outreach. I am committed to building a healthcare system that is innovative, inclusive, and grounded in the needs of the communities it serves. My goal is to lead meaningful change for those most often overlooked.
