When my father left at the age of eight, I was left with questions I didn’t know how to ask and emotions I didn’t know how to express. That’s when music found me. What started as a hobby—humming melodies, writing lyrics in the margins of my notebooks—quickly became a lifeline. Music gave me peace when I felt broken, and lyrics gave me the words I couldn’t speak. Over time, that hobby transformed into a passion, and now, a purpose.
My dream is to become a Grammy Award-winning artist—not for the accolades, but for the impact. I want to create music that resonates with people across the world, music that heals, empowers, and connects. But I also want to bring that impact home. I plan to host free concerts in my community, creating spaces where people can come together, feel seen, and be inspired. I also want to build art schools that give students the freedom to explore their artistic and musical expressions—something I wish I had more access to growing up.
Currently, I volunteer at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, delivering food baskets to seniors. These experiences have shown me how giving back to others gives you an internal satisfaction that I crave and want to continue feeling. After college, I plan to expand these efforts of giving back, by using my platform to uplift and empower all races, genders, and ethnicity through music.
One of the most difficult classes I faced in high school was Economics. The concepts were abstract, the pace was fast, and I often felt overwhelmed. But instead of giving up, I leaned in. I sought help, formed virtual study groups, and spent extra hours in tutorial. I was very vulnerable and said, "I am not understanding this." Through that struggle, I discovered something important: I’m capable of learning anything if I stay committed. I also realized how deeply connected economics is to the music industry—from understanding royalties and contracts to managing a brand and building a sustainable career.
That experience taught me resilience and the value of financial literacy—skills that are essential for any artist who wants to thrive independently. That’s why I’m pursuing a college degree in business. College will give me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of the industry, develop practical skills in marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship, and gain real-world insights that build on my earlier learning experiences.
With a business degree, I’ll be better equipped to manage my career, fund community projects, and build institutions that last. I want to be more than an artist—I want to be a leader, a builder, and a changemaker.
Music saved me. Now, I want my music—and my mission—to save others.
