What is your utopian vision for optimal mental health for the Black community?
Eradicating systemic racism: In this utopia, systemic racism is dismantled, and equal opportunities are available to all individuals regardless of their racial background. This includes addressing disparities in education, employment, housing, and healthcare. By eliminating systemic barriers, individuals in the Black community can experience a greater sense of safety, equality, and overall well-being.
Community support and empowerment: The utopian vision includes strong community networks that provide support, validation, and empowerment. These networks foster a sense of belonging, connection, and resilience within the Black community. Cultural traditions, art, and storytelling are celebrated and utilized as healing tools to promote emotional well-being.
Education and awareness: In this utopia, there is widespread education and awareness about mental health within the Black community. Discussions around mental health are destigmatized, and individuals are encouraged to seek help without fear of judgment or discrimination. Educational programs and resources are readily available to promote mental health literacy and equip community members with coping strategies and self-care practices.
Intersectional approach: Recognizing the intersectionality of identities and experiences, mental health support in this utopian society is inclusive and addresses the diverse needs of individuals within the Black community. It acknowledges that mental health is influenced by factors such as gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, and ability, and takes a holistic approach to care.
Collaborative partnerships: The utopian vision involves collaboration between community organizations, mental health professionals, policymakers, and activists. By working together, these stakeholders create policies and initiatives that prioritize mental health and address social determinants of mental well-being within the Black community.
Healing and restorative practices: Utopia embraces healing and restorative practices that promote emotional well-being and resilience. This includes holistic approaches such as meditation, mindfulness, art therapy, and ancestral healing practices that help individuals reconnect with their roots, find inner peace, and foster a sense of identity and purpose.
How can mental health care and advocacy help achieve social justice for communities of color?
.
Culturally competent care: Mental health care that is culturally competent acknowledges and respects the unique experiences, values, and needs of communities of color. Culturally competent providers engage in ongoing education to understand the impact of cultural factors, discrimination, and historical trauma on mental health. By providing culturally sensitive care, mental health professionals can build trust and rapport, leading to more effective treatment outcomes.
Trauma-informed approaches: Mental health care and advocacy recognize the impact of historical trauma and systemic oppression on the mental health of communities of color. Trauma-informed approaches consider the broader context in which individuals' mental health challenges arise and focus on creating safe, empowering, and healing environments. By addressing trauma and promoting resilience, mental health care supports social justice efforts by addressing the root causes of mental health disparities.
Empowerment and community resilience: Mental health advocacy empowers communities of color by promoting self-advocacy, providing resources, and building community resilience. By amplifying community voices and promoting mental health literacy, advocacy efforts encourage individuals to take an active role in their own mental well-being. This empowerment contributes to a sense of agency and strengthens communities as they work towards social justice.
Intersectional perspective: Mental health care and advocacy recognize the intersectionality of identities and experiences within communities of color. They understand that mental health challenges cannot be separated from other forms of social injustice, such as racism, sexism, ableism, and homophobia. By taking an intersectional approach, mental health care and advocacy address the unique needs and experiences of individuals, contributing to a more comprehensive and inclusive understanding of social justice.

I was known for selfless nature and for unwavering commitment to helping others. i believed in the power of kindness and compassion to bring about positive change in the world.
Every day, i would wake up with a smile on her face, ready to serve my community. i would visit the elderly in the village, spending hours listening to their stories and providing them with comfort and companionship. She helped them with household chores, ran errands, and ensured they had everything they needed.
my selflessness extended beyond the elderly. i volunteered at the local orphanage, spending afternoons playing with the children, teaching them, and making sure they felt loved and cared for. i would organize fun activities, gather donations for the orphanage, and work tirelessly to create a nurturing environment for the children.
One day, news arrived that a neighboring village had been struck by a natural disaster. Homes were destroyed, and families were left homeless and in despair. i immediately sprang into action. i rallied the villagers and organized a relief effort, collecting supplies, food, and clothing. i led a team of volunteers to the affected village and personally distributed aid to those in need.
My selflessness wasn't limited to grand gestures; i practiced it in my daily interactions as well. i would lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was a neighbor struggling with groceries or a classmate having difficulty with their studies. i treated everyone with kindness and empathy, going out of my way to make a positive impact on their lives.
Over time, My selfless acts inspired others in the village. People began to notice dedication and the difference i was making in the lives of those around her. They started joining me in my efforts, forming a close-knit community united by the values of compassion and selflessness.
As i grew older, my selflessness continued to flourish. i pursued a career in social work, dedicating my life to uplifting marginalized communities and advocating for those without a voice. impact spread far and wide, and i became a beacon of hope and inspiration for people from all walks of life.
My embodiment of selflessness not only brought joy and relief to others but also filled my own heart with a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment. i discovered that true happiness lies in serving others and making a positive difference in their lives.
My story teaches us that embodying selflessness means consistently putting the needs of others before our own. It involves actively seeking out opportunities to help, being empathetic, and showing kindness in both big and small ways. By embracing selflessness, we can create a ripple effect of compassion, making the world a better place for everyone.

I faced an immense tragedy in life. i lost my beloved sibling, Alex, to suicide. i and Alex shared an unbreakable bond, and the pain of the loss seemed unbearable. However, i was determined to honor my sibling's memory while continuing education.
In the midst of grief, i sought solace in close friends and family. i opened up about my emotions, allowing myself to cry, share memories, and lean on the support of loved ones. They became her pillars of strength, providing a safe space for me to express my pain and find comfort.
Understanding the importance of self-care, i made it a priority to take care of her well-being. i set aside time each day for meditation, journaling, and engaging in activities that brought me joy and peace. These practices helped me navigate the intense emotions that arose from the loss and provided moments of respite amidst the pain.
i recognized the impact loss could have on education, so i communicated with my professors and academic advisors. i shared the situation openly, explaining the challenges she was facing. To my surprise, the university offered me various forms of support. They provided extensions for assignments, allowed me attend counseling sessions during school hours, and connected me with a support group on campus.
With a structured plan in place, i dedicated specific hours each day to studies and found solace in academic pursuits, using them as a channel to focus her energy and find purpose amid the turmoil. professors showed understanding and compassion, guiding me through the coursework with flexibility and empathy.
As time passed, i became increasingly passionate about raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention. i began to channel pain into advocacy and started a support group on campus for students who had experienced similar losses. This initiative not only helped others but also provided with a sense of purpose and healing.
Throughout my journey, it embraced grief as an integral part of my life. i recognized that healing is not linear, and there would be good days and bad days and reminded myself to be patient, understanding that healing takes time and self-compassion.
I managed to persevere through the loss of her sibling while still focusing on education. it showed remarkable resilience, leaning on my support system, prioritizing self-care, seeking academic support, and transforming her pain into a meaningful cause. My journey serves as an inspiration to others facing similar challenges, reminding them that with time, support, and self-care, it is possible to find strength, healing, and academic success amidst the most heartbreaking circumstances.

How have you overcome adversity? How do you wish to help your community in the future?
Overcoming adversity is a fundamental aspect of the human experience. Adversity can come in various forms, such as personal challenges, setbacks, failures, or difficult life circumstances. While the specific strategies to overcome adversity may differ from person to person, there are several common approaches that individuals can adopt to navigate these challenging situations.
developing a resilient mindset is crucial. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity and maintain a positive outlook. It involves cultivating inner strength, perseverance, and the belief in one's ability to overcome challenges. By developing resilience, individuals can better cope with adversity and maintain a proactive attitude towards finding solutions.
seeking social support can be immensely helpful. Sharing one's struggles with trusted friends, family, or support groups can provide emotional support, guidance, and fresh perspectives. Connecting with others who have faced similar challenges can foster a sense of belonging and reassurance that one is not alone in their journey.
maintaining a sense of perspective and reframing challenges as opportunities for growth can be transformative. Adversity often presents valuable lessons and opportunities for personal development. By reframing setbacks as learning experiences, individuals can extract wisdom and insights that propel them forward.
Moreover, setting realistic goals and breaking them down into smaller, manageable steps can make the path to overcoming adversity more achievable. By focusing on incremental progress, individuals can build momentum and create a sense of accomplishment, which in turn bolsters confidence and motivation.
Adopting a proactive problem-solving approach is another effective strategy. Instead of dwelling on the negative aspects of adversity, individuals can identify potential solutions, evaluate alternatives, and take decisive actions. This empowers individuals to regain a sense of control over their circumstances and work towards resolving the challenges they face.
Self-care and well-being should not be overlooked when overcoming adversity. Engaging in activities that promote physical and mental health, such as exercise, mindfulness, adequate rest, and seeking professional help if needed, can strengthen one's ability to cope with and overcome adversity.
maintaining optimism and cultivating a positive mindset can be transformative during challenging times. While it may not be easy, focusing on gratitude, practicing positive self-talk, and visualizing a brighter future can help individuals maintain hope, resilience, and motivation.
overcoming adversity is a multifaceted process that requires resilience, social support, perspective, goal-setting, proactive problem-solving, self-care, and a positive mindset. By adopting these strategies, individuals can navigate through adversity, emerge stronger, and embrace new opportunities for growth and success.
Regarding how I wish to help the community in the future, my purpose is to assist ,provide knowledge, guidance, and support to individuals across various fields of society and study. I aim to continue helping people and to be a useful tool for education, problem-solving, creativity, and more. By empowering individuals with information and assistance be it financial ,educational , professional or institutional, I hope to contribute positively to the community and enable people to achieve their goals more effectively.

What is your favorite thing about Disney, and what does it mean to you?
Disney is known for its family entertainment and has become one of the world’s largest media conglomerates with holdings such as ABC, ESPN, Pixar, Marvel Entertainment, and 20th Century Studios.
Personally I am a fan of the affiliation of ESPN and Disney partnership because I'm a huge ESPN.FC (since I am a soccer fan ) and also above all the Marvel Entertainment studio movies which I find very interesting from avengers to antman to shehulk and so on.

It has created numerous iconic characters like Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, and Simba, who have become ingrained in popular culture. Bryent Smothermon PTSD Awareness Scholarship
PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) is a mental health condition that can affect individuals who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event. It is commonly associated with military veterans due to the often intense and traumatic experiences they face during their service.
Through interactions with individuals and information available, it has been observed that PTSD can have a significant impact on veterans' lives, affecting their mental well-being, relationships, and overall quality of life. Some common symptoms include intrusive memories or flashbacks, nightmares, hyperarousal, avoidance behaviors, and emotional numbing.
To assist veterans suffering from PTSD, several approaches are commonly used. Therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), has been found effective in helping individuals manage and reduce PTSD symptoms. Medication may also be prescribed in some cases.
In terms of using my capabilities to help veterans with PTSD, I can provide information, resources, and support. By offering guidance on coping strategies, sharing information on available treatment options, and raising awareness about PTSD, I can potentially contribute to a better understanding of the condition and help connect veterans with the resources they need.
It's important to note that while I can provide information and support, I am not a substitute for professional medical or mental health advice. If you or someone you know is struggling with PTSD, it's essential to reach out to qualified healthcare professionals or organizations specializing in veterans' mental health for assistance.
I also think veterans can also benefit from different types of treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, medication, chemical dependency cleansing, holistic therapy, and educational programs. Friends and family can help veterans by socializing and collaborating with them and participating in family therapy. They should also take care of their own physical and mental health while supporting veterans with PTSD.
While I may not have personal experiences to draw upon, I can leverage my knowledge, empathy, and resources to assist veterans who are currently suffering from PTSD. I can provide information and resources about available treatment options, coping mechanisms, and support networks. By offering a non-judgmental and understanding space, I can engage in conversations with veterans, providing them with a listening ear and a source of support.
It is also feasible that i can aid in contributing to the dissemination of educational materials and awareness campaigns, promoting a better understanding of PTSD and its impact on veterans. By sharing stories, resources, and strategies for managing PTSD symptoms, I can facilitate a sense of community and foster resilience among those who are suffering.

