My name is TSgt Joy Bryant.I have currently served in the Air National Guard for the past 12 years and work as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. My additional duties within the Air National Guard include serving as a Volunteer Victim’s Advocate, Unit Safety Representative and Primary Training Manager. In addition to my roles within the military, I started a transportation and janitorial company that will focus on providing employment opportunities to youth in underserved communities, youth that have aged out of foster care as well as homeless veterans. My transportation business provides transportation to seniors in underserved communities that do not have the means to run errands, grocery shop and make it to medical appointments. I am currently trying to get back in school to obtain my Bachelors degree in Organizational Leadership at Colorado State University-Global Campus. I have twelve credit remaining but have exhausted all of my military education benefits and financial aid.This scholarship opportunity would allow me to obtain my Bachelors and transfer 3.4 credits to obtain my Associates degree with the Community College of the Air Force. After graduation, I would like to focus on career progression in the Air Force to obtain a leadership role as a First Sergeant. I will continue to develop my businesses by obtaining government and state contracts, which will provide long term employment to my targeted audience.
