My goal in life is to end the prevailing ignorance of Latin, Greek, and Hebrew. These languages are sometimes discounted as old, useless and irrelevant. But they aren't. They are essential to understanding Scripture as well as the English language, and additionally they are beautiful and give wonderful insight into the cultures of the ancients. If I haven't made it clear yet, I am obsessed with languages, especially the old, inflected ones. I have studied Latin for about 10 years and over the past few years have begun studying Koine Greek in depth. (I also wrote a 100-chapter, beginning Koine Greek grammar. It is currently being edited, and I hope to publish it soon.) Hebrew is next on my list. I want to teach the biblical languages at the college or seminary level, and a college education is the first step toward reaching that goal. I am a good candidate for this scholarship because of my love of learning, hunger for wisdom, desire to educate future generations, and unmatched work ethic. I would be honored to be considered for this scholarship.