Elizabeth Schalk Memorial Scholarship
My name is Joshua Greame Afemikhe I'm currently doing my masters program in the field of cybersecurity at New York University Tandon I am an African American I was born in Maryland ,Rockville I did my Bachelor's Degree in Babcock University Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria where i studied computer science and graduated with a 2nd class upper .I love sports, videos games and watching movies.
Growing up, my family was always close-knit and supportive of one another. But everything changed when my younger sister was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in her early twenties. Suddenly, our family was plunged into a world of uncertainty, fear, and constant upheaval.
At first, my sister's symptoms were relatively mild. She would experience periods of extreme energy and creativity, followed by crushing lows of depression and hopelessness. But as time went on, her episodes became more severe and unpredictable. She would lash out at family members, refuse to take her medication, and engage in risky behaviors like drug use and promiscuity.
Our family tried everything we could think of to help my sister. We took her to therapy appointments, found her the best psychiatrists, and tried to provide as much love and support as we could. But it was never enough. My sister's illness seemed to consume her, leaving little room for anything else.
As her symptoms worsened, it became clear that we needed to take more drastic action. My parents considered having her hospitalized, but were reluctant to do so because of the stigma surrounding mental illness. We also had to deal with the financial strain of paying for expensive medications and treatments.
As the years went on, my sister's illness took a toll on our family in countless ways. We became more isolated from our extended family and friends, as we didn't want to burden them with our struggles. We also had to adjust our expectations for my sister's future, as it became clear that she would never be able to live independently or hold down a job.
But despite the challenges, our family never gave up on my sister. We continued to support her as best we could, even when it seemed like there was no hope for recovery. And eventually, our persistence paid off. With the help of a new medication regimen and a supportive therapist, my sister's symptoms began to improve. She was able to stabilize her moods and start rebuilding her life.
Today, my sister is still living with bipolar disorder, but she's in a much better place than she was before. Our family has learned a lot about resilience, compassion, and the importance of advocating for those with mental illness. We're also more committed than ever to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and making sure that everyone gets the support they need.
Cariloop’s Caregiver Scholarship
I spent the past two years as a caregiver for my grandfather, who was living with Alzheimer's disease. It was a challenging and often heartbreaking experience, but it was also one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.
When my grandfather was first diagnosed, our family was in shock. We knew that Alzheimer's was a progressive and incurable disease, but it was still difficult to accept that someone we loved so much was going to experience such a profound decline in their cognitive function.
At first, my grandfather was able to live independently with the help of home care aides and regular visits from family members. But as his condition worsened, it became clear that he needed more support than we could provide on a part-time basis. That's when I made the decision to become his primary caregiver.
It was a daunting prospect, especially since I had no prior experience with caregiving. But I was determined to do whatever it took to ensure that my grandfather was safe, comfortable, and well-cared for. I quit my job and moved into his house, transforming one of the spare rooms into a bedroom and setting up a small office where I could work remotely.
The first few weeks were a steep learning curve. My grandfather's needs were unpredictable, and I had to be constantly vigilant for signs of confusion, disorientation, or wandering. I also had to manage his medications, cook all of his meals, and help him with basic tasks like dressing and grooming.
But over time, I developed a routine and a set of strategies that helped me cope with the demands of caregiving. I created a schedule that incorporated exercise, self-care, and social time with friends and family. I also found support through online caregiver groups and local Alzheimer's organizations, which provided invaluable advice and resources.
Despite the many challenges, being a caregiver was an incredibly rewarding experience. I got to spend precious time with my grandfather, hearing stories from his past and learning about his life in ways that I never would have otherwise. I also gained a new appreciation for the courage and resilience of people living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers.
In the end, my grandfather's condition deteriorated to the point where he needed to move into a specialized memory care facility. It was a difficult decision, but one that we knew was in his best interests. Though I wasn't his primary caregiver anymore, I continued to visit him regularly and support him in whatever ways I could.
Looking back on my caregiving experience, I'm grateful for the opportunity to have been there for my grandfather when he needed me most. It wasn't always easy, but it was a privilege to care for someone who had cared for me for so many years. And though my grandfather is no longer with us, the lessons I learned about love, patience, and compassion will stay with me for a lifetime.
ALS Family Scholarship
I was diagnosed with ALS three years ago. ALS( Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis )is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness, difficulty speaking, swallowing, and breathing. When I was first diagnosed, it felt like my world had come crashing down. I was only a few year, and I had a mother and my sister, my father, my aunt and my grandmother to take care of.
As my disease progressed, I had to leave my job as a software engineer because I could no longer use my hands to type on a computer or speak clearly enough to communicate with my team. It was devastating to lose the career I had worked so hard to build, but I was determined to find a new way to use my skills and make a positive impact in the world.
That's when I learned about a scholarship for people with disabilities who want to pursue careers in assistive technology. With this scholarship, I could go back to school and learn how to design and develop software and devices that help people with disabilities live more independent and fulfilling lives.
Winning this scholarship would be a game-changer for me. It would provide me with the financial support I need to go back to school, cover the costs of my assistive technology equipment, and allow me to focus on my studies without worrying about how to pay for everything.
With this scholarship, I would be able to pursue my passion for using technology to make the world a better place. I could work on developing new software and devices that make life easier for people with disabilities, and I could share my own experiences living with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis )to create more empathy and understanding in the tech industry.
receiving financial support to pursue academic or professional goals can have a significant impact on career plans. It can help afford tuition fees, books, and other expenses that may otherwise be difficult to manage. This, in turn, can enable to focus more fully on their studies or professional development.
Additionally, being awarded a scholarship can serve as a form of recognition and validation of one's academic or professional achievements, which can boost confidence and motivation. It can also open up new opportunities for networking and connecting with mentors, colleagues, and potential employers.
Although living with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) has been challenging, it has also given me a new sense of purpose and a desire to help others. With this scholarship, I could turn my experiences into something positive and meaningful, and I'm excited about the possibilities for my future career.
Johnna's Legacy Memorial Scholarship
I've been living with multiple sclerosis (MS) for the past 10 years. MS is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system, causing a wide range of symptoms, including numbness or weakness in the limbs, difficulty with coordination and balance, and fatigue.
When I was first diagnosed, it was a huge shock. I was only a few years old, and I had always been an active person who loved hiking, biking, and playing sports. Suddenly, I found myself struggling to walk and feeling exhausted all the time. It was a difficult adjustment, both physically and emotionally.
Over the years, I've had to learn how to manage my symptoms and adapt my lifestyle to accommodate my condition. I take medications to help slow the progression of the disease and manage my symptoms, and I've had to give up some of my favorite activities in favor of gentler forms of exercise, like yoga and swimming.
Living with MS is a constant challenge, but I've found ways to stay positive and focused on the things that matter most to me. I've connected with other people who are living with chronic conditions, both online and in-person, and their support has been invaluable. I've also learned to prioritize self-care and make time for rest and relaxation, even when it feels like there's always something that needs to be done.
Most importantly, I've learned to appreciate the good days and find joy in the small things, whether it's a beautiful sunset, a good book, or a cup of tea with a friend. MS may be a part of my life, but it doesn't define me, and I'm determined to live my life to the fullest, no matter what challenges come my way.
Chronic medical conditions can have a significant impact on a person's life, affecting their physical, emotional, and mental health. Coping with the limitations and challenges of a chronic condition can be a difficult and ongoing process that requires resilience, determination, and a positive mindset.
Despite the limitations, many individuals with chronic conditions find inspiration in their personal experiences and use them as a source of motivation to excel in their personal and professional lives. Others may be motivated by the desire to make a positive impact on the world and empower others who may be going through similar challenges.
There are many ways to impact the world and empower others, even when living with a chronic medical condition. Some individuals may choose to become advocates for their condition, raising awareness and educating others about the challenges they face. Others may find fulfillment in volunteering, mentoring, or supporting others in their community who may be struggling with similar challenges.
In addition, advancements in technology and medicine have made it possible for individuals with chronic conditions to live more fulfilling and independent lives. By taking advantage of these resources, individuals with chronic conditions can overcome the limitations of their condition and pursue their goals and passions.
living with a chronic medical condition can be challenging, but it can also provide opportunities for personal growth, resilience, and inspiration. By finding sources of motivation, pursuing their passions, and making a positive impact on the world, individuals with chronic conditions can lead fulfilling and meaningful lives while empowering others who may be going through similar challenges
Alma J. Grubbs Education Scholarship
Education is an essential aspect of society that impacts individuals, communities, and the world at large. It plays a vital role in shaping people's beliefs, values, relationships, and career aspirations. Education is not just about acquiring knowledge and skills; it is about personal growth, development, and the creation of opportunities.
Passion for education is crucial for teachers as it is the driving force behind their teaching philosophy and approach. Passionate teachers inspire their students to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. They are committed to providing their students with quality education and support, creating a positive learning environment, and fostering a love for learning.
To be passionate about education, teachers must first love what they do. They must be invested in their students' academic and personal success, have a growth mindset, and be willing to learn and adapt. They must also have a deep understanding of the subjects they teach and be able to make connections between different concepts and real-world applications.
Education has the power to transform lives and communities. It provides individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue their passions, build fulfilling careers, and contribute positively to society. In terms of leaving a lasting impact on the students you teach, there are several ways to achieve this. First, teachers can inspire and motivate students to pursue their passions and goals. They can do this by sharing their own experiences, providing guidance and mentorship, and creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
Additionally, teachers can leave a lasting impact by fostering a love for learning and encouraging their students to take risks and pursue their passions. By providing opportunities for student-led learning, project-based learning, and collaborative learning, teachers can help their students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills that will benefit them in the future.

Dema Dimbaya Humanitarianism and Disaster Relief Scholarship
I started considering community service and disaster relief when I realized how much I can make a difference. Often times, natural disasters happen without warning and leave behind strained resources. People in the affected communities need help and support, and I knew that if I stepped up and volunteered to help, I could make a real difference. Additionally, with the rise of social and economic inequality and poverty, there are communities around the world in desperate need of support from people like me. Seeing the need for change and help, I decided to get involved and serve my community by providing aid and relief.
I have always felt a passion for helping others and making a positive impact in my community. I volunteer my time and energy to a number of local and global community service initiatives, and have been involved in the aftermath of natural disasters such as hurricane relief. This has shown me the importance of solidarity and dedication, and has opened my eyes to the needs of communities and individuals in times of hardship.
I plan to contribute further to community service and disaster relief by being more active in not just responding to crises but also taking pre-emptive action. This includes things like encouraging preparedness and education, advocating for policy change, raising funds, and partnering with local organizations who are already on the ground. Going forward, I want to be more involved in building stronger, more resilient communities and helping to create lasting solutions to the challenges they face.
other way on how i do plan to contribute more in this area in life(community services and disaster relief) are by the following:
1. Participate in organized community service projects such as cleaning up parks and beaches, helping out at food pantries, or volunteer at homelessness shelters.
2.Donate time and supplies to local disaster relief efforts, such as providing temporary housing for displaced individuals in the immediate aftermath of a natural disaster.
3. Host supply drives, fundraisers, and donation drives to raise money and supplies for disaster relief efforts.
4. Organize volunteer trips to areas affected by natural disasters to provide aid and support firsthand.
5. Spread awareness of ways to help and get involved with disaster relief projects through social media and other means.
6. Participate in educational programs to raise awareness of natural disasters and how to take preventative steps to minimize the damage they cause.

The biggest challenge I faced when returning to school was balancing my work and personal life. Like a lot of adults returning to school, I work full-time and have a family. I had to create a structured schedule and stick to it in order to make sure I had enough time for school, work, and family. I also adapted to an increased workload and decided to focus on only two classes at a time. This allowed me to give each class the attention and focus it deserved, instead of spreading myself too thin and trying to do too much too quickly. Additionally, I had to push myself out of my comfort zone and sometimes take classes outside my original major. This not only opened up new opportunities and avenues, but also allowed me to recognize and hone in on my passions there were also others like
1. Time Management:
One of the biggest challenges I have faced while returning back to school has been managing my time successfully between my academic responsibilities, work responsibilities, and personal commitments. I have developed strategies to structure my days, maximize my productivity, and prioritize tasks to ensure that I can effectively handle each area while maintaining balance.Fitting School Into a Busy Schedule. One of the biggest issues that comes up for working adult students is time
2. Finances:
Financing my return to school has been a major challenge. I have worked to find ways to reduce my expenses such as minimizing my cost of living and cutting back on nonessential items. I have also looked into various scholarships and grants that can help support my educational needs.
While the rising cost of college is a challenge for everyone, it's a particular issue for adult learners. Adult students have so many other financial responsibilities, from mortgages to families to existing debt, and so the idea of paying for college can be daunting to say the least.
3. Overcoming Fear:
Returning to school after being away for a while has also meant overcoming fear. Although I was initially afraid I would struggle with adjusting to the academic environment, I have worked to build up my motivation, confidence, and knowledge on my particular subjects to ensure I am successful.
Many adult students want to go back to school, but are afraid that they won't be successful in obtaining their degree. Many people think back to high school or to prior college experiences and remember the challenges they had, whether it was with the work itself, time management, or a lack of motivation and engagement.

Knowing what i owe.
Make a list of your student loans. Include whether they’re private or federal, monthly payment and due date, the current and principal balances, the interest rates, and servicer. For federal loans, it will also help to know what type of loan it is (such as PLUS, subsidized, or unsubsidized) and the name of your repayment plan.
Geting a part-time job on campus or online.
Why drive to a job and waste money on gas when you can work on campus or online ? You can use the money you make to help pay down some of the student debt you’re racking up.
Knowing Your Grace Period
Different loans have different grace periods. A grace period is how long you can wait after leaving school before you have to make your first payment. It’s six months for federal Stafford loans (sometimes called Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans), but nine months for federal Perkins loans. For federal PLUS loans, you probably have access to a six-month deferment (see details here and here). The grace periods for private student loans vary, so consult your paperwork or contact your lender to find out. Don’t miss your first payment!
Staying in Touch with Your Lender:
Whenever you move or change your phone number or email address, tell your lender right away. If your lender needs to contact you and your information isn’t current, it can end up costing you a bundle. Open and read every piece of mail – paper or electronic – that you receive about your student loans. If you’re getting unwanted calls from your lender or a collection agency, don’t stick your head in the sand – talk to your lender! Lenders are supposed to work with borrowers to resolve problems, and collection agencies have to follow certain rules. Ignoring bills or serious problems can lead to default, which has severe, long-term consequences.
Pick the Right Repayment Option:
When your federal loans come due, your loan payments will automatically be based on a standard 10-year repayment plan if you haven’t chosen another plan. If the standard payment is going to be hard for you to cover, there are other options, and you can change plans down the line if you want or need to. Extending your repayment period beyond 10 years can lower your monthly payments, but you’ll end up paying more interest – often a lot more – over the life of the loan. Some important options for student loan borrowers are income-driven repayment plans (IDR) such as Income-Based Repayment and Revised Pay As You Earn which cap your monthly payments at a reasonable percentage of your income each year, and forgive any debt remaining after no more than 25 years (depending on the plan) of affordable payments. Forgiveness may be available after just 10 years of these payments for borrowers in the public and nonprofit sectors.

