If I were to thank anybody for my accomplishments, it would definitely be my mother. Growing up, I didn't have a passion for much and didn't have a clear goal I wanted to achieve. This ideology careries on even till now even when Im in college . But I knew that every day I stepped into school, I wanted to make my mother proud. From kindergarten up to my senior year, I earned straight A's due to her encouragement and her belief in my abilities. Even though she stopped physically helping me with my schoolwork in middle school, I knew she wanted me to apply myself the best I could. She would always tell me that she bragged about me at work from a young age. I didn't believe it until I walked into her workspace and was congratulated by people I'd never met before. The atmosphere was welcoming and at the time I didnt know what to say . I just stood there receiving hugs and alot of congratulations . This feeling was tremendous, and it made me feel like all my hard work didn't go unnoticed. Being an only child, it was just me and my mother, so I would spend a good amount of my time by myself or around people who didn't show much support. The people I was around had their own children so It wasnt much of thier concern on how I was doing in school they just made sure I was fed . Often, my ambition or drive for success would dim because of this. But every time my mom came back around, that light lit back up, and I stayed true to the task at hand. Her support unknowingly instilled a hardworking mindset in me . Everything I do till this day I do to my best ability . When I was announced as valedictorian, my mom knew way before I did and screamed at the top of her lungs. I was asleep, of course, and oblivious to what had happened, but the smile and laughter on her face made me really feel like I had succeeded. Till this day she would show me the embarrassing video of my nervously studdering on that stage . Walking across that stage and giving the first-ever valedictorian speech in my family felt more like a life achievement than an actual goal. My goal was to make my mother proud, and I know that I exceeded it.

As I write this on decision day, I can honestly say that I have a plan for my community or a way I can help it. Coming into my senior year I did not know about college. There was no thought of a dream school nor thought about my major. I honestly just enjoyed my last year of High school and lived my life. Now It's time, I see myself rushing to make a groundbreaking decision that determines my life. Even though my mind is made up I wish I could have made this decision earlier and rather than deal with the stress. This made me realize a way I could give a helping hand to my community and create more involvement in the world. In the expanse of six months of 6 months, I gained a lot of knowledge about college admissions. This knowledge may become useless in the next four years unless I share it. My goal to help my community is to educate the youth about college and help them in their next step in life. I constantly tell my junior friends about my struggles and what I went through in the admissions process. Any type of exposure can be helpful in the long run. This is one of the biggest decisions in your life, and it cannot be made alone and it honestly shouldn't be. By using my bachelor’s in computer science I will create a social media program that acts as a big brother/sister to anyone in need called “ The Next Step”. Just as I tell my underclassmen my experience, the program will utilize the same concept. This will give anyone in need, early information about colleges and requirements they want to attend from the people attending the specific college. Pictures and videos can be shared about the day-to-day basis of life in these colleges and trades. The synopsis is used to explain what they are doing and then the user decides, to stay or leave. As more people use the program more knowledge is gained and more opportunities are created. Viewers of the app can become creators and creators can view at any time. People spend most of their time scrolling through social media so I will utilize this information and create positive results. This program should be able to be used by all age groups making their next steps in life. As I start small with the inclusion of testing this program in my school, I will move to make it accessible to different counties and states till it can be used worldwide. The headaches, stress, and frustration are part of the process but you shouldn't let it affect you mentally. Social media has shown me that no matter at what stage you are in the process you still will have detours. The program itself isn't made to make your decision but rather to fill in self-doubts and or gaps in your thought process. Whatever your choice is should always be made by you and no one else this is one of the only restrictions on the program. With this, the next step in the path that anybody takes can be easier and help improve the decision-making process.
    Bold Climate Changemakers Scholarship
The thing I can do to have a positive impact on the climate is to educate people about the world they live in . Most people that physically don’t care about climate change are the ones that aren’t educated about the situation . Nowadays getting factual information about the ever so changing climate can be frustrating. The news is more centralized on politics rather than the world we lay our head . Even though politics play big part of our lives we should still care about the climate . We don’t see the ever so growing threat that climate change could effect us because it was so minimal in the past . Now that times have gone the minimal effect has grown . In time it may be too late but if I play my part things could possible get better . My duty would be in educating the masses about the climate and how it effects our future .
