I am a high-functioning autistic high school senior. I have an entire universe in my head, called Tropia, that I have been developing since junior high, complete with alien alphabet. I am seeking to attend an art school that will give me the tools, including teaming up with film students and writers, that will help me bring my futuristic sci-fi world to life. I was recently featured in an article on my school district's website: https://www.uticak12.org/site/default.aspx?PageType=3&DomainID=4&ModuleInstanceID=69&ViewID=6446EE88-D30C-497E-9316-3F8874B3E108&RenderLoc=0&FlexDataID=23471&PageID=1

My artistic abilities have allowed me to have creative self-expression that have helped me to overcome my autism. My main inspirations are Star Wars, Star Trek, and Stargate. I am creating a sci-fi universe, a hyper-advanced civilization of 900+ galaxies. It started as sketches of spacecrafts and an alien alphabet but then developed into “forge world” planets of heavily industrialized structures and machinery. I free-hand all my drawings without using straight edges.
I recently started a large project to create a modified game from an existing one. Portal 2, a game available on the Steam online store made by Valve, allows players to create and upload their own puzzles, or “mods”. I’ve been building my mod for 2 years and have uploaded 10 puzzles with mostly good feedback. I also started using the 3D modeling tool Blender to begin digitizing my art. This past summer I got a part-time job through a school program for special needs students and was able to buy an iPad so that I could learn the 2D art application ProCreate.
I plan to make custom models for future projects using software applications like Blender, ProCreate, and Adobe Suite. I’m still new to learning these programs, but I was able to submit some of my creations to apply to art schools. Self-motivation combined with taking initiative is part of what I am acquiring with these large projects. When I’m not creating for my art classes, I work on my sci-fi world.
The people of the world I’ve built are humans that came from Earth thousands of years ago. They developed much faster than the rest of humanity. Due to their exposure to reality energy and their advanced technology, they left Earth. They are known on Earth as legends that gave rise to Atlantis mythology. One of their more advanced inventions is tetronium alloy, an extremely strong metal forged from titanium, tungsten, and the yet-undiscovered tetrum. Another is the I.R.M.R.C.M (Inter-Reality Molecular Reorganization Construction Machine). This device allows advanced construction down to the atomic level by using advanced electro-magnetic fields to manipulate matter. The zero-gravity quantum counter-force generator (or drag generator) is used to make spacecraft able to fly as if they are in an atmosphere instead of space. They have entire planets dedicated to manufacturing industrial products called “forge worlds”. No one lives on forge worlds; they commute from other planets within the star system. My mom says she’ll never complain about her commute again.
College is important to me because it will aid in the development of my sci-fi universe. Primarily, college will allow me to learn new skills and give me access to better tools so I can develop this universe. Most software programs that colleges use are paid for with tuition. I cannot run these applications on my computer due to cost and system requirements. College offers me a specialized art program where I can major in game design and concept art. There I will be able to team up with film students, creative writers, costumers, and animators to help bring my sci-fi universe to life. While I will be starting with game design, I hope my ideas will extend to TV and film. I want people to be able to immerse themselves in the world I’ve built – the next George Lucas!

I’ve struggled most of my life because of my differences - that being autism. I had constant struggles with change and having to overcome near-daily meltdowns because of my autism. Transitions have always been difficult for me, like between elementary to junior high, then to high school, also having to move to a new house. I eventually did adjust to those changes. In 12th grade I adapted quickly compared to 9th grade, when I had to deal with my entire family being torn apart. As I got better at adjusting, I started to get good behavioral recognition and good grades due to the improvements I made. Hopefully the time it takes for me to adapt to change gets shorter than it is now based off my high school vs. elementary school experiences.
Then there was the 2020-2021 school year that was completely online. I struggled with school before then. While most other kids struggled with that year, I did quite well compared to previous years. The main reason was because of it being online and not needing to move every hour. The other reason being that I was by myself in a room and being able to do assignments mostly at the pace I could handle without distractions.

I began creating my universe in response to other sci-fi stories either not having an established creation origin or assumes the flawed logic of evolution. These stories have become more and more overrun with “woke” values that have negatively affected those involved in creating them. My sci-fi universe upholds Biblical ideals and values without ignoring real-world issues.
The first connections to a Biblical story start with the fact that ”the Series” takes place in a world that is parallel to our own. The Genesis portion within “the Series” mainly consists of implied connections to the greater narrative of the overarching story. A primary focus of “the Series” is a type of energy (reality energy, or R.E.) that forms the foundation of our universe. “The Series” starts only a short time after man dispersed across the Earth. The mythologies within “The Series” originate from a small group of people, not by any bad intention, but by groups misperceiving the technology that their primary civilization built.
The explanation for more “alien” environments, creatures, etc., is a concept I call Reality Energy Disfigurement, which can transform the aforementioned beyond recognition. Before the start of “The Series”, mankind corrupted the world, causing reality to fracture, which mirrors the Biblical story. One person believed that they alone could control reality themselves. Their ancient civilization created the most powerful device ever conceptualized, called the Inter-Reality Molecular Reorganization Construction Machine, or I.R.M.R.C.M. Device. It is capable of harnessing reality energy for powering a singularity-method inter-reality rift device at its core. The IRMRCM Device gives power over all matter across all of reality.
To their surprise, along with a resistance force, the device cannot handle all of reality being shoved through it. It can cause a mass-overload event that would destroy everything. Reality crystals are solidified; stable reality energy has an infinite scaling energy drawn from it, thus causing the crystal to break and shatter like glass. It then explodes with a force far surpassing antimatter.