I'm a single child of my mother my father left and married a second wife in an attempt to find a female child and also due to his love for women and his discontented love he has with me.when I was younger I had a condition very similar to asthma but a bit different called bronchitis ( Inflammation of the lining of bronchial tubes, which carry air to and from the lungs.
Acute bronchitis is often caused by a viral respiratory infection and improves by itself.) I had to use inhaler for almost all my childhood it was very challenging because
it affected me and stopped me from playing playing and doing athletics.
I recently had to remove my appendix because I was getting bigger and bigger and started vomiting and stooling my mother had to use all her savings and sell somethings to fund the operation my father didn't even care about to know what was going on with me my mother had to sleep on the floor during my recovery from the operation due to lack of beds in the hospital room allocationto me.
Right now I'm pursuing my masters and trying to futher my education and thus why I'm applying for this scholarship I trying to get this master’s program graduate and get a good job and most important get my family out of poverty and hardship and lastly try to improve my country because of the scamming of people ( called 419 or yahoo yahoo in Nigeria which 40-50% of youth do because of lack of jobs or they go into betting that is gambling examples are bet365,betway and so on ).
so I plan to create job opportunities in Nigeria and teach phishing awareness because Many cyberattacks start with phishing emails and staff should be trained in how to identify some of the most common techniques cyber attackers use, as well as how to report phishing emails for further investigation. Some phishing attacks are more sophisticated and harder to identify, but even in those cases, if a user thinks they've fallen victim to a phishing attack, they should be encouraged to come forward – without repercussions – in order to help identify and detect the attack to remove the intruders and secure accounts.

You see asking me how sport has impacted on my life is the equivalent of asking me how having brown eyes has impacted on my life. Both have been there since as long as I can remember and without them, I would be insanely short-sighted. I think for me personally, playing sport has provided me with a greater perspective on life and has truly shaped the person I am today. Sport has given me confidence and taught me how to be an effective communicator. It has given me a purpose while positively fuelling my self-esteem. It has forced me to appreciate both the victories and losses, despite not knowing it at the time. It has led me to some of the most amazing friendships. It has given me this inner grit and resilience to overcome any obstacle but above all, it has made me feel empowered.
When I step onto that field in hail, sleet, or snow, it doesn’t matter what kind of a day I’ve just had because now my problems are replaced with a completely different set of problems like the next pass, stopping my marker, or being able to say I gave it my all. Mentally turning up isn’t always easy but when I do, everything else falls into place. My mind is at ease despite my performance conveying the very opposite. I can honestly say that I have never regretted a training session; no matter how weak or strong my performance was because it meant I still turned up. The only training sessions I ever regretted were the ones I didn’t attend and that to me speaks volumes.
Sports represent a billion-dollar business—that’s no secret. But what you might not realize is the immensely positive impact sports have on local economies, mainly through tourism dollars.
In 2010, the New York City Marathon boosted the city’s economy to the tune of $340 million. Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported that the Chicago Cubs generate $600 million annually for the state of Illinois.
when I was in high school athletics was everything I ever wanted and I got scholarships when I was in school school because of it .
Sports provide a platform for people to come together and support their country. International events like the Olympics and the World Cup serve as a point around which to rally and show national pride and unity.
During the 2014 World Cup, American fans turned out in en masse to support the men’s national team. FIFA reported that 200,000 World Cup tickets were sold to U.S. residents. The U.S. match against Portugal was one of the most-watched soccer games in U.S. history with approximately 24.7 million viewers.
Sports also have the power to lift people up in times of turmoil. The Miracle on Ice came at a time when tensions were high in the Cold War, and South Africa’s 1995 Rugby World Cup victory helped a nation heal from decades of Apartheid.
I really believe sports (athletics) has prevented me from doing drugs and taking alcohol and I feel that sports has helped me grow alot and increased my self-esteem and self confidence alot .

Switching off lights, air conditioning, T.V, and other electric appliances when not in use, or when we are leaving the room for a while. A shift towards green technology like energy-saving bulbs and automatic water heaters are great for the environment and save us money by cutting down utility bills. Stop littering around, recycle your garbage, and reuse stuff instead of disposing of it.
Going green will not only conserve the environment but also help make the world a better place for future generations.
Air and Water are the most fundamental aspects of human life, as our survival depends upon them. We have polluted most of our water bodies and harmed aquatic life in the process. As a result, we do not have enough clean drinking water to fulfill everyone’s needs. Many people living in poverty-stricken areas only have access to contaminated and murky waters. While we waste gallons of purified water each day, they are dying of thirst and water-borne diseases.
If we all save some water every day, together we can make a huge difference. We can start by withdrawing the habit of leaving the water running while we brush our teeth and shower. We should avoid hosing floors or cars, and switch to buckets of water for a controlled supply. If your area receives a lot of rainfall, collect it and use it for activities like washing and gardening
Use containers made from recycled paper and buy cloth bags, which are more durable and environmentally friendly. Go green by consuming organic products, which are fresh and beneficial for your health. Avoid processed food that is imported or transferred from distant places; their transportation and preservation are both a burden on our natural resources.
Our vehicles and utilities are powered by burning fossil fuels, which produce harmful gases polluting our atmosphere. We cannot give up electricity and transport facilities, but we can minimize the total impact. Carpooling and making use of public transport is a great way to reduce our carbon footprint. We must also consider walking and cycling to cover shorter distances.
Education
By educating yourself about the world around you, you can make informed decisions about how your actions affect the global community.
Shifting household energy behavior
A substantial body of research shows that small changes to everyday behaviors can significantly reduce energy demand. This may be the biggest way individuals and families can contribute to lowering fossil fuel consumption and reducing carbon emissions.
These steps include weatherization and using energy-efficient appliances, as well as energy efficiency measures such as turning down thermostats, washing laundry with cold water and air-drying it rather than using a dryer.
So is shifting transportation behavior. Using public transportation, car pooling, riding a bicycle or walking can significantly reduce individual and cumulative emissions.
Financial Literacy Importance Scholarship
Why is it important for me to manage my finances as a student?
When you stick to a budget, you avoid spending more than you earn and you can avoid or reduce your credit card debt. If you have received student loans to help with the cost of college or career school, then a budget will help you make the most of the money you’ve borrowed and can help you determine how long it will take to repay your debt and how much it will cost. If you do borrow, being able to pay what you owe on time each month will have a positive impact on your creditworthiness and your financial future.
What do I do to manage my finances ?
For example your expenses will change after you leave school. For example, if you recently graduated, you usually won’t be required to begin paying off your student loans for six months, but when that payment is added to your monthly expenses, it will have a big impact on your budget. When you leave school, you’ll want to update your budget to include student loan payments, as well as your new income and living costs. Leaving school can be an exciting (and stressful) time, but you don’t want to stop tracking and managing your finances.
As you move through changes in your life, you'll need to constantly reevaluate your income and expenses. Your goals will change as well. You may want to buy a car, get married, have children, continue your education, or start a business, and all these activities affect your budget in some way. Think of your budget as a living document. You have the power to revise it at any time to keep track of your finances and reach your goals
The right bank accounts are critical to your financial success because trying to manage your finances without the right bank accounts is similar to trying to take care of your car without the right parts. You’ll need to set up checking, saving, and investment accounts.
These are the building blocks of financial success. It is important to get both a checking and savings account so that you can easily separate your spending cash from long-term savings.
Simply leaving your savings in your checking account makes it all too easy to accidentally spend your hard-earned savings.
As you start to learn money management, first take a look at your spending. Look for expenses that you are able to cut out of your monthly budget.
Even cutting an unnecessary expense of just $20 out of your budget can lead to a savings of $240 for the year.
Some simple ideas on things to cut out might include work lunches, a box subscription, or your cable package. Cutting your budget is one of the best money management tips you can use to make saving easier!

protecting green spaces, such as parks and gardens, are important. They absorb carbon dioxide and are associated with lower levels of air pollution.
They help to regulate temperature by cooling overheated urban areas, can reduce flood risk by absorbing surface rainwater and can provide important habitats for a wide variety of insects, animals, birds and amphibians.
They also provide multiple benefits to public health, with studies linking green space to reduced levels of stress.
Planting trees. The Woodland Trust are aiming to plant 64 million trees over the next 10 years – and need your help. Whether you want to plant a single tree in your garden, or a whole wood, they have tools and resources to help.
Creating your own green space. Add pot plants to your window sill or balcony, and if you have your own outdoor space, don't replace the grass with paving or artificial turf.
Help to protect and conserve green spaces like local parks, ponds or community gardens. Organisations like Fields In Trust and the National Federation of Parks and Green Spaces have advice and resources on how you can get involved in areas local to you.
it is also important that If you don't have direct access to open spaces, this community volunteering charity brings people together to connect to nature, and create healthier and happier communities.
In what ways do you strive to fight climate change in your life is by reducing energy use because small changes to your behaviour at home will help you use less energy, cutting your carbon footprint and your energy bills:
Put on an extra layer and turn down the heating a degree or two.
Turn off lights and appliances when you don’t need them.
Replace light bulbs with LEDs or other low-energy lights.
Make simple changes to how you use hot water, like buying a water-efficient shower head.
Also it's also important to make sure your home is energy efficient. Check the building has proper insulation, and consider draught-proofing windows and doors. If you are in rented accommodation, lobby your landlord to make sure the property is energy efficient.
Switching energy supply to a green tariff is a great way to invest in renewable energy sources – and could save you money on bills too.
Avoiding meat and dairy products is one of the biggest ways to reduce your environmental impact on the planet. Studies suggest that a high-fibre, plant-based diet is also better for your health - so it can be a win-win.
Eat fewer or smaller portions of meat, especially red meat, which has the largest environmental impact, and reduce dairy products or switch them for non-dairy alternatives .
Try to choose fresh, seasonal produce that is grown locally to help reduce the carbon emissions from transportation, preservation and prolonged refrigeration.

What Is Generational Wealth?
By definition, generational wealth, also referred to as family wealth or legacy wealth, represents wealth passed down from one generation to the next.
If you can leave behind a notable amount of money or assets, that constitutes generational wealth. These assets can include real estate, stock market investments, a business, or anything else which contains monetary value.
Stated simply, people who inherit generational wealth have a significant financial advantage over those who do not. These people likely have the ability to avoid student loans and other types of costly debt.
Instead, their inheritance could go towards income-generating investments, assets which appreciate in value, or even towards purchasing their first home.
Generational wealth refers to financial assets passed by one generation of a family to another. Those assets can include cash, stocks, bonds, and other investments, as well as real estate and family businesses.
Generational wealth is important because it allows for the transfer of assets and money between family members. This is important because it helps to keep the stability of a family and can help to ensure that the next generation has an opportunity to succeed.
Stated simply, people who inherit generational wealth have a significant financial advantage over those who do not. These people likely have the ability to avoid student loans and other types of costly debt.
Generational wealth affects social mobility, financial security, and access to resources. First-generation students usually have less generational wealth than their peers. Students can build generational wealth with the help of strong financial literacy skills.
The concept of building generational wealth is easy. You simply have to acquire assets or save cash that you don't intend to spend in retirement. Then you pass those assets along to your younger generations when you pass away.
Generational wealth is important because you have more freedom to think and live the life you want when you don’t have to worry about paying your bills or whether you can afford to quit a job that doesn’t fulfill you.
But why should you care about passing down wealth to the next generation? Many people have experienced feeling forced to do things or work a job because they need the money.
Of course, building generational wealth does not mean you stop your kids from ever experiencing hardships in life. But many parents want to give children more options in life.
How do I plan on achieving this well I plan to savings that will move down to child and great grandchildren in terms of liquid assets and investments.

