This ongoing commitment to service has allowed me to connect deeply with individuals and make a tangible impact on their lives. At Elmhurst Memorial Health, I serve as a greeter, which might seem like a small role, but it holds significant value. In this position, I am often the first person patients and visitors interact with when they arrive at the hospital. Hospitals can be intimidating, and people are often anxious, worried, or distressed when they come in. By greeting them with a warm smile, offering directions, or simply providing a friendly conversation, I can make their experience just a bit more comforting. This simple act of kindness can help reduce their anxiety and make the hospital environment feel more welcoming. There was a particular instance where an elderly woman came in looking distraught and overwhelmed. She was visiting her husband, who was in critical condition. As soon as she approached the entrance, I could see the worry in her eyes. I greeted her warmly, helped her find her way to the ICU, and even walked with her to provide some emotional support along the way. During our short walk, she shared stories about her husband and their life together. I listened attentively, offering words of comfort. A few days later, she returned to the hospital and sought me out specifically to thank me. She mentioned that my kindness and willingness to listen made her feel supported during one of the most challenging moments of her life. That interaction reminded me of how powerful small acts of kindness can be, especially in places where people are facing uncertainty and fear. At the West Suburban Food Pantry, my role is more hands-on. Here, I help distribute food to individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet. Many of these families face food insecurity and depend on the pantry for their basic needs. By volunteering my time, I help ensure that the pantry runs smoothly, allowing families to receive the food and support they need without delay. This role has taught me a lot about empathy, humility, and the importance of community support. Every time I help a family pick out their groceries or load food into their car, I see the immediate relief on their faces. It’s a reminder that even small contributions can have a significant impact. One memorable experience at the food pantry involved a single mother with three young children. She was clearly overwhelmed, trying to juggle her children while picking up groceries. I approached her and offered to help her gather the items she needed, taking some of the stress off her shoulders. As I assisted her, we talked about her kids, her struggles, and her hopes for the future. She shared that she felt embarrassed needing help but was grateful for the support. I assured her that everyone needs a helping hand sometimes and that there’s no shame in seeking support when needed. After loading the groceries into her car, she gave me a heartfelt thank you, expressing how much lighter she felt just having someone to talk to and help her through a tough moment. It was a poignant reminder of the impact kindness and understanding can have on someone's day. Through these experiences, I have seen how a consistent pattern of kindness can ripple outward, creating a positive impact far beyond the immediate moment. By showing up with empathy and a willingness to help, I have been able to make a difference in the lives of others. This has reinforced my belief in the power of community and the importance of supporting one another. It has also reminded me that kindness doesn’t have to be grand or complicated—it can be as simple as being there for someone in a moment of need. Each act, no matter how small, contributes to a larger culture of care and compassion, which can transform both individual lives and entire communities.

It has shaped my goals to include both personal and communal growth and has deepened my understanding of the importance of mental health in creating a more compassionate and connected world.
    Nintendo Super Fan Scholarship
My favorite Nintendo game to play in co-op mode is "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe". This game is perfect for co-op because it combines the thrill of racing with the fun of battling it out with friends or family. The game's vibrant tracks, diverse character selection, and unpredictable power-ups create an engaging and competitive environment where anything can happen. The frantic energy of racing against one another while dodging shells and avoiding banana peels is exhilarating, and it’s a great way to bond over shared experiences. One memorable moment that solidified "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" as my top choice for multiplayer fun happened during a family game night. We decided to do a team race, splitting up into pairs. I was teamed up with my cousin, who is usually not the best at video games. We started on the classic Rainbow Road track, known for its twists, turns, and lack of barriers. As we raced, it quickly became apparent that our chances of winning were slim; we were falling off the track repeatedly and getting hit by almost every shell and power-up imaginable. However, halfway through the race, something clicked for my cousin. She suddenly started nailing the turns and drifting perfectly. I focused on clearing obstacles and taking out competitors with power-ups. In an unexpected twist, we began climbing the ranks. On the final lap, we were in second place, just behind the leading team. In the last stretch, I launched a red shell, hitting the first-place racer just before the finish line. My cousin crossed first, and I followed right behind her, sealing our victory. The room erupted with cheers and laughter, and it was one of those moments where the underdogs triumphed. That night, "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" reminded us why co-op gaming can be so memorable—bringing people together, creating unforgettable moments, and allowing for unexpected victories.
