My favorite Mario game to play in co-op is Mario Cart. It’s Always fun and I like the competiveness of the game. I love choosing the difficult race tracks. One of my favorites is Coconut Mall with its cool theme song. There are so many options of characters to choose from. The best characters in my opinion are Bowser Jr. because he’s adorable and Donkey Kong because I love all the Donkey Kong games. A memorable moment playing the game was with my brother and sister when we were younger. I was Donkey Kong driving the race car, my sister was Luigi driving the motorcycle and my brother was Diddy Kong driving a four wheeler. We were on the Coconut Mall course and my sister was in 1st place, I was in 2nd place and my brother was in last place. While driving through the food court I picked up a mystery box with a red shell and used it on an NPC, it flipped behind me. I through a blue shell at my sister and Luigi did a 360 in the air and fell off the map. As we neared the finish line my brother using his mushroom power up still wasn’t fast enough to catch up. I took out everyone in my path and crossed the finish line first. Donkey Kong was banging his chest in victory and so was I. It felt good to beat my older siblings in a game.

My name is Jourdan Bell and I am a senior at Saint Lucie West Centennial High School in Port St. Lucie, Florida. I have taken band classes since middle school and held positions of Concert Band Percussion Section Leader as well as Marching Band Percussion Lieutenant. I love playing the drums it comes naturally to me but marching band definitely perfected my skills. I enjoy my time in band class connecting with other like-minded students. We take our artistry seriously and received several Superiors in the Music Performance Assessments. I feel a sense of pride representing my school and performing at my best. Giving back to the community is important to me so I always sign up for the band community performances. Seeing the community come out to enjoy our music at the Martin Luther King Day Parade in Fort Pierce is rewarding. I enjoy performing for the senior citizens at the assisted living facilities because it brings them so much joy. I will take these experiences of service to others with me and continue once I graduate. You can always find me with drum sticks in hand. Drumming helps me concentrate, release stress and inspire creativity. I am a creative person and taught myself how to draw. I have been drawing anime for six years. I also enjoy building computers and personalizing them with unique gaming features. I built my first computer at 16 and since then have been setting up gaming PC’s for friends. My love for gaming grew during the pandemic it became more than entertainment, it was a lifesaver! The online gaming community was my only outlet as I spent freshman year in homeschool due to the shutdown. Being able to escape reality and dive into a game, while sharing similar experiences with others was therapeutic. I will be attending Full Sail University after graduation. I was accepted into the 18 month accelerated Bachelor of Science Degree Game Development Program. Being an artist, percussionist, avid gamer, and a computer geek, I naturally gravitated towards majoring in game development. In high school I major in computer science and received the GMetrix Python Programmer Certification. It solidified the idea of majoring in game development because of its endless possibilities. Having the ability to write code and develop simulations opens up opportunities to work with corporations like Disney and SpaceX or studios like Electronic Arts and Sony PlayStation. It’s exciting to think I may play a role in advancing the space program or create immersive video games that transport players to incredible worlds. I’m ready to get started and see where I can take it but whatever I do I know it will benefit society and be a service to others. Thank you for your consideration.

Back in the sixth grade a TV commercial about Full Sail University caught my attention and from then I wanted to attend because it was no ordinary college. The ability to be taught by industry professionals and gain real-world experience in under 2 years is incredible. The hands-on education provided matches my learning style. Seeing how many graduates went on to successful careers and received awards in their industry left a lasting impression.