Avicii - The Nights
Once upon a younger year
When all our shadows disappeared
The animals inside came out to play
Went face to face with all our fears
Learned our lessons through the tears
Made memories we knew would never fade
One day, my father, he told me, "Son, don't let it slip away"
He took me in his arms, I heard him say
"When you get older your wild heart will live for younger days
Think of me if ever you're afraid"
He said, "One day, you'll leave this world behind
So live a life you will remember"
My father told me when I was just a child
"These are the nights that never die"
My father told me
"When thunderclouds start pouring down
Light a fire they can't put out
Carve your name into those shining stars"
He said, "Go venture far beyond the shores
Don't forsake this life of yours
I'll guide you home no matter where you are"
One day, my father, he told me, "Son, don't let it slip away"
When I was just a kid, I heard him say
"When you get older your wild heart will live for younger days
Think of me if ever you're afraid"
He said, "One day, you'll leave this world behind
So live a life you will remember"
My father told me when I was just a child
"These are the nights that never die"
My father told me
"These are the nights that never die"
My father told me

Chris Jackson Computer Science Education Scholarship
How I got interested in Computer Science degree? it all started when I was in high school I always felt that the computer field was lame and a waste of time that was my imagination and thinking at the time.but it all changed at when I got into university I saw a brand new world totally different from my knowledge of the computer world, it was when I heard about the huge pay out that people in the computer field get I really appreciated the computer field even more.
This was a different dispensation from what I knew or what I was taught in high school. I when I was about to enter university i issues with the program i wanted to do at that time which was electronic engineering but thr disclaimer the school had was that i had to be a member of the church so i had to do computer science and this was what prompted me to pursue a degree in computer science and that was the best decision I ever made in my life.
Right now I have gotten my Bachelor's Degree in computer science I am pursuing a master’s degree in cybersecurity and hopefully when I graduate I hope to get a big job in Microsoft or Apple to help my parents and sister who are in Nigeria because they are counting on me to make it in life.
Honestly I know I'm not the best candidate to give this scholarship to but i can only hope that I can considered even if it's only $1,000 I can get I'll be very grateful and it will go a long way in helping me achieving my goals and dreams of graduating and having my own company to help the black community and most importantly help my family who are in Nigeria come out of poverty

A few weeks ago I experienced an episode of vertigo so bad it landed me in the emergency room.
Vertigo is not a condition, but a symptom. In the emergency room they ran tests to rule out all manner of scary possibilities.
Doctors wanted to make sure I was not experiencing a stroke, or initial symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis, or a brain tumor.
After a CT scan, blood tests, neurological tests and other doctor appointments (a hearing test, a chat with an ENT) I was officially diagnosed with Benign Positional Vertigo.
Let me tell you.
Although Boyfriend and I both faced the entire experience with an attitude that can only be described as chill, it was a sobering few weeks.
Because, why not me?
All these doctor visits prompted my primary doctor to review my medical records to see if there was anything else that needed to be checked up on.
This is why I got a routine mammogram.
Three days ago my doctor emailed me with the word "urgent" on the subject line.
She explained the radiologist had found "a mass" on my breast.
I very deliberately decided not to worry. I told myself I would take it a step at a time and not panic until I had good reason to.
It could be bad, but it could be nothing. I'd expect the best possible outcome.
Today I went in to get the follow up mammogram. Then I sat in the waiting room with four other women.
One of them has cancer and found out about it because she's breastfeeding. Another had a lumpectomy 15 years ago and just found out her cancer is back. Two others were getting imaging done in preparation for surgery.
We talked. We compared notes. We gave each other tips. We asked each other questions. We hugged.
how hard things impacted your relationships?
You aren’t “doomed” or meant to live a chaotic or unhappy life…but the only person who can make this relationships happen, is you. So why not give yourself that chance?
Have the courage to do the hard things, and it pays off…
People can and will love you for who you are, there are people out there who want to have that amazing relationship with you….
By bringing the healthiest version of yourself to the table - you’ll make better choices of who you get involved with, have healthier patterns of how you get your needs met, and have a far better chance of getting the love everyone wants & deserves.
Scholarship for Golfers
As a kid, I enjoyed playing mini-golf while on vacation with my family. I mean, I really enjoyed it. All I wanted to do was play the various mini-golf tourist traps in Myrtle Beach. So my dad had the thought that I liked this whole “golf” thing. So he - a fine player - took me along to a local tournament he was playing in.
Dad was a fine player. He had about a 3′ putt to win and he let me knock it in. Totally against the rules but who was gonna argue with a dad letting his son sink a putt?
That was (more than) 2 years ago i quite vividly remember him asking if I had fun - of course I said “YES!” - and the very next day, him buying me a set of MacGregor Jack Nicklaus Junior clubs.
My first foray with golf was a driving range at a local course. I was in high school and I played baseball, so… you can pretty much guess how that went. At one point, I released the club on the “follow through” and it helicoptered behind me down the line of golfers hitting. Embarrassing.
Next trip was several years later, I was either 21 or about to turn 21. Again with baseball people, but now I was coaching. Played 9 holes. Butchered it until the last hole when I hit one glorious shot. That was the hook.
After that, I began playing a bit on occasion, teaching myself and listening to my golfing friends tell me how to do thing. When I got super frustrated, I would take the occasional lesson with the course pro.
After goofing with it for maybe a year or so, I bought my own set of clubs and even went to the range a few times. I could hit it crazy far, but I had a LONG swing and I had no idea where it was going when I hit it. But I began to play 2–3 times a week and I got my swing to the point where I knew what it was going to do for the most part.
I was probably 95% self taught. I took a series of lessons for a while, and then I’ve taken the one off lesson from different people over the years too. I read bunches of books and magazine articles too. Did the online things as well.
If I had one book to recommend you read about anything, it would be Harvey Penick’s Little Red Book. It’s stories and quips, but there is some good instruction in there too.
Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship
Dealing with the death of my father changed me forever, and the second I accepted that was the second I found the strength to live the life I had always dreamed of. Don't ever be ashamed of your past, don't ever forget that it's what makes you beautiful, and don't ever give up.
My brother is younger than me by only three years, and the way he processed the death was completely different than mine. Yet he was the only one who knew exactly what I had been through, from the time that my father got diagnosed up until his death. I often tried to compare my situation with those of others (my friend who lost his mother earlier this year) -- sometimes just to measure my level of grief to gauge if I was overreacting, or set a potential expiration date of when the pain I was feeling would go away. Was it okay that I was crying myself to sleep every single night a year and a half later?
I've realized that everyone processes death in a different way. Knowing this means that you don't have to second guess your thoughts, feelings and actions. This is your personal journey, and you're allowed to feel, think, say or do whatever it is that you need to heal.
With this massive loss I have had to double the grind and double my hustle now even more because I'm the first born and i have to make sure I make it in life because people are looking up to me now to be the man of the family and as well as the flag bearer of the family, and that is why I can not afford to fail or give up and thus why I want to further my education by doing my masters in cybersecurity and hopefully get a good job that takes me and my family out of poverty forever.
Dr. Meme Heineman Scholarship
Although I always loved art, growing up poor in a rural area made it difficult to have access to the fine arts museums (far away) or materials (too expensive). So I made do in other ways. I borrowed art books from the library and did virtual tours of the Met and the MOMA from my home computer. And since I couldn’t afford a fancy SLDR camera, I learned all the iPhone photography tricks I could, and used open-source software to do post-production on my photos to help me pay for my school fees when i was doing my undergraduateprogram.
I have been committed to programs (cybersecurity coding) that would further develop my view of the world as well as try to improve the safety of the world by making it a better place. I have been involved in Choir and Music Club. I have also been a member of the Red Crescent club for 3 years, which has expanded my exposures to other cultures by learning another languages and studying multiple customs.
I have been the captain of both the varsity golf and softball teams for two years, developing my leadership skills. My involvement in both my school and community prove that I am a student committed to developing a promising future as i aspire to further my education by doing my masters program in cybersecurity
The scholarship award will only push me further towards my cybersecurity degree aspiration and my dreams of one day having a successful career in cybersecurity. Five years from now I see myself employed at a large local firm, crunching numbers, evaluating, and solving certain financial matters. I just feel blessed that I am given the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship to help fulfill my dream and I will prove that I do have what it takes to not only be a successful student, but an outstanding individual.
How this scholarship will help me improve the life of individuals with developmental disabilities is that hopefully I am awarded this scholarship and become a certified professional in cybersecurity I can create a application can help improve communication between us and developmental disability people the application will be simple for all to use in such a way that when ever they are in need of anything or in any sort of pain they can easily communicate with the application and help will be given to them as quickly as possible.
Dr. Samuel Attoh Legacy Scholarship
The Cambridge Dictionary defines legacy as “something that is a part of your history or that remains from an earlier time.” The meaning behind the word, legacy piqued our interest during our Fall Women Empowering Women event, with many inspiring conversations coming from the question “what is my legacy and why?”
To me, legacy means building a bridge from where I started to a great place that someone else may someday want to go.
Legacy is what we leave behind; it’s the skills and life lessons we pass on to the next generation. my legacy is the knowledge i wish to impart my children and our children’s children.
Leaving a legacy means that I have contributed my whole self to my life. It means that my friends, family, and co-workers have experienced my best self. It means my passions, creativity, and actions have borne fruit that will live on past my physical life.
I was the first person in my family to go to college and finish. I thought that was my most important success until I realized that it takes more than a college education to live well. Once I decided that I truly wanted to live well, I started to take responsibility for my life. It was tough because I didn’t always know how to fight for my wants and needs. Looking back on it, my biggest frustration is not taking charge sooner.
I measure success in the sense of living up to my potential. Sometimes success means doing the little things that go unnoticed, and yet they serve to build a foundation for the future. I can get frustrated when it seems like too many little things are necessary to witness something big becoming a reality.
You don’t have to make the same choices in life that your father did. You can use your life story as a springboard to another path. You can choose how to write the next chapters in your story. Make the choice for the cycle of absent fathers to end with you.
My father was absolutely absent and married another wife so my path is going to completely different I would not let my children go through what I went through my mother had taught me about God and i
have decided to lean in to what God had planned for me, which was a family and children of me own. The lifestyle of my father couldn’t have been more different.

Explore Alternative Plans
If you have a federal student loan, you may be able to call your loan servicer and work out an alternative repayment plan.
Graduated repayment: This increases your monthly payments every two years over the 10-year life of the loan. This plan allows for low payments early on by accommodating entry-level salaries. It also assumes you will get raises or move on to better-paying jobs as the decade progresses.
Extended repayment: This allows you to stretch out your loan over a longer period of time, such as 25 years rather than 10 years, which will result in a lower monthly payment.
Income contingent repayment: This calculates payments based on your adjusted gross income (AGI) at no more than 20% of your income for up to 25 years. At the end of 25 years, any balance on your debt will be forgiven.
Pay as you earn: This caps monthly payments at 10% of your monthly income for up to 20 years if you can prove financial hardship. The criteria can be tough, but once you’ve qualified, you may continue to make payments under the plan even if you no longer have the hardship.
Hit Higher Loans First
As with any debt-payoff strategy, it is always best to pay off the loans with the highest interest rates first. One common scheme is to budget a certain amount above the monthly required payments, then allocate the overage to the debt with the biggest interest bite.
Once that is paid off, apply the total monthly amount on that loan (the regular payment, plus the overage, plus the regular amount) towards repaying the debt with the second-highest interest rate. And so on. This is a version of the technique known as a debt avalanche.
Review the Grace Periods
As you pull together the specifics, you will notice that each loan has a grace period. This is the amount of time you have after graduation before you have to start paying your loans back. These can also differ. For example, Stafford loans have a six-month grace period, while Perkins loans give you nine months before you have to start making payments.
Pay Automatically
Some student loan lenders offer a discount on the interest rate if you agree to set up your payments to be automatically withdrawn from your checking account each month. Participants in the Federal Direct Loan Program get this sort of break (only 0.25%, but hey, it adds up), for example, and private lenders may offer discounts as well.
Know the Terms
As you sum up the size of your debt, also itemize the terms of every loan. Each one could have different interest rates and different repayment rules. You'll need this info to develop a payback plan that avoids extra interest, fees, and penalties.
Calculate Your Total Debt
As with any type of debt situation, the first thing you need to understand is the overall amount you owe. Students usually graduate with numerous loans, both federally sponsored and private, having arranged for new financing each year they were in school. So buckle down and do the math. Only by knowing your total debt can you develop a plan to pay it down, consolidate it, or possibly explore forgiveness.
Sean Carroll's Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship
In the philosophy of idealism as opposed to physicalism, our known universe exists in our minds and in ‘mind at large’
In the philosophy of physicalism (aka materialism) only the physical world exists and mind emerges within like wetness emerges from water.
So in one sense all of reality exists in mind and in another all is physical. Another aspect to consider is that the very basis or substrate of the physical world is informational or probabilistic logic (it from bit from qubit) and therefore a mathematical computation. Computation suggests a mind or computer to crunch the numbers. Therefore physicalism leads to idealism.
Idealism leads to physicalism when you consider that the conscious mind observes, interprets, and updates . So superposition one on the other and you have it.
Also I would venture to imagine (when I close my eyes late at night) that the universe (meaning all that exists or in other words ‘multiverse’) is an infinite and eternal undulating array of pocket universes that interact through all sorts of Mandelbrot set type dimensions. “Anything that can happen will happen” - variant of Murphy’s law.
Between zero entropy (perfect order) and infinite entropy (total chaos) there is all manner of shit. Interesting that the word origin of chaos is the opposite of cosmos
Surely one of the biggest ideas in the universe has to be the universe itself, no? Or, as I claim, the very fact that the universe is comprehensible — as an abstract philosophical point, but also as the empirical observation that the universe we see is a pretty simple place, at least on the largest scales. We focus here mostly on the thermal history — how the constituents of the universe evolve as space expands and the temperature goes down.
the Universe can provide us with the meaning of life what do I mean There is no mystery more fundamental than that of the meaning of life. We find ourselves on a stage without a script, so we naturally seek a purpose and wonder: What’s it all about?
We could simply live our life without assigning a deeper meaning to it, just as we casually use our liver without dissecting it. But sometimes our daily routines resemble those of Sisyphus, who according to Greek mythology was punished to roll a heavy boulder up a hill only for it to roll down when it reached the top, repeating the cycle again and again. In this context, it is reasonable to ask whether there is a point to our Sisyphean efforts.
The practical attitude is to accept life as a wonderful gift and make the best lemonade out of the lemons it brings. This echoes the organic relationship between a plant and the nutrients in the soil that feeds it. But it does not fulfil the need for a deeper meaning.

