Hello there! I am a 17 year old girl in her junior year of high school catching up with all the scholarship buzz! I am very passionate about my faith, helping others, and making an impact in my generation. Apart from my art and musical hobbies and abilities, I love learning languages and increasing my knowledge of the world through traveling and missions! I have been researching the vast area of scholarships, hoping to save up enough money to attend college and study abroad.

Living a fulfilled life in this world seems unthinkable, especially if we set our minds to all of the evil and corruption that is present. Some of us have had the blessing to achieve success, find great friends, be exposed to a loving family, endure incredible experiences… Yet, every single one of us still manages to lose dear things, have loved ones leave us, go through deep seasons of affliction, and overall just face the unfairness of this world. There have always been two facts that have remained true through every single person’s life, two significant constants that we need to be aware of. The first constant is incredibly well-known by every single person living in this world, and it is a tragically true one. It is the simple, yet complex fact that our world is unfair. People hurt us, and bad choices, including our own, affect people. It is very simply because every single element of this world is temporary. They are not eternal, and they most definitely are not meant to be. The second significant constant in our lives is unfortunately not well known, and even more tragically most people are not aware of this constant. It is not just simply a fact, but it is the entire testimony of all people who have found God in their lives. It is the notion that the only way to live a fulfilled life is to live it according to God’s Will and following His commands. The only way to experience true happiness and a peace that surpasses all understanding is living through it all knowing that God is on your side. The topic question of this essay prompt was asking how I have helped people, and what I plan to do to make the world a better place. I have helped people find out the second significant constant. How have I done this? I have devoted myself daily with the goal to love others the way Jesus has. The single best way to spread the Gospel and tell people about God is by loving others the way Jesus did. Looking through the lens of a nonbeliever, interacting with a genuinely kind and set-apart person will have so much more of an impact on them than a sermon telling them what they are doing wrong. What I have discovered through many experiences is that loving and helping others doesn’t always have to be a grand gesture or be seen. Yes, I have helped people in very significant and “big” ways by serving overseas as a missionary kid and participating in weekly community service. Those are kind acts that can be seen. However, loving others doesn't just lie in that area. Being kind to people at my school & job can have just as big an impact. I plan on making the world a better place by magnifying my aspect of loving others. My dream is to serve overseas and be a missionary, but I’ve also always loved the idea of teaching and studying theology. Whatever God has planned for me, I will follow through. Loving others the way Jesus did has helped so many people be aware of the second constant. They know that they can live a fulfilled life, filled with true joy and peace by being in God’s presence and openly being devoted to Him. I truly believe that when I help people in multiple ways through service, interactions and kind acts, they can truly find that constant in their unfair lives. God’s love.
