I know it is cliche, but it is true. I want to help people in need. That is all I want to do. How I do that is still not clear, but as long as I am helping others, it does not matter how I do it. In my Sophomore year of high school, I had the opportunity to spend two weeks in Zambia doing community service. During that time, I experienced the harsh realities of individuals in developing nations alongside them. Since then, I have observed, participated in, and facilitated events that work to serve such people in need. Throughout all my work, I learned that these severe and unforgivable existences are not unique only to the developing world. There are people in America who live without access to clean drinking water, proper sanitation, healthy food options, affordable transportation, and more. I'm majoring in Public Health at a crucial time in global history. The world is undergoing a pandemic, and people are losing trust in their governments due to misinformation. This crisis has shown how significant Public Health is to the welfare of the people and their nation. It is for that reason that I want to use my degree to help people understand Public Health initiatives and educate lower-income families on fundamental Public Health values. However, like so many others in America, my family is not capable of paying for my college education. It becomes hard to focus on your career when the fear of debt lingers in your head. I am creating this profile in the hope to reach others who are willing to help me reach my goal!