There is a lot going on for my life, from a simple Portal 2 mod to an entire sci-fi universe I’ve been developing. However, we aren’t able to pay for a college education even with government financial aid and the scholarships I’ve been offered. As deadlines are approaching, we’ve only become further discouraged. The financial aid offered is mostly loans, which won’t work for us. We are living paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford to spend more. The large state schools would be more affordable, but they either don’t have my degree program, don’t have special needs accommodations, or are so large they would be an overwhelming environment for a neurodivergent person like myself. The smaller colleges that do have my degree program and accommodations are unaffordable. If we were to take out the loans, it would mean default, ruined credit, bankruptcy, and maybe even homelessness.

My artistic abilities have allowed me to have creative self-expression and have helped me to overcome my autism. I started with simple art that piqued my inspiration in elementary school. Because of my IEP, I had to take other living skills classes and wasn’t allowed to take art until the last semester of 8th grade. That’s when I began creating a sci-fi world called Troneria (renamed from Tropia), a hyper-advanced civilization of 900+ galaxies. It started as sketches of spacecrafts and an alien alphabet but then developed into “forge world” planets of heavily industrialized structures and machinery. I made this sci-fi world realistic and feasible due to the spread of a particular art style that overemphasizes things that don’t happen in our world. I free-hand all my drawings without using straight edges. My artwork has been selected for the school district art show many times.
Now I’m deciding where I would like to go with my creative abilities. I recently started a large project to create a modified game from an existing one. Portal 2, a game available on the Steam online store made by Valve, allows players to create and upload their own puzzles, or “mods”. I created a YouTube channel to share my work: https://www.youtube.com/@JHSG01. I also started teaching myself the 3D modeling tool Blender to begin digitizing my art. It started as sketches of spacecrafts and an alien alphabet but then developed into “forge world” planets of heavily industrialized structures and machinery. I free-hand all my drawings without using straight edges.
My artwork has been selected for the school district art show many times. My high school art teacher, Amy May, has helped me develop pieces for a portfolio to get into art school. With her help and recommendation letter, I was accepted to to all three art schools I applied to. My dream is to continue to develop my Sci-fi world. I want to go to a specialized art college where I can major in game design and concept art. There I will be able to team up with film students, creative writing students, fashion design students, and animators to help me bring my sci-fi universe to life. While I will be starting with game design, I hope my ideas will extend to TV and film. I want people to be able to immerse themselves in the world I’ve built – the “next George Lucas”, as my mom likes to say.

My artistic abilities have allowed me to have creative self-expression and have helped me to overcome my autism. I started with simple art that piqued my inspiration in elementary school. Because of my IEP, I had to take other living skills classes and wasn’t allowed to take art until the last semester of 8th grade. That’s when I began one of my best creations that is still in progress. My main inspirations are Star Wars, Star Trek, and Stargate. I made this sci-fi world realistic and feasible due to the spread of a particular art style that overemphasizes things that don’t happen in our world.
Now I’m deciding where I would like to go with my creative abilities. I started teaching myself a 3D modeling tool called Blender to begin digitizing my art. I’ve applied to and have been accepted by three art schools and will be attending College for Creative Studies (Detroit, MI) in the Fall.
My dream is to continue to develop my Sci-fi world. I want to go to a specialized art college where I can major in game design and concept art. The people of this world I’ve built are humans that came from Earth thousands of years ago. They developed much faster than the rest of humanity. Due to their exposure to reality energy and the advanced technology they were building, they left Earth. They are known on Earth as legends that gave rise to Greek and Roman mythologies. One of their more advanced inventions is tetronium alloy, an extremely strong metal forged from titanium, tungsten, and the yet undiscovered tetrum. Another is the I.R.M.R.C.M (Inter-Reality Molecular Reorganization Construction Machine). The IRMRCM device allows advanced construction down to the atomic level by using advanced electro-magnetic fields to manipulate matter. The zero-gravity quantum counter-force generator (or drag generators) are used to make spacecraft able to fly as if they are in an atmosphere instead of space. They have entire planets dedicated to manufacturing their many goods and industrial products called “forge worlds”. No one lives on forge worlds. They commute from other planets within the star system. My mom says she’ll never complain about her commute again.
Although I may not be a writer, I hope this has been worth your time and consideration.

