Bio

I am an first generation Accounting and Management Information Systems student at the University of Houston who is passionate about leadership, professional growth, and helping others succeed. Prior to attending university I attended lone star college simultaneously in highschool to obtain my associates degree before graduting high school. I come from a single parent low income household, however I use that as motivation to acheive my accounting goals. After completing my first year with a 4.0 GPA, earning a Deloitte Tax Consultant Internship, serving as Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi(accounting honors organization), and actively participating in NABA, I have developed a strong foundation for my future career. While I take pride in my accomplishments, going into my second year, I am committed to making a positive impact on campus by mentoring students, sharing resources, and helping others achieve their academic and professional goals. With the experience and skills I’ve gained from my accounting career,I will create my own business called “Flenningan Finances,”(name for now) where I will focus on the areas of financial literacy, tax preparation, financial advising, and business consulting, where I will expand my reach to businesses and individuals, helping them to achieve their financial goals. In addition to my business, I plan to create a nonprofit organization that makes financial literacy accessible in underrepresented communities by visiting schools, marking the importance of financial literacy. Within this organization, I aim to create more opportunities for those less fortunate by sharing financial wisdom. In addition to promoting financial literacy, I also plan to establish a scholarship for students of challenging backgrounds. By equipping others with the power of financial knowledge and support, I hope to break cycles of economic hardship and inspire lasting change in the communities that need it most.
