As a kid when I would play basketball in school, all my classmates would all call out the names of their favorite players. Almost every single one of us said we wanted to be Lebron. For me I am a Lebron fan because he shaped a whole generation. He not only broke multiple records in basketball and is of course the best basketball player of all time. For me he is more than a basketball player, which I admire because many athletes are scared to step past the border of just athletes. Lebron was one of the pioneers that broke that stigma that athletes can't have an influence outside of there sport. Whether that be with his influence on the community by opening up schools. or even his influence in other sports, such as soccer where he owns a minority share in the team Liverpool FC. Lebron is truly a role model for young athletes to look up too I believe that Lebron is the greatest basketball player of all time because of his longevity. The notorious "father time" is something many of the greatest athletes have all fallen a victim too. Regardless we can't deny their talent and greatness when they were at their peak as that was when they gave themselves their reputation of one of the greatest. However, for Lebron he's different, because at almost 40 years old, not only is he still playing at the highest level, but he is also playing what some would argue even better than he played when he was younger. That is what stands out to me. He still remains as one of the best basketball players in the league. His age is not something that stopped him. Unlike the likes of Kobe Bryant of Michael Jordan whom either ended their careers due to constant injuries or went down to a higher level before ending it. Lebron however is not doing either of the 2. So, in my eyes not only is he the greatest basketball player of all time, he will also be one of the best athletes of all time
