Hi, my name is Josh Cranford, and I am going to tell you how my family and I's faith in the Lord helped change the aspect of our lives. One of the first is when I didn't get the oppurtinity to play basketball at the school I was going to. I was so sad, my favorite sport that I loved, and I couldn't even play it. But that's changed because two summers ago is when COVID hit. During COVID, I had neighborhood friends that I hung out with every day. They played basketball for a Christian homeschool team. So when I told them that I didn't make the team, they were sad, but they asked if I could play with them. That meant my family and I would switch from the everyday school lifestyle to a homeschool lifestyle. We prayed about it for a long, long time. A summer camp came that they were hosting, and we decided that I would go to one of them and see how I liked it. As soon as I stepped through the doors and onto the court, I could tell the Lord was calling me here. Right after it ended, my parents and I made the decision to play, and I was able to play there for my whole high school career. Having close wins and losses, state championship wins and losses, all the buzzer beaters we hit and got hit on, drove the team, my family, and me closer to the Lord because we know that without putting our faith on the line and trusting in his plan, none of this would have happened. Being able to grow closer with friends, family, and making new friends and teammates that became brothers was such a blessing to be able to do because knew the plans he had for me and that all I had to do was put my faith first and trust in Him because without faith in the Lord, I would still be at school probably not playing the sport that helped grow closer to the Lord. Coming this fall for my first year of college, I am blessed to be able to play college ball at the D3 level. I can't wait to see how the Lord works in my life and everyone around me! I love the Lord, and I hope this shows anyone how he can work. The scholarship matters, but what matters most is your faith.
