Bio

Hi! My name is Jose, I grew up in a low-income family in Guatemala — I came to Los Angeles at the end of 2019. I will be attending the University of California Irvine as a first-generation college student in the fall of 2024. My goal at UC Irvine is to get involved in research because I will be able to gain hands-on experience in the medical field, apply this knowledge in a real-world scenario, and make a significant impact on my community and future generations of students. I am an undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Biological Sciences in preparation to attend medical school and become a physician. During my senior year of high school, I took college classes at LATTC about the medical field. While in high school, I was a part of UCLA AP Readiness, Gear UP LA, and EOP. Fun Facts: I love nature! When I am in nature — it is so relaxing to me. And I also love to see all the sublime flowers and the life cycle. I love traveling and experiencing new places and cultures!