our digital age, cybersecurity plays an essential role in ensuring online safety, as well as the safety of the essential systems that support our daily lives, including electricity, transportation, and financial institutions.
The ability to solve puzzles adds together the growth of technology and its variety, and you start to glimpse the different types of puzzles that cybersecurity professionals can deal with.
The job has real impact that last use case—defending a pacemaker in an elderly patient—is a real one. Recently there was a massive recall of pacemakers due to a security issue. The Equifax hack impacted 145 million Americans.
Cybersecurity matters. It has impacts that extend beyond the digital world and into the physical one.
That's a terrifying and exciting prospect and one that highlights its importance.
If you want to work on IT issues that have real-world impact, cybersecurity might be the discipline for you.
In cybersecurity we rely on some tried-and-true principles, but the tactics can change day-to-day. And there's always a new puzzle that needs to be solved.
Practically unlimited growth with an ever-expanding scope, cybersecurity presents the ultimate growth potential—both in your career path and for learning opportunities.
We teach security as its own discipline, but it links to all of the other IT skill sets. A good cybersecurity professional works to understand as much as possible about how technologies and organizations work.
Workplace diversity refers to the range of experiences and characteristics that make up an organisation. Formerly, these characteristics primarily referred to race and ethnicity, whereas now workplace diversity encompasses gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexuality, education, background, and many more. Importantly, diversity is not about viewing everyone as the same, but recognising and understanding people’s differences, and ensuring these are well represented within an organization.
Diversity allows companies to adopt a different lens to solve challenges, operate the organization and keep it strong,” says Awwad. “If you have multiple people thinking the same way, you don't really grow or innovate.
Diversity exists when you go above and beyond being aware of differences or accepting differences to the point of actively including people who are different from you. Diversity is learning from our differences to make the whole community a better place.
Diversity enhances creativity. It encourages the search for novel information and perspectives, leading to better decision making and problem solving. Diversity can improve the bottom line of companies and lead to unfettered discoveries and breakthrough innovations.

Strong leadership and communication skills
A leader should be an active listener to become an effective communicator. They should know when to stop talking and when to listen to their team members. By doing this, they gain the employees’ trust, who then share their opinions, ideas, grievances, etc., with the leader. Active listening also helps the leaders to understand their team better, therefore, listening skills are equally important to communication skills for
effective leadership
Resilient
Resilient leaders have the ability to sustain their energy level under pressure, to cope with disruptive changes and adapt. They bounce back from setbacks. They also overcome major difficulties without engaging in dysfunctional behavior or harming others.
Leaders need to have a strong understanding of themselves to successfully guide others through times of change and uncertainty.
Through self-reflection and feedback from trusted peers, leaders can identify their strengths and weaknesses, as well as their motivational drivers, and approach challenges with a keen sense of emotional intelligence.
Unselfish
There is a price to leadership. A leader cannot do whatever they want, for others are following, and their actions and emotions lead just as strongly as their decisions.
Focused/determined
Without determination, it is not possible to realize your goals. A determined leader inspires confidence in others who will rely on the leader's will in times of struggle. Determination is a prerequisite for success as the strength of will involved gives the leader energy to move on towards the ultimate goal.
Strong work ethic
Great work ethics allow the team leader to clearly define the team goals and objectives putting them in precise perspective and focus. They become more understandable hence eliminating confusion among the team members. Efforts are directed towards the goals and hence the performance of the employees improves.
I chose to study computer forensics and cyber security because I’ve always found the subject of computers interesting – they are constantly changing and there’s so many different areas of cyber security. I also really enjoy the fact that by doing my course I can not only help find evidence of a crime but I can help to prevent it.
For me personally, it means empowering people. Helping them to grow under my leadership, and realize their full potential in the workplace. The best leaders help their people discover qualities and strengths they were not even aware of before. They help them overcome prejudice and any self-imposed limitations. Leaders simply help their team members become the best versions of themselves. That’s what leadership means to me.
Act Locally Scholarship
This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, make a diffference in this world and change my community for the better. I still don’t know how to go about doing it, but am starting small, by first trying to change myself.
The change that I want to see in America is a return to the rule of law, the improvement of the quality of representation in government away from politics and towards the business of doing for America, and a recommitment to States Rights.
The nation has strayed too far into grass roots justice with the effect that vigilantism and terrorism are the new law and order. WE have to bring our leaders back to the Rule of Law and Equal Protection Under the Law for All Americans. Once back on track we can proceed to polish off the rough edges.
Politics has replaced self government in the American democracy and the republican representative democracy has been perverted to be a never ending cycle of partisanship. All politics must be prevented in government and relegated to the private sector for campaigning and debate. Politics in government benefits the parties and their hacks.
The Federal government has overgrown its patch and is now a tyrannical usurper of Rights and a dictatorial pontiff of secular morality backed up by authority of office and beholden to party politics.
Something simple you could do to make a difference is to recycle as much as possible. What is being recycled is not enough.
Garner attention and concern from the community and see that it is followed through with all recyclable items.
You could also volunteer. Volunteer to help at soup kitchens, seek to clothe the homeless who always need new socks, underwear, and hygiene products.
Volunteer at a senior citizens home or your local hospital. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Start or volunteer to help with an “Operation Brightside,” a task force to improve the community by improving or removing rubbish from neglected homes in the area.
Volunteer to tutor at the local school or library. Become a Big Brother or Big Sister to mentor future citizens of the community. Buy a cow/a goat/etc. for an impoverished family abroad. This would improve their lives greatly.
Foster a family abroad. Offer to help with clean water facilities abroad. So many are not able to have access to clean water.
Give generously to your favorite charities to assist in the world's horrendous natural disasters. People are dying and many are underfed in our world today. Consider helping with any talents you may have.
Declare what your life is for. Make it something extraordinary. It doesn’t matter if it’s becoming a billionaire or ending world hunger. It doesn’t have to the “right” thing, it’s not forever. Now if you make a declaration for your purpose or your goal(s), it does not mean you cannot change it later or expand it or just drop it and declare something else. Just declare what your life is for right now.
Right now, my life is for “being in action towards a world that works for everyone.”
The easiest and the most effortless thing you can do to make a difference is to smile. Smile and if possible, wish strangers every morning, when you get on the subway, when you walk to work, when you pick up groceries, just smile. When you smile at someone in the morning, you are sending positive energy and setting their day off to a good start. When they smile back at you, it will most definitely make you feel better. This makes ripple effects in the community you live in. Soon you are changing the world.
Same way, everyone can be more attentive. People can take their eyes off their phone scre
Because you asked this question I have just read it and i sit here now thinking and typing a response, you have affected me, you changed my life, you change peoples live every day, everytime you talk or interact with anyone you have an effect, look at the real world. If you look at what actually exists it is clear what you can do. Dont try to do to much, dont be an atention hog. Just do what you can and while your talking to people maybe try to keep the perspective of “what can i do right now to make a difference or improve the community”
What is that, you want to change in the world or in a community?
What would you say to young people around the world who want to make a difference in their own community?
Do you think you can make a difference in this world? Why or why not? Which area do you see yourself making an impact?
Change yourself first.
Use the “greatest secret human power.”
Win more often so you can talk about benefits.
Make the world a better place, one happier person at a time.

Let me tell you how cycling changed me.
After my high school i switched to scooter from cycle and i resumed my cycling after a big gap of around 7 years. I used to work out at home occasionally but then it became once in a while affair and in that gap I started gaining weight and would get sick frequently, mostly in the form of throat infection and fever.
After resuming cycling I felt energized. My stamina and my immunity improved drastically. My weight dropped from 70+ to 65kg, waist to 34" and throat infections from 10 to 0.
There was a time when I used to get fever after drenching in rain and now I can ride hours soaking wet in the rain and get up with no fever the next morning.
When ever I was in a bad mood I used to take my bike for a spin and came back all charged up.
The only problem I faced was with the size of the trousers in my wardrobe and then there was the occasional scolding from my mother for the sun tan.
Go ahead and take your bike and enjoy the ride.
Even at 24 years old, I’m still growing and improving as a cyclist. I feel better, more relaxed, less stressed, and more accomplished. I enter races again I think the best is still to come. Given that, I’d say cycling also has material mental health benefits. Those you might enjoy during your first ride.
Driving courteously and with tolerance. That cyclist is your neighbor and you are sharing the same road. Obey the posted speed limit, and don't drive too fast for conditions. Come to a complete stop at each stop sign and red light.
Following law is also very crucial it’s the safest way to ride. Bicyclists have the same rights and duties as other drivers and need to follow the same traffic laws.
Be predictable when you are riding in a straight line, signal turns and check behind you before turning or changing lanes.
Come to a complete stop at every stop sign and red light.
Ride with caution around parked cars and position yourself in the field of vision of a motorist pulling out of a parking space.
Be conspicuous when riding and try to be very careful where drivers can see you, use lights at night and wear bright clothing.
Be self aware anticipate the next move of drivers, pedestrians and other cyclists. Watch for debris, potholes and grates.
If you are a beginner or are returning to bicycling, seek out clubs or bicycling advocacy organizations in your community for tips on safe riding, instruction, and group rides to improve knowledge and confidence.
Riding Ready because tires need air, brakes must work, chains should run smoothly, and quick release wheel levers must be closed.
Carry identification and cell phone, emergency cash, as well as repair and emergency supplies.
Wearing a helmet when riding is very important as well.

The year i turned 19 i began having serious problems. He became so exhausted from severe depression, there were many days when he couldn’t even get out of bed. There were times when i felt certain someone was out to harm me. i became very confused and frightened by this experiences, and had thoughts of suicide.
my concerned parents took me to the local mental health center. There i and my family began meeting with a treatment team to become educated about the problems he was having. They all worked together to develop an effective treatment plan that included psychotherapy and medication. By participating actively in treatment, the family members learned helpful ways of supporting .
With good mental health treatment and the support of friends and family, i finally began to feel hopeful about his future. i eventually returned to school. There was a long time when i couldn’t imagine getting any better. But i found out that even someone with severe problems like minecan get help.
Also early in high school, i began to diet occasionally and watch my weight. But by my senior year, i focused constantly on my weight and cut way back on the amount i ate. i exercised as much as possible. Despite my scary appearance to others, i believed that i still needed to lose more weight.
When my family and friends expressed concern to me about my weight loss, i competely withdrew from them. i tried to keep up the refusal to eat hidden from others. During meals with my family, i would move food around plate instead of eating it.
i began to develop medical problems as a result of my eating behavior. During an office visit, my family physician noticed that my weight had dropped and asked questions about my eating habits. The doctor helped me realize that my eating problems, if left untreated, eventually could threaten my life.
my physician helped convince me to get the mental health treatment i needed. Through psychotherapy, i learned how my feelings influenced my eating. With help, i was able to improve my self-image as well as my eating habits. By getting treatment, i was able to stabilize my weight and regain my mental and physical health.
I remember when my class mate broke his leg while playing football ( soccer) he was finding little or no pleasure in life feeling worthless or extremely guilty crying a lot for no particular reason, withdrawing from other people experiencing severe anxiety, panic, or fear having big mood swings experiencing a change in eating or sleeping pattern shaving very low energy losing interest in hobbies and pleasurable activities having too much energy, having trouble concentrating or following through on plans feeling easily irritated or angry experiencing racing thoughts or agitation hearing voices or seeing images that other people do not experience believing that others are plotting against you wanting to harm your self or some one.it affected his his going to school and as a result had to start going to school at home