I am creating a sci-fi world called Troneria, a hyper-advanced civilization of 900+ galaxies. It started as sketches of spacecrafts and an alien alphabet but then developed into “forge world” planets of heavily industrialized structures and machinery. The people of this world I’ve built are humans that came from Earth thousands of years ago. They developed much faster than the rest of humanity. Due to their exposure to reality energy and the advanced technology they were building, they left Earth. They are known on Earth as legends that gave rise to Greek and Roman mythologies.
The first connections to the Biblical story start with the fact that ”the Series” takes place in a world that is parallel to our own. The mythologies within “The Series” originate from a small group of people, not by any malintention, but by groups misperceiving the technology that their primary civilization built.
My dream is to continue to develop my sci-fi world. I will be attending a specialized art college where I will be majoring in Entertainment Arts. There I will be able to team up with film students, creative writing students, fashion design students, and animators to help me bring my sci-fi universe to life. While I will be starting with game design, I hope my ideas will extend to TV and film – the “next George Lucas”, as my mom likes to say.

I’ve struggled most of my life because of my differences - that being autism. I had constant struggles with change and having to overcome near-daily meltdowns because of my autism. Transitions have always been difficult for me, like between elementary to junior high, then to high school, also having to move to a new house. In 12th grade I adapted quickly compared to 9th grade, when I had to deal with my entire family being torn apart. As I got better at adjusting, I started to get good behavioral recognition and good grades due to the improvements I made.

However, I will not be able to attend college without additional large amounts of scholarships. We aren’t able to pay for a college education even with government financial aid and the large scholarships I’ve been offered.

Now I’m deciding where I would like to go with my creative abilities. I recently started a large project to create a modified game from an existing one. Portal 2, a game available on the Steam online store made by Valve, allows players to create and upload their own puzzles, or “mods”. I’ve been building my mod for 2 years and have uploaded 10 puzzles as teasers with mostly good feedback.
I’ve applied to and have been accepted by three art schools (College for Creative Studies – Detroit, MI, Columbus College of Art & Design – Columbus, OH, and Full Sail University – Winter Park, FL). Two of the three have offered me generous scholarships. However, I will not be able to attend college without additional large amounts of scholarships. Self-motivation combined with taking initiative is part of what I am acquiring with these large projects. When I’m not creating for my art classes, I work on my sci-fi world after school, on weekends, and during summer.
My dream is to continue to develop my Tropian world.
Tropians are humans that came from Earth thousands of years ago. Tropians have entire planets dedicated to manufacturing their many goods and industrial products called “forge worlds”. No one lives on forge worlds. They commute from other planets within the star system. My mom says she’ll never complain about her commute again.
Although I am not a writer, I hope this has been worth your time and consideration.

Gaming has inspired my creative talents in art and world building. My artistic abilities have allowed me to have creative self-expression and have helped me to overcome my autism. My main inspirations are Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate, Portal, Half-Life, and Minecraft. I am creating a sci-fi world called Tropia, a hyper-advanced civilization of 900+ galaxies. It started as sketches of spacecrafts and an alien alphabet with computer font but then developed into “forge world” planets of heavily industrialized structures and machinery. Hopefully the time it takes for me to adapt to change gets shorter than it is now based off my school experiences.
The 2020-2021 school year that was completely online. I struggled with school before then. While most other kids struggled with that year, I did quite well compared to previous years because school was online and I didn't need to move every hour. The other reason being that I was by myself in a room and being able to do assignments mostly at the pace I could handle without distractions.
My artistic abilities have allowed me to have creative self-expression and have helped me to overcome my autism. I started with simple art that piqued my inspiration in elementary school. Minecraft Forever Fan Scholarship
My favorite part of the game is that I can build anything I can imagine whether it is some contraption, a house, or some immense mega project.
I first discovered Minecraft around 3rd grade. Most of what I was doing then was getting accustomed to the controls with very simple builds. Since then, I’ve built trains and redstone-powered amusement parks as a substitute for Railroad/Rollercoaster Tycoon. One year I made my mom a flower garden in Minecraft for Mother’s Day.
Although I don’t remember the exact time fame of my best build, I estimate it around 4th or 5th grade. We were binge-watching Star Trek, and I decided to build a Minecraft version of the Enterprise. The small craft was large enough to have multiple rooms and walkways, including the bridge and the holodeck and included villagers in different colored shirts.
Minecraft ultimately started me on a path that led me to world-building and eventually to the sci-fi world I now have. I have been developing my sci-fi universe for around 6 years. I did try building some of my sci-fi world creations in Minecraft. Due to the gargantuan locations, my attempts showed me that the scale I’m working with is larger than what I alone can make in Minecraft.
I’m applying to art colleges with a major in concept art for game design/film where I can team up with writers and film students to bring my Tropian world to life.
