Bio
I am a young agriculturalist from rural Montana and have been involved in countless service activities, community/school events, and extracurriculars. I will be attending Montana State University in the fall of 2024 in the pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education. Following college, I plan to be an Agricultural Education teacher and FFA advisor for a rural school. Since joining Ag classes and FFA in the seventh grade, this has been my dream career. I have a love and passion for agriculture and I believe that it should be taught in every school across the country as a core subject.

I plan to be an Agriculture Education teacher and FFA advisor for a rural school in the future. Since joining Ag classes and FFA in the seventh grade, this has been my dream career. I have a love and passion for agriculture and I believe that it should be taught in every school across the country. Throughout high school, I had a fairly rough experience in the ag ed department considering I was basically my chapter's advisor, alongside my mother, for two years. We had no ag teacher for this time and a weak FFA chapter on the years that we did have an advisor. We struggled to keep ag teachers for longer than a year and it was difficult to encourage kids to join FFA. We never had more than ten dedicated kids in our chapter who had the determination to stick with it, so I hope to bring a better experience to a high school in the future; one with consistency, strength, and organization.
Multiple important experiences have shaped the person I am today. I have been involved in 4-H, FFA, and many other local groups & organizations. The most impactful organization I have been involved in has been FFA. I became a member of the Chester-Joplin-Inverness FFA Chapter as a seventh grader in 2018, and this was just the beginning of a journey that would impact me to great lengths. I have now been an active member for 6 years and am in a new chapter, the Conrad FFA. I have competed in numerous different events and activities, such as livestock & horse judging, parliamentary procedure, extemporaneous speaking, mechanics, agronomy, etc. I have attended state-wide and nationwide events, like Washington Leadership Conference in Washington DC, Alumni Leadership Camp in the Highwood Mountains, the Northern International Livestock Expo in Billings, Montana FFA Ag Expo in Bozeman, among numerous other FFA events. One of my favorite Montana FFA events is Fusion/GOLD Conference, a leadership conference held in January in Helena, MT. We learn about leadership, career goals & preparation, and participate in numerous different rounds of mock interviews.
Through FFA, I have learned how to be a good leader with strong values & a positive impact. I am running for a State FFA Office in the beginning of April, and if I am honored enough to attain an office, I plan to share my message with the membership and anyone I come in contact with.
In terms of career goals, my most important short-term goal is to secure a long-term job in a Class B or C school within five years of graduating high school, either alongside another teacher or under a career mentor. I believe that this will help jump-start my career as a teacher and help give me the best foundation possible for being a successful and impactful teacher.

Volunteering · Chester, Montana - CJI Elementary Pre-Kindergarter

Mission:Last spring I volunteered to help paraprofessionals in the CJI Elementary administer testing and screening to students in the four-year-old kindergarten. We did physical as well as mental exercises, like hopping on each foot for 25 seconds and stacking blocks in various shapes. I was then required to grade them on their accuracy and abilities. It was not a difficult service, but it was very important to assess their readiness for the next grade. I had lots of fun interacting with the young students and gaining experience in the classroom.Chapter Member/Service Contributor

Mission:Last June, I volunteered to work a day of concessions for the Conrad Whoop-Up Days rodeo. We took people's orders and served them food alongside another youth group and the Conrad Lion's Club. I enjoyed getting to interact with people from our community as well as those from the surrounding ones by conversing and networking. Later that month, I volunteered to work two days of concessions for baseball tournaments in Conrad. I was the only member to volunteer for the first day but was thankfully joined by another member on the second. We served food and drinks to people attending the multi-team tournament as well as advocated for FFA by wearing chapter tee shirts. It was a great way for me to become more familiar with people within the community and school before the new school year started.Chapter Member/Service Contributor

Mission:In 2020, our FFA chapter in Chester organized a Christmas party, where we gathered together in the evening after sports practice and bonded as a chapter over food and Christmas movies. We also found lots of decorations and lights that we put up around both the elementary and high school to spread the Christmas spirit. It was a great opportunity for our chapter to be of service to the school and help bring joy to the staff & students.Service Contributor
Volunteering · Chester, Montana - Local Cattle Feedlot

Mission:For the winter of 2022-23, my dad and I traveled to a small feedlot south of Chester, MT, to feed cows and tend to all of the livestock. The owners of the feedlot are two of my biggest mentors in the cattle industry, and their health was struggling during this period of time. We cared for their operation while they were unable to. We fed hay and grain to the cattle every day, as well as checked on water troughs to make sure they weren't frozen. As the winter led into calving, we helped the Wickums by doing most of the calving for them and caring for the feedlot.Club Member/Service Contributor
Volunteering · Joplin, Montana - Cemetery
2016 – Present
Mission:For ten years, our Tiber 4-H Club has traveled to the cemetery in Joplin, MT, before Memorial Day to lay flowers on every headstone. We then return a week after Memorial Day to pick up all of the flowers, sort them, and store them at the cemetery for the next year. Usually, we gather 5-7 kids from our club to help set out flowers, but there have been situations where my sister and I have been the only attendees. The Tiber 4-H club loves involving themselves in the community in any way we can, and we really enjoy getting to be a part of small communities outside of Chester.