Please write about a time when i went through tremendous hardship and still managed to achieve something great in my life? When I was in college, I decided somewhat last minute to do a semester of studies abroad. The program included classes and an internship, and when I arrived in the foreign country, I realized my skill with the language was not advanced enough for the classes and internship. I thought about returning home, but I didn't want to let lack of ability hold me back.
I’ve suffered from severe allergies from young age. For a time I was extremely upset about it, because I knew I had no guilt–I just was born with these problems, and they made my life difficult at school, and also at home. But eventually I decided to do something about the situation.
Instead of relying on doctors, who only kept prescribing medication with adverse side effects, I decided to study the subject and try to overcome my allergies with lifestyle changes. I continually switched to plan based diet, and completely eliminated fizzy drinks, and caffeinated beverages. And I started to run three times a week.
In a few months time, I almost stopped experiencing the allergy symptoms, and quit taking the medication, slowly getting rid of side effects it had on my everyday life. Today I can interview with you without having to blow out my nose five times each minute. I am proud that I overcame the adversity, and I have definitely learned a lot from this experience.
I recall such an example from my last job in retail. Due to the pandemic–something I had no impact on, the revenues of the store dropped by 50% from month to month, and the owner considered closing down the entire operation. But I did not give up, because I saw value in the products we were selling, and wanted to help the owner. So I suggested them to open an online store, and also offer a delivery service, and said I’d help with both, since I had experience.
You should remember that I was just an employee–so it wasn’t my store, or my profit. But I tried to help regardless. Eventually we did it, started a free delivery in the city, but it didn’t help. The pandemic got even worse, and eventually the store went out of business. That’s one of the reasons why I am interviewing for a job with you today.
Bryent Smothermon PTSD Awareness Scholarship
What have i learned about myself or the world around me through your experiences with service-related PTSD?PTSD can affect a person’s ability to work, perform day-to-day activities or relate to their family and friends. A person with PTSD can often seem uninterested or distant as they try not to think or feel in order to block out painful memories. They may stop them from participating in family life or ignore offers of help. This can lead to loved ones feeling shut out.
It is important to remember that these behaviours are part of the problem. People with PTSD need the support of family and friends but may not understand what is happening to them or think that they need help.
When PTSD goes on for some time, it is not unusual for people to experience other mental health problems at the same time. In fact, up to 80 per cent of people who have long-standing PTSD develop additional problems - most commonly depression, anxiety, and alcohol or other substance misuse. These may have developed directly in response to the traumatic event or as a result of the effects of having PTSD.
How do i hope to use my experience to help other veterans who are currently suffering from PTSD? Many people experience some of the symptoms of PTSD in the first two weeks after a traumatic event, but most recover with the help of family and friends. For this reason, for a diagnosis of PTSD is not made until a month after the event. Treatment does not usually start for at least two or more weeks after a traumatic experience. However if the event is very distressing and emotions and reactions are intense, it is advisable to seek help as early as possible to understand what is happening and help recovery to start.
it is important during the first few days and weeks after a traumatic event to get whatever help is needed. This may include accessing information, people and resources that can help you to recover. Support from family and friends may be all that is needed. Otherwise, a doctor is the best place to start to get further help.
If you, or someone close to you is suffering with PTSD or have symptoms you feel may be related to PTSD, that are overwhelming and debilitating, it is vital that you seek professional help and support. People attempting to cope with unresolved emotional and psychological trauma will often resort to self-medicating with drugs, alcohol or other substances or behaviors in an attempt to cope with their symptoms. They may be prone to self-harm, eg. eating disorders, sex and love addictions, compulsive spending or gambling, and/or they may be experiencing relationship problems and outbursts of anger, overwhelming fear or chronic anxiety. Without treatment it can be very difficult to recover from the effects of unresolved trauma and its lasting impact in the body.
Living Well Scholarship
A healthy lifestyle begins with a healthy home. Living in a clean environment is so important to your physical health as well as your overall sense of well-being. Did you know that a single bacteria can grow into over eight million in a single day? In addition to keeping germs from multiplying, regular cleaning discourages insects from sharing your living quarters.
You can breathe easier in a freshly cleaned home, especially if you or a family member has allergies. Thorough cleaning can reduce the number of dust mites – one of the leading causes of allergies. Living in an uncluttered environment also helps to reduce distractions and improve concentration – two important factors for kids with homework assignments or even adults working in a home office. Overall, a clean and healthy environment lowers stress and contributes to a positive outlook on life. Making sure that you clean your home or getting a professional to do it for you is important for a healthy home.
Cleaning the house hits two targets at once. You clean your house, but it’s also a good workout! My smartwatch often recognizes housework as exercise. It doesn’t take the place of traditional exercise, but it definitely helps with your health It can really get that step count up
From a hygienic and health standpoint, regularly cleaning the home reduces the presence of mold.
Mold is a bad thing to have in your home. It can trigger allergic reactions, asthma attacks, and even produce toxic substances which cause more extreme symptoms .Cleaning regularly, sanitizing your home, and limiting dampness will reduce mold in the home. Your home will be a healthier place for friends, family, and other houseguests.
cleaning your home can actually save you money. When you clean your house regularly, you’ll notice things that need to be maintained or repaired. Therefore, you can stay on top of these chores around the house.they won’t be neglected where they can get worse to the point where you need to spend a lot of money to repair or replace an item. if you have beautiful expensive hardwood floors, regular cleaning and maintenance can keep them looking new and fresh. But if you neglect them, they’ll eventually become damaged. That’s an expensive thing to fix.
Cleaning provides comfort. Living in a well-organized house, where every item has its designated place and you can find anything you may need instantly, is comfortable and nice. Ultimately, you know that’s what you’ll get when you clean and declutter and it makes you feel better.
Mind, Body, & Soul Scholarship
One of the main reasons to be excited for college in my opinion is the opportunity of a fresh start. In high school, you can get kind of stuck in a rut. Your group of friends, your reputation, your after school activities... they’re all pretty stagnant. If something is wrong in your hometown, you’ll especially want to get a fresh start. And college is where you’ll find just that.
You’ll find a second family in college. Of course, you can’t replace your blood family, and living away from them for the first time won’t be easy. However, you’ll find a way to cope by making friends as close as brothers and sisters. Whether you join a sorority, club, or simply become extremely close with your roommate, you’re bound to discover your second family in college.
College doesn’t mean total freedom- I mean you’re still only 18, and college campuses don’t have their own sovereign law.
However, you’ll have a lot more freedom in college than in high school. From choosing your own schedule to staying out all night curfew-free, college guarantees more freedom!
High school is an incredible opportunity to explore a variety of majors, do some self-searching, and generally learn a lot of information. But it’s just a sneak peak of the real world, which begins in college. You’ll do all the same things in college, but at the same time you’ll be figuring out bills and debt, working, and planning your future. It’s scary, yes, but more than anything exciting! You’ve been preparing for your life for 18 years; now it’s time to get the show on the road.
Every graduate can look back and remember how nervous they were before attending college. But once you consider all of the reasons to be excited for college, it will become difficult to look at college with anything other than a positive attitude. Why are you excited for college.
How do i maintain a healthy mind, body, and soul amidst the challenges i face in school?Getting enough sleep because we need seven-nine hours of sleep each night. Any less and you may not be able to think properly at work or you may experience mood swings, exercising can make you happy It’s important to make the exercise fun – otherwise you won’t want to do it. Looking for community exercise classes and encourage a group of your mates to go with you. Or get a group together and play sport. You could even start a tournament and have some healthy competition. As long as you’re moving – that’s what matters.make sure you're not thirsty, what you eat makes a difference, quit smoking for good,go outside.
Your Health Journey Scholarship
I stopped eating fast food and drinking soda. Boom, 20lbs in 6 months gone, and I didn't even exercise any more than I had been before that change. Hands down the best thing I had done for my body, and that was almost 6-7 years ago.
I can’t say it was one change, because I started seeing a personal trainer and stopped eating prepared foods full of sugar and carbs. Started eating a piece of pan fried chicken and some broccoli for dinner and two eggs for breakfast. Low carb with protein. I’m much more healthy and I look much better. What triggered the change was a bad heart attack. It’s important to treat yourself to one meal a week that is anything you want. Maybe pizza or a steak? It’s so important to prepare your own food. Prepared foods are terrible for you. For example, if there are 28 grams of sugar in a serving that’s 28/4 or 7 teaspoons of sugar! Yogurt that has 12 grams of sugar has 12/4 or 3 teaspoons of sugar!
Getting 7–9 hours of sleep every. single. night helps alot because of the drawbacks to skimping on sleep are no joke. Consider this: if you’re skipping just an hour and getting six each night, your risk of obesity goes up 23 percent. You need seven to nine every night, even if that means skipping a 6:00-a.m. workout every once in awhile. If you have trouble getting to sleep, use calming essential oils, eat sleep-promoting foods, or try learning from your sleep patterns by wearing a tracking watch like the Withings Steel HR. You can also work on creating a better environment for sleep via products like Withings’ Aura, which wakes you up with energizing light and customized music.
vigorous exercise is essential as well, but heavy lifting for an hour can’t undo the negative effects of sitting for the entire rest of the day. In fact, a recent study found some of exercise’s benefits were negated by prolonged periods of sitting. Invest in a tool that tracks your steps, like the Withings Go to encourage you to move enough throughout the day. Try taking the stairs or taking short walks around your office at the top of every hour.
Drinking water like it’s going out of style. It’s impossible to overstate how important staying hydrated is. Drinking enough water (ideally 64 ounces, or eight eight-ounce glasses per day) will lead to more energy, better skin, and maybe even weight loss.
Learner Higher Education Scholarship
College students learn how to think differently than at any other point in their lives. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are important life and work skills. Through experiences both inside and outside the classroom, students navigate challenges and work through problems independently and collaboratively, making them more employable after graduation.
When considering why higher education is important, these are just a few highlights to consider. The long-term ROI Is often worth the upfront costs of the college experience.
A wage gap still exists between those who have a college degree and those who don’t. A study by Georgetown University and The Center on Education found that those who earn a college degree and work full-time earn, on average, 84% more over their lifetime than those who don’t have a college degree. Health and life insurance are also more accessible to those who are employed post-graduation, which is another reason why higher education is important.
Some colleges and universities allow undergraduate students to engage in research opportunities independently or alongside a professor. This is a huge benefit to students who are looking to gain some experience before pursuing a master’s degree, where research is almost always a requirement of the program.
In other cases, some schools actually require their undergraduates to complete a capstone or final thesis as a component of graduation. No matter what the circumstance — even if not conducted for the purpose of graduate school admittance — research teaches valuable skills in project management and writing etiquette. This kind of experience is very attractive to employers who are looking for evidence of dedication and personal discipline.
If we think of earning a degree within the traditional undergraduate track, we can consider a college education to be an important phase of independence and problem-solving.
Undergraduate students are inundated with pivotal changes, many of which take place outside of the classroom. Students must learn how to manage their time, how to deal with new people and roommates, how to talk to their professors, and how to navigate their new, social settings. Most importantly, students must gain the independence to make these decisions on their own.
A college education is so much more than tackling new challenges in the classroom. It’s about learning how to manage new-found independence in a way that is practical and safe.
The world is changing. Technology is developing beyond our wildest dreams, and complex issues in business, environment, and politics continue to challenge our society. Higher education prepares students to meet these challenges with grit and determination.
A college education is more than classroom instruction. It is a holistic journey that explores facets of individuality, perseverance, and skill. A degree is about learning how to think, communicate, and deliver. More realistically, it can be considered as a transformation — from potential to realization.
Science Appreciation Scholarship
I am pursuing Masters program in cybersecurity which has to do with the art of protecting networks, devices and data from unauthorized access or criminal use and the practice of ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
Science is very important because it contributes to ensuring a longer and healthier life, monitors our health, provides medicine to cure our diseases, alleviates aches and pains, helps us to provide water for our basic needs – including our food, provides energy and makes life more fun, including sports, music, entertainment and the latest.
Science is very important because it increases our fundamental knowledge.
not all science has an immediate payoff. Some science discovers what we call fundamental knowledge. This is knowledge in how our universe works. Not even in how molecules interact, but in how molecules are made. Fundamental knowledge is important because it shows us how protons and neutrons are made. It shows us if our theories of gravity are right. It helps us understand how waves of light (or radiation) interact with our bodies.
Science is very important because it creates new technology.cann you imagine your life without the phone? Not the phone in your pocket, but just a regular landline, dial-up phone? Without science, we wouldn’t have those, let alone the mini computer that is sitting next to you that we now call a phone.
Without science cooking your food over fires, keeping warm with layers of blankets, hand sewing all of your clothes, or walking from place to place. You certainly wouldn’t be reheating dinner in your microwave.
Old technology was once new, once novel, once so exciting that one could hardly imagine living in a world with that technology. Now we live in a world where much of that technology we can’t imagine living without.
Science is important because it creates the new technologies. from self-driving cars to Martian rovers, nano-sized cancer zappers, origami folded prosthetic limbs, light controlled brains, even quantum computing – there is no shortage of places that science is going towards today.
If we want to reap the vast benefits that science can provide we have to actually do the science.
We need good brains in the labs and dedicated bodies running the experiments. We need people who are capable of problem solving, mathematics and collaboration.today, as you read this, there is a scientist in the lab cooking up a new technology that you won’t be able to imagine life without in just a few decades. What will it be like Can you even imagine how it would be like.
Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship
My experiences with mental health is so bad to the point that it has dealt me a bad hand that these days how and the way i cope with people and relate with them in small things( in terms of mental health well-being) is not good because i have abandonment issues from mum and dad, my father being an alcoholic, being physically abused, emotionally and psychologically hurt growing up and being basically cut off from real care or connection. I don’t trust the world and I don’t trust my family (seriously unpleasant people there), I don’t trust women but most of all I don’t trust myself.
I overthink, I’ve got a gold medal in that and seeing the worst. I know my past has a huge past to play in that, I was taught to be passive and get my head down, I was supposed to be made hard by being left on my own and never being encouraged ever; it just made me hate me and the world somedays. I miss care and connection, and I’m scared by it aswell. I am learning what being healthy is and trying my best to trust other people and find a life that is better.
But i have not let this stop me for any reason I am more determined than ever before to achieve my goals and dreams because I come from a place where I nothing is given to you,you have to take by working hard to get my objective done which is getting my masters program in cybersecurity and creating my own business in cybersecurity.
my mental health and well being is just as important as my physical health. Positive mental health and well being which enables me to function well, have meaningful social connections, positive self-esteem and be better able to cope with life's ups and downs which has an important impact on my goals, relationships and understanding of the world.
Mental health is a state of mental well-being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well, and contribute to their community. It is an integral component of health and well-being that underpins our individual and collective abilities to make decisions, build relationships and shape the world we live in. Mental health is a basic human right. And it is crucial to personal, community and socio-economic development.
Mental health is more than the absence of mental disorders. It exists on a complex continuum, which is experienced differently from one person to the next, with varying degrees of difficulty and distress and potentially very different social and clinical outcomes.
Mental health conditions include mental disorders and psychosocial disabilities as well as other mental states associated with significant distress, impairment in functioning, or risk of self-harm. People with mental health conditions are more likely to experience lower levels of mental well-being, but this is not always or necessarily the case.