    “The Office” Obsessed! Fan Scholarship
The character I resonate most with from "The Office" is Jim Halpert. Jim's personality blends wit, charm, and a laid-back attitude, which mirrors my own approach to both work and life. Much like Jim, I often rely on humor to navigate challenging situations and lighten the mood in environments that can otherwise be tense or mundane. His perspective on office life—seeing it as something not to be taken too seriously while also finding genuine moments of joy and connection—resonates with me deeply. Jim's pranks on Dwight, his constant eye-rolling at Michael’s antics, and his ability to maintain a cool demeanor amidst chaos reflect a balanced approach to life that I try to embody. "The Office" has significantly shaped my sense of humor, particularly through its unique use of deadpan delivery, awkward silences, and sarcasm. I find myself increasingly drawn to the subtle, everyday humor that arises from ordinary situations, much like the show's iconic style. This appreciation for understated comedy has influenced how I approach conversations and interactions, often finding the humor in mundane or awkward moments. Beyond humor, the show has also provided valuable insights into workplace dynamics. It emphasizes the importance of camaraderie and finding joy in daily interactions, even in a seemingly monotonous office setting. Watching how different characters navigate their relationships at Dunder Mifflin has taught me the value of understanding and appreciating diverse personalities and work styles. Jim’s ability to remain composed and supportive of his colleagues, despite the often absurd circumstances, has reinforced the idea that maintaining a positive attitude and finding humor in everyday moments are crucial for a healthy work environment. Overall, "The Office" has shaped my outlook on work by encouraging me to embrace the lighter side of office life, to connect genuinely with others, and to maintain a sense of humor through all the ups and downs.
    “Stranger Things” Fanatic Scholarship
If I could form a squad with three characters from "Stranger Things" to face a new supernatural threat, I would choose Eleven, Dustin, and Steve. Eleven is an obvious choice due to her powerful telekinetic and psychic abilities. She can combat monsters, manipulate objects, and shield the team from supernatural dangers. Her deep connection to the Upside Down offers invaluable insights into the nature of these threats, making her a crucial asset in any supernatural confrontation. Dustin Henderson brings intelligence, quick thinking, and a wealth of knowledge in science and technology. His ability to understand the supernatural and devise innovative solutions is crucial for the squad. Dustin's enthusiasm and sense of humor also help maintain morale during high-pressure situations, ensuring the group stays united and focused. Steve Harrington provides strength, courage, and experience in dealing with supernatural threats. His evolution into a brave, selfless protector shows he can be relied upon in really dangerous situations. Steve's combat experience, combined with his natural leadership skills, ensures that the team has a strong tactical approach to any threat they face. Together, these three characters create a well-rounded team, combining psychic power, scientific knowledge, and combat experience to effectively tackle any supernatural danger.

I like the building aspect and playing in a survival world myself, building my own world with its own intricacies and character. Builds that help me play the game or make me feel a certain way. I often go into a creative world to workshop anything I make in survival just to perfect it, get new ideas, and make it something usable but visually appealing. It resonates with me because of how relaxing it is to do and how satisfying the end product ends up being for me. I say this because I usually like to build fantasy esc build or in general something with a lot of visual appeal. Then I try to incorporate redstone to make the best/coolest use of space possible. The only drab part is the material collection process compared to just having whatever materials you want available when constructing something in creative. It's especially annoying when a material I use is really hard to find in survival and the only way the build works is with that material. But as is the essence of Minecrfat it's always a fun adventure to go find everything you need, regardless of how hard the materials are to find.
