Ever since I was 15 I loved working with kids. I was a gymnast from ages 8-16, and then after quitting, ended up working as a coach at that same gym. The gym felt like home for me, and I wanted to be something special in the kids lives. If they had a rough home life, I wanted to be something/someone that made them forget, and feel comfortable and happy. About 4 years ago, my brother was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumor. His tumor was removed, and caused him to wake up hemiplegic, meaning he could no longer feel or move the entire left side of his body. This was traumatic for our family to watch, and experience. I went with my brother to physical therapy to regain his strength to learn how to move, and walk again. It was amazing to see, and truly bittersweet. From there on, I wanted to become a physical therapist to help others the way my brother's physical therapist helped him. But, my personal twist was that I wanted to help children specifically due to my past/current love for helping and being with them. I loved that my job started with teaching little ones how to do flips and tricks, and now I still want to help these kids, but in a more serious and specific manor. To help other children learn how to stand, how to walk, and how to live a healthy and happy life.