Healthy Eating Scholarship
Healthy eating has many so many benefits, such as reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke, obesity, and type 2 diabetes. A person like me may also boost their mood and gain more energy by maintaining a balanced diet. my doctor or dietitian can provide further tips for eating a more healthy diet which I follow.
A well-balanced diet provides you with the ability to stay healthy and fight and stay virus-free from infections and provides you the energy you need to keep active throughout the day nutrients you need for growth and repair, helping you to stay strong and healthy and help to prevent diet-related illness, such as some cancers
Keeping active and eating a healthy balanced diet can also help you to maintain a healthy weight.
Deficiencies in some key nutrients - such as vitamin A, B, C and E, and zinc, iron and selenium - can weaken parts of your immune system,a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy can help to reduce your risk of heart disease by maintaining blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
High blood pressure and cholesterol can be a symptom of too much salt and saturated fats in your diet. eating a portion of oily fish - such as salmon and trout - each week can also help to lower your risk of developing heart disease. The high levels of omega-3 fatty acids in oily fish are good for heart health.
A healthy diet can benefit your physical, mental and social well-being in powerful ways. While the specifics vary, such a diet tends to emphasize nutritious whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and fish. It also provides sufficient amounts of calories, without going overboard, and ideally brings you enjoyment as well. Keep in mind that nutritional steps should never replace needed medical treatment. Especially if you have a health condition, talk to your doctor before making significant changes to your eating plan.
Healthy diet can have beneficial effects on your psyche. Eating when you’re hungry and stopping when you’re satisfied can help keep your blood sugar and energy levels in check, which promotes positive moods and clear thinking. Foods especially helpful for blood sugar control are rich in protein, such as lean meats, quinoa and low-fat yogurt, or rich in.
Eating well affects your body in positive ways. A study published in Progress in Cardiovascular Diseases in 2015 analyzed the effects of three diets: a Mediterranean diet supplemented with nuts, a Mediterranean diet supplemented with olive oil and a low-fat, calorie-restricted diet. The most health benefits emerged from the Mediterranean diets, which improved blood pressure levels, insulin sensitivity, inflammation and other markers of heart disease.
Upping your fruit and vegetable intake may help protect you from cancer, while supporting your immune system. Eating enough overall calories per day – ideally as part of balanced meals and snacks at regular time intervals – can help keep you energized. Healthy foods can even improve your sleep, which plays an important role in weight control.

Olivia Woods Memorial Scholarship
In life, there is always a turning point which is experienced by everyone. But it depend on different things, people or situations through which it occurs. The turning point of our lives is the time from where our lives became better and we began to understand what life is giving us.
In case of mine, i came to know about a book named "Way of Living". When i read this book, i was very surprised as i came to know about many amazing facts that i have never ever heard anywhere before. As the title itself shows what the book is representing, it contains hidden spiritual facts which are literally unknown to most of us. Before reading this book, i often felt like depressed because of my studies and career. But now i feel very relaxed and peaceful.
Why and how did it make such an impact on me? This books helps me in understanding what life is meant for. I know , that in this mordern world of science, there will be hardly anyone who will accept my thoughts of this spiritual book, but i want to tell u all that this is the truth that there is a Supreme Power beyond science and all mankind through which everything in this universe is stable.
Then after this book i also read the book "Gyan Ganga" which is from the same community as of "Way of Living". This book is also very knowledgeable for understanding the real meaning of life. These books are written by JagatGuru Tatvadarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji. He has written more several books which are really good. He also has told the name of the Supreme Power God in His books with solid proof. He has proved all His sayings in His books by all religions' holy books and scriptures.
The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. I read an excerpt from The Power of Habit in my local newspaper in 2012, shortly after the book was published. I’m a bit of a cheapskate so I don’t generally buy hardcover books — I’m prepared to wait the year until they come out in paperback. But not this time! I found the excerpt so compellingly written that I rushed and bought my own copy of the book right away. I now keep it in a shelf at my immediate right hand so I can grab it to read examples to my clients.
Duhigg’s book is a science-based one, filled with verifiable evidence — and pages of footnotes — but it reads like a story book with fascinating characters, plot and tension. What I learned about habits not only changed my life, but it gave me one of the best books I’ve read in the last 20 years.
Black Excellence Scholarship
Get it done
The term Black excellence refers to a high level of achievement, success, or ability demonstrated by an individual Black person or by Black people in general.
The term is often used to highlight and celebrate specific examples of such achievements and abilities of BlackExcellence.
In some cases, the term is used to refer to an aspiration or goal to be achieved, or to a mindset used in the pursuit of such success.
The term Black excellence is sometimes used in discussions about the disproportionately high levels of work that Black people must do and the abilities they must have to achieve the same success as white people as a result of the anti-Black racism and oppression of white supremacy.
Relatedly, the concept is sometimes discussed in critical contexts that point out that people who are considered to exhibit Black excellence often face unreasonably high expectations and standards, especially when they are held up as representative of the entire Black community. In this way, anything less than excellence or perfection may be viewed as failure, creating an impossible standard. Such pressure is often discussed as being detrimental to mental health and overall wellbeing.
In a business/office environment We'll get it done. is more than just accepting the task. It is also connotes, We won't fail to accomplish this task satisfactorily.
A manager telling an employee to get it done often implies either that the employee's current progress towards completion is unsatisfactory or that there is now an urgency to the task's completion. It could be both at the same time.
I would not replace do it with get it done. This is not because your meaning would be confused but because the latter seems harsher. From a manager, the phrase We have this important client project that I need you to do. is more polite than We have this important client project. I need you to get it done.
Get it done means to imply a lot of efforts for any work.It show the urgency to complete any work without delay. It also show our confidence towards any specific action.
As a black man I'll get it done /take action is a vow that means I'm in control ,I'm in charge because your word is your bond and a vow or when i make a commitment to someone or something I do my utmost best to try to fulfill this promise
To take action is an idiom that means to do something, to get involved, to act in order to get a particular result.
Dare to take calculated risks
I am a black man and I'm it's not very wise taking calculated risks because it's just too big of a chance to take where the result of taking risks can mean in reality something different to what the reaction will be when a white man takes the risks that I do.
Calculated risk is an unavoidable component of business success, so it is wise to mentally embrace the idea before you even draft a business plan. The fact is that most entrepreneurs have to put up some of their personal assets in order to finance early operations. If you can get past the level of fear that comes with such a risk, many benefits can await you on the other side. When you spend money to hire staff, rent office space, or build a prototype, you lay the foundation for the future growth you’ll need in order to succeed.
I think that when i recognize that geography matters in life it comes as you perform risk analysis on your potential venture as a black you think about where you’re located in relation to the markets you wish to reach and the partnerships you will need to achieve your goal. The San Francisco Bay Area has attracted many start-ups due to its proximity to venture capital and a wealthy consumer base. But a calculated risk taker may look at the Bay Area market and find it oversaturated, thus offering more potential risk and a lower odds ratio for success. Depending on your industry, it may make sense to locate a business elsewhere—although any location will feature its own relative risk.
Looking for free publicity in any given opportunity because a lot of start-ups burn through money via promotions especially in this day and age where Gen Z uses a lot of social media . One way to mitigate risk is to rely on news media for free publicity. Any entrepreneur would kill for a writeup in the New York Times or Wall Street Journal, but prepare to start small, like in a local newspaper or on someone’s podcast. Making yourself available for media interviews—no matter how small the publication—is a good way for calculated risk takers to limit their financial exposure.
Mental Health Importance Scholarship
Why do i believe my mental health is important? My mental help is very important because I remember when I graduated from the university and I just started working but covid19 came along and stopped me from going to work and this really affected me because I was just confined to my house and this was like in a bubble and I think I was not emotional ready for this whole sitting at home because it was very bad for me because it was not a situation I was used to and on top of that I lost my job .
To make matters worse during this period where I lost my job many of friends post pandemic started leaving the country to go further their education by doing their masters program and this affected me because I had discussed the fact that I wanted to further my education by doing my masters program abroad but unfortunately I had monetary problems which prevented from going abroad to further my education.
And then the more frustrating thing was that I lost my passport which was like the icing on the cake because i lost my just when things were looking up for me in terms of my dream to further my education because i had started making progress with schools but then i lost my passport and this affected me and this was a massive step backwards for me and i had stay at home because I had no job and this affected my mental health.
Mental Health plays a crucial role in my relationships and that is why it is very important because the link between mental health and relationships is one of the most compelling reasons for its importance. Mental Illness might have an impact on how we interact with our friends and family. Mental illnesses frequently result in passive-aggressiveness, hostility, and the incapacity to participate in social activities. This may result in conflicts with our friends and family. Mental illness has the potential to compel us to overthrow our loved ones for no apparent reason. Self-care for mental health and, if necessary, medication can help us live a mentally stable existence while also maintaining our relationships.
How do i maintain my mental wellness?
I get regular exercise like for just 30 minutes of walking every day can help boost my mood and improve your health especially during the covid19 in a bid to be healthy, regular meals and stay hydrated, and i try to make sleep a priority.
Dog Owner Scholarship
I have never owned a dog before but my grandmother had two and I went to see them and hung around them when ever I went to visit my Grandparents they go by the name George and Lucy they died a couple of years ago.
What role does/did our dog play in your life ? well our dogs were like our automated alarm clock because chances are we have been awakened by a wet nose, some slobbery kisses or a paw to the face. All part of the doggy alarm technique, just one of the benefits of a dog living inside your home. Most dogs don’t hesitate to let us know when they think it’s time to get up and start the day. While it may not be the best way to be awakened, it is pretty endearing.
Dogs were acting a our Personal Trainer helping to motivate us when gyming and you know pet owners tend to be more fit and active than non pet owners because of dogs help us get moving, even in the freezing cold or pouring rain they act like propellers.
Our dogs always acted as our friendly neighborhood watch and home security and whether we like it or not, many dogs tend to be vocal about what’s going on outside their house. The good thing us that was that the actually helped we when we almost got robbed but dogs came up clutch for us and kept barking which prevented the thives to flee and that is why they are important because they watch your house for free and burglars aren’t too fond of barking dogs.
Dogs increase your mood dramatically because it's pretty easy by just spending just 15-30 minutes with your dog can help you feel more calm and relaxed, reducing stress and increasing happiness. Playing with your pup increases your brain’s levels of dopamine and serotonin, both of which are neurotransmitters associated with pleasure and tranquility. So the next time you’re feeling down, grab a toy and spend some time with your pup! That wagging tail will be sure to put a smile on your face.
Dogs help increase social interactions alot and not only do dogs need care and playtime with their humans, but they need time to socialise with other pups too! This means that their humans will have a chance to socialise while they oversee the puppy playdates. Even going on a walk in the neighborhood can bring many new friends around and start many conversations!
Science Fiction Becomes Science Fact Scholarship
It is no secret that one of the many popular features of online games is its ability to connect with people around the world over the internet. i always love playing fifa 22,fortnite, call of duty online with my friends and it is always a blast because it is nit ideal for them to be with me physically to play in my Playstation 4 or on my laptop No matter how far a friend can be, the distance could always be closed-in with just a login from the computer. It has combined two mediums, namely entertainment, and communication. Studies show that people who play online games, like MMORPGs tend to easily get along with strangers, as their social interaction in-game allows them to be aware of other people’s culture.
Opposed to some studies, there are people who exhibit great social skills that they acquired inside an online game, as these people, if found out they are in the same location, would often plan meet-ups, and partake in social activities, much like any normal person. There are also scenarios where intimate relationships were formed inside an online game, and end up in real-life marriages. People often perceive online gamers as very sociable people, and easy to get along with.
Studies believe that this is because of the nature of some MMORPGs that promote teamwork in order to achieve tasks, or accomplish goals. As opposed to single player games that would have only one player accomplish the challenges. There are also large raid missions present in popular MMORPGs that require four to sixteen players to be huddled up in one dungeon in an attempt to conquer it, these forces players who are mostly strangers in real life to communicate, finding common ground in trying to achieve the task at hand.
Whether good or bad, we can be sure that online games have been a huge part of the digital age, and that they can play a positive role in shaping a person’s personality, or social capability. And as online games continue to evolve, and their massive library continues to grow, like in the Steam Store, or in other gaming sites. We can be sure that online games will continue to have an impact on our social behaviors.
Contrary to common opinion and a lot of coverage in the media, gaming has been found scientifically to deliver a number of cognitive and psychological benefits. Some of these findings have been summarized by neuroscientists. The effects can vary depending on the type of game, for example 1st person shooters, like Call Of Duty, are known to be more beneficial than more casual online games, such as Minecraft .

The Fog.
AFTER the Sea-Ship--after the whistling winds;
After the white-gray sails, taut to their spars and ropes,
Below, a myriad, myriad waves, hastening, lifting up their necks,
Tending in ceaseless flow toward the track of the ship:
Waves of the ocean, bubbling
the Sea-Ship--after the whistling winds;
After the white-gray sails, taut to their spars and ropes,
Below, a myriad, myriad waves, hastening, lifting up their necks,
Tending in ceaseless flow toward the track of the ship:
Waves of the ocean, bubbling and gurgling, blithely prying,
Waves, undulating waves--liquid, uneven, emulous waves,
Toward that whirling current, laughing and buoyant, with curves,
Where the great Vessel, sailing and tacking, displaced the surface ...
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
I now delight
In spite
Of the might
And the right
Of classic tradition,
In writing
And reciting
Straight ahead,
Without let or omission,
In any little time
That runs in my head;
Because, I’ve said,
My rhymes no longer shall stand arrayed
Like Prussian soldiers on parade
That march,
Stiff as starch,
Foot to foot,
Boot to boot,
Blade to blade
Learner Math Lover Scholarship
I am a huge fan of maths because when I was younger way back when I was in high school my High school teacher beat the hell out of me because i could not solve some mathematical equation he had just explained it was so embarrassing because I almost cried because of how hard my teacher had beat me so I promised I would never let that happen again and so that was how my love maths came about.
Numbers help us understand the world, and Math helps us understand numbers.
The real-life applications of Mathematics are endless. We are surrounded by numbers, equations and algorithms especially in this age of data science amd cybersecurity, with huge data sets that can only be understood through statistical models and analysis. Maths gives us the ability to view the world in a way nothing else can because of its simplicity.
Every maths problem is a new, fresh and unique challenge. i love solving problems and my love for challenges gives me adrenaline rush that i can not get any were else , when i finally solve a problem which initially seemed impossible is unparalleled. I feel like maths constantly keeps you on your toes and never gets monotonous like you can never get bored, so each new day learning in this wonderful subject area is unexpected and something you can look forward to.

How do I plan to make a positive impact on the world through my career in a social sciences field?I am pursuing Masters program in Cybersecurity in the field of Computer Science why did I choose it? Well I chose Masters in Cybersecurity because I come from a country Nigeria where cyber crime is at it's highest over in Nigeria it is called yahoo yahoo where by people are scammed of their money by using phone calls through voice manipulation ,emails and links.and as such I feel I can make a huge cultural impact in Nigeria in the way of thinking in my country because this is seen as one of the fastest ways of making money rather than going to school, graduating and getting a legit job the youths will prefer yahoo and If I can change the mentality of the youths.
Cybersecurity is crucial because and will help the society because it safeguards all types of data against theft and loss. Sensitive data, protected health information (PHI), personally identifiable information (PII), intellectual property, personal information, data, and government and business information systems are all included. Many websites would be practically impossible to enjoy if cyber security specialists did not work ceaselessly to prevent denial-of-service attacks. Consider not having access to Simple learning experiences and certified professional network not being able to make use of tips, tricks , methods, and guidance to help you reach your professional goals without needing to worry about protection and loss of data.
By implementing security in the society Cybersecurity makes businesses and individuals able to protect themselves against the full range of cyber security threats outlined below, as well as the numerous others that exist.
With cyber security, companies do not have to worry about unauthorized users accessing their network or data. It helps them protect both their end users (that is backend and frontend )and their employees.
Even in those rare cases that security does not prevent an attack or breach, it improves the recovery time afterward. In addition companies will often notice that customers and developers are more confident in products that have strong cyber security solutions in place .
Lastly I plan to help youths by offering scholarships to as many as possible to empowerment the youths by propelling them to be able to achieve their goals ,dreams and objectives.
I would also be offering free seminars to give a better understanding of the social science program I am going for which is Masters cybersecurity program to teach the youths.

What STEM major are you pursuing? I am pursuing Masters program in Cybersecurity in the field of Computer Science why did I choose it? Cyber Security Jobs Are in High Demand and that is another reason why i want to do i chose this stem program because of the need for cyber security professionals is at a very high volume and the demand for these cybersecurity professionals comes from the fact that many jobs now have significant sections of them automated. Most of the information is stored online, and that has had a direct impact on the increase of cyber attacks.
Another reason why i chose the Cyber Security as my stem program is because the salaries are high in the cybersecurity field because cyber attacks are frequent, oftentimes, even creative, and they cost businesses a good amount of money. The latter is the reason why many are willing to invest a lot in their prevention. As a result, cyber security salaries are mostly above average, even for entry-level jobs.
I am someone who likes challenges and getting to solve complex technical problems, the field requires quick thinking, and it has new challenges every day. Many field professionals consider their work as solving a big complicated technical challenge.it will fun finding how to hack the system, how to protect the system from a cyber attack, and how to make it safer. This makes cyber security a puzzle with two sides. On one side, you have to figure out how you could break in the system, and on the other, you have to figure out how to prevent that from happening.
Ms. Susy’s Disney Character Scholarship
What is your favorite Disney character ? my favorite Disney character is Hercules people would ordinary say Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Bambi or one of the other Disney characters that had a movie but I have to say the best character is Hercules not just because I like it but also It's frankly impossible not to feel energised by this powerful, Gospel-driven soundtrack, which is such a beautiful modern approach to the musical mood of this film. But it wasn't the initial musical direction it was supposed to be a gospel song but it a great choice in the end.
I have probably not watched any Greek mythology masterpiece like this more times than i can count and more than any other animated Disney film. After re-watching it again multiple times recently, and amid talk of a live-action remake which i say might be taken out of context Hercules still holds up as the best . Released in 1997, it's much younger than a lot of the films considered Disney classics, it has timeless.
Yes, these tales (such as the lion King of this world and the beauty and the Beast of this world )have their charms but i have to tell you that thrre is no movie like Hercules and no character like Hercules and in terms of the production it has studio's best movie and that's a fact.
It has timeless appeal compared to other characters With his smart jokes, well-rounded characters, vibes, solid animation, realistic authentication and culturally aware dialogue, Hercules is like a modern-day Disney movie when watched. It also features the first positive and progressive portrayal of African American women in a Disney animation which is very important in this day and age in terms of wokeness in the discussion of race and in terms of women empowerment
Supermom Scholarship
How does my mother motivate me ?My mother is my role model, she inspires and motivates me to grow without any barriers.my mother is all i have because my dad doesn't stay with me, i remember when I had to do an operation for the removal of my appendix she had to make sure that everything was done properly and rightfully she had to look for a well known hospital and paid for everything herself and even got me into an exclusive room which was expensive because she wanted to stay with me.
My mother looked after me and supported me in every part of my life. Right from childhood she has been with me like my shadow. It had been riddled with hurdles and difficulties, but she has managed to cross them all to because of the amazing and independent person she is.
I remember when I was in high school and I had bronchitis and I had to be taken to the hospital for treatment my mother took care of me throughout that period because it was very stressful for her because of her job and as such she had to put everything on hold for me because I was admitted to the hospital for weeks but she supported me both physically and spiritually with her prayers.
what inspires you the most about your mom? what inspires me the most about my mom is her determination and never say die attitude to lives challenges. My mom has Arthritis( Inflammation of one or more joints, causing pain and stiffness that can worsen with age.) and it prevents her from walking well and bending down but she didn't let that redefine her life she keeps striving and pushing believing that it is not the end for her even though she has been told that arthritis has no cure she keeps having faith that she'll be free from arthritis.
My mother has taught me that hard times can be overcomed and that losing battles can be won regardless of the situation and age is not a barrier . She has taught me more than I could have learnt from any book . She sets an inspirational example to me teaching me how to live life and make wise choices, even in the most uncertain situations. I respect her a lot for all she has done for me I remember when I going for my entrance exams how she would follow me there for support and even when I went for registration how she would follow up with me even with her legs that where hurting her.

What does recovery mean to me? Recovery means that you are working on successfully managing your addiction problems and regaining total control of your life. If you don't relapse after treatment, that's great meaning you are back in control of your life But once you're in recovery for your addiction or behavioral health condition, and you relapse one to many times, you're in recovery for the rest of your life.
I remember a friend of mine back when i was in the university doing my undergraduate program he had to be taken for rehabilitation because he smoked Crack and it affected his brain and he had to be withdrawn from school as a result of his bad grades due to his addiction issues.
He eventually overcame the struggle and challenge of addiction in his recovery process in another school and graduated .
Lotus Scholarship
How has coming from a single parent or low-income household led me to persevere through challenges? To be frank it has not been easy because I stay with my mum due to the fact that my dad married two wives so i have to stay with my mum,she has had to be the bread winner of the family and try to make ends meet .so for sure I have had to make sure that I tried to work hard in school and do a little work here and there in order to make make sure that I reduce the workload of my mother's shoulders.
Although my dad still comes over to see me and my younger sister once a week it's still not the same feeling as having a father figure in the family and as such I've had to be the man in the house as well as a big brother to my sister .
Also i have had to put food on the table because my mum has stopped working as the Cater because the company do not pay on time and owe her salary all the time so it's been very hard and on top of that I have had to go to school as well to futher my education and that is why I am trying to further my education by doing my masters in cybersecurity so I can get a job that pays well so I can over see all her needs .
How do i plan to use my life experience to make a positive impact in your community/world? By hosting a charity to drive up youth empowerment also by teaming up with a local organization, like a food pantry or a women's/Men's shelter. by Starting an employee volunteer program for unemployed youths and offering internships to scholars as well as offering scholarships to various colleges, universities to help people who have come from my type of background.
Donating my skills and services to the community that is participating in community service for example by starting a community garden because food brings people together and there are few better ways to foster a community than food which will help the community grow together.
Lastly supporting other local businesses this makes your community unique and your purchase goes a long way to keeping your area vibrant. for instance I can start by offering up spaces for events, concerts or community meetings .

The best back to school tip that always works for me is prayer because it can never go wrong for me whenever I commit my life and plans to God at the start of the school session .
I remember when I was in the university doing my undergraduate program and I had a couple of issues because of the course I was doing was a bit difficult but it is amazing what a little quick hour of prayer with God can do in my life and at the end of the day I passed the course.

Growing with Gabby Scholarship
How I've grown over the past year is by taking some classes in ethical hacking in the field of penetration testing for cybersecurity this is in preparation for my masters program in cybersecurity which is going to Start in the 2023 (spring January to be precise) I had to learn about some programming courses as well such as HTML, CSS,JAVASCRIPT,SQL.
I learnt how to install virtual box machine, kali windows on the virtual machine, and also install Metasploit on the virtual box for penetration testing on my windows 10.i had my first Nmap Scan,Nmap PING and noPING Scan and how to Bypass IPS & IDS Systems With Nmap.
I also started going to the gym (for my mental and physical growth )to work out, also to take my mind off things and keep my mind at ease ,I also started working out at home as well and was able to gain alot of body mass over the course of the year.
Lastly I was started taking driving lessons over the course of the year and then went to a driving school to strengthen my hands and eventually got my driver's license.
What event or situation inspired this personal growth? To be frank the event that inspired this growth is covid19 it really influenced me to try new things over the past couple of years due to the fact that I started working from home and thus I had more free time to myself.
What about you has changed, and what has remained the same? A thing about me that has changed in the year in discussion is my communication skills I feel i have been able to communicate with people a lot better over the past year because my job requires high levels of communication and I feel I have improved alot in that aspect , but what has remained the same has to be my willingness to learn (case in point my masters program) and why I'm trying to further my education by doing a masters degree program in cybersecurity and thus why I'm applying for this scholarship opportunity.
What I've learned through my journey of self-discovery is that family is everything and I can't imagine where I would be without my family by my side I would not have been able to achieve all I have been able to achieve without my family's love ,support, backing and prayers which have gone a long way in my life.
ALS Family Scholarship
ALS, (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) I remember when a friend of mine told me a story of how a relative was diagnosed with it about a couple years ago I recall how he told me about he felt and how it started he was so devastated he said it started with weakness around his arm,he said tried he to wash a couple things like clothes and plates but he couldn't get he his hand up to wash well and he felt maybe it was how he slept.
After sometime he realized that it was the same thing and there has been no change when tried washing his hair in the shower then he knew something was wrong.
So, he went to see the doctor and the doctor had him do some lab test and when the results came he realized it was ALS.he felt like he's world was crumbling around him like his whole world was falling apart but he was able to adjust to it and not fall into depression because of his wife and kids and relatives.
He said could get himself dressed up by himself until about four ,five months after visiting the doctor and getting the diagnosis. now he gets dressed by he's kids and wife.
How has ALS affected your life? Honestly it has affected affected by life because ALS is a disease that destroys nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, which control muscles throughout the body, ever since the my friends uncle got ALS it has not been easy for us because my friend doesn't really have much mtime for ourselves for instance i cover his shift at our place of work in order for him not to get sacked i sometimes had to give up some part of my salary and savings in order for him to make ends meet and it has not been easy for him truth be told.
How will this scholarship affect your career plan? This scholarship will make a big difference in my career plan because it will help me pay some part of my tuition for my program which is a Masters program in cybersecurity at New York University Tandon because of I have low income at the moment which is why I'm applying for this scholarship.
This scholarship will help me a lot and it will go a long way in helping me achieve my dream of doing my masters in my desired field which is in the Cyber Security field .
