    Nintendo Super Fan Scholarship
As a freshman college student at Eastern Michigan University applying for this scholarship, I find myself reflecting on the experiences that have shaped me and the values I hold dear. Among these experiences, one that stands out prominently is the countless hours spent playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with friends and family. While some might view gaming as merely a pastime, for me, it has been a source of joy, camaraderie, and valuable life lessons. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate isn't just a game; it's a platform for bonding and friendly competition. The beauty of this game lies in its ability to bring people together, regardless of their gaming prowess or background. Whether it's a heated battle between roommates, a friendly match with classmates, or a nostalgic session with siblings, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has always been the centerpiece of our social gatherings. One memorable moment that solidified Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as my top choice for co-op gaming occurred during a particularly intense multiplayer session with my closest friends. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon, and we had gathered in the dorm common room for our weekly gaming marathon. As usual, laughter and friendly banter filled the air as we selected our favorite characters and prepared for battle. The match started off innocently enough, with each player showcasing their skills and executing flashy combos. However, as the rounds progressed, the stakes became higher, and the competition grew fiercer. Soon, it was down to the final two players: myself and my best friend, Cromwell. With sweat beading on our foreheads and adrenaline pumping through our veins, we engaged in an epic showdown that seemed to transcend the confines of the game itself. As the timer ticked down and our health bars dwindled, every move became crucial, every dodge calculated. In the end, it all came down to a split-second decision, a perfectly timed smash attack that sent Crom’s character hurtling off the screen and secured my victory. The room erupted into cheers and applause as I celebrated my hard-fought triumph. But beyond the thrill of victory, what truly made this moment special was the sense of camaraderie and friendship that permeated throughout. In that instant, it didn't matter who had won or lost; what mattered was the bond we shared and the memories we had created together. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate isn't just a game; it's a testament to the power of friendship, teamwork, and perseverance. Through its multiplayer mode, I have learned invaluable lessons about sportsmanship, resilience, and the importance of forging meaningful connections with others. In conclusion, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate holds a special place in my heart as my favorite co-op game because of the unforgettable moments of camaraderie and joy it has brought into my life. As I embark on my college journey and pursue my academic and personal goals, I carry with me the lessons learned from this game: the importance of teamwork, the value of perseverance, and the sheer joy of shared experiences. With these lessons as my foundation, I am confident that I can overcome any challenge and make a positive impact in my community and beyond.

As a Male, Gay, African American college student in the United States, navigating the intersectionality of my identity has been both empowering and challenging. From a young age, I recognized that my experiences differed from those around me, as I grappled with understanding and accepting my sexual orientation within the context of my race and cultural background. Growing up in a society where heteronormativity often prevails, I faced internal and external pressures to conform to societal expectations of masculinity and heterosexuality. The journey to self-acceptance was fraught with obstacles, including fear of rejection from family and friends, as well as discrimination and prejudice from broader society. However, through self-reflection and the support of LGBTQ+ communities, I found the courage to embrace my identity proudly. Entering college here at Eastern Michigan University, as a Computer Science major, I envisioned higher education as a platform for personal growth and advocacy. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am committed to leveraging my education to advocate for equality and justice. Through my studies, I aim to develop the technical skills necessary to contribute to the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights through innovative solutions and initiatives. Whether it be developing software applications to promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity or conducting research on the intersection of technology and social justice, I aspire to make a meaningful impact on society. Receiving a scholarship would alleviate the financial burdens associated with pursuing higher education, allowing me to focus wholeheartedly on my academic and extracurricular pursuits. As a marginalized individual, access to resources and opportunities is often limited, making scholarships essential in leveling the playing field. With financial support, I can fully immerse myself in my studies and actively engage in advocacy work without the added stress of financial insecurity. Furthermore, the scholarship would provide validation and recognition of my identity and experiences as a LGBTQ+ individual. In a society that often marginalizes and invalidates queer voices, receiving support from institutions reinforces the importance of diversity and inclusion in academic spaces. It sends a powerful message that LGBTQ+ individuals are valued and deserving of opportunities for success. In addition to pursuing my academic aspirations, I am committed to fostering a more inclusive and equitable society for LGBTQ+ individuals. Whether through campus activism, volunteer work, or professional endeavors, I aim to amplify queer voices and advocate for systemic change. By challenging discriminatory policies and promoting LGBTQ+ visibility, I hope to create a world where all individuals are celebrated for their authentic selves. In conclusion, my journey as a LGBTQ+ college student has been shaped by both adversity and resilience. Despite facing numerous challenges, I remain steadfast in my commitment to advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and contributing to positive societal change. With the support of a scholarship, I am confident that I can achieve my academic goals and make a lasting impact on the world around me.

Hello my name is Jonathon Williams and through my life as a passionate musician, my journey through the world of music has been both enriching and diverse, with experiences ranging from classical piano to contemporary handbell ringing. From a young age, I was drawn to the transformative power of music, and my exploration has led me to discover the unique beauty and intricacy of handbell ringing. My musical journey began with classical piano training, where I developed a strong foundation in music theory, technique, and interpretation. Pieces such as Ludwig van Beethoven's "Für Elise" and Frédéric Chopin's "Nocturne in E-flat Major" ignited my love for classical music and instilled in me a deep appreciation for the art form. However, it wasn't until I joined my high school's handbell choir that I truly found my musical niche. Handbell ringing opened up a whole new world of musical expression for me, combining the precision of ensemble playing with the rich tones of handcrafted bells. Under the guidance of our director, I had the opportunity to perform a variety of pieces, each one presenting its own unique challenges and rewards. One of the most memorable pieces I had the pleasure of performing was "Fantasia on an English Folk Song" by Kevin McChesney. This piece, with its hauntingly beautiful melodies and intricate harmonies, challenged our ensemble to push the boundaries of our musical abilities. The delicate interplay between the bells showcased the expressive potential of handbell ringing, leaving a lasting impression on both performers and audiences alike. Another highlight of my handbell experience was performing "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" arranged by Cathy Moklebust. This spirited arrangement of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" brought a sense of jubilation and energy to our performances, showcasing the versatility of handbells across different musical genres. The rhythmic drive and dynamic contrasts of this piece allowed us to engage with the music on a visceral level, creating moments of sheer joy and excitement for both performers and listeners. As a college student here at Eastern Michigan University, my aspirations for advancing the art of handbell ringing are rooted in a desire to explore new frontiers of musical expression and innovation. I believe that handbell ringing has the potential to transcend traditional boundaries and captivate audiences in new and unexpected ways. Whether through collaborations with other musicians, experimental arrangements, or interdisciplinary performances, I am committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible with handbells. One composer whose work I deeply admire is Michael Glasgow, whose innovative compositions and arrangements have helped to redefine the possibilities of handbell music. Pieces such as "Shenandoah" and "Fantasia on Kingsfold" showcase his unique ability to blend traditional melodies with contemporary harmonies, creating a sound that is both timeless and fresh. In pursuing this scholarship to further my musical education, I am eager to continue exploring the art of handbell ringing and contributing to its evolution as a vibrant and dynamic musical form. With dedication, creativity, and a deep respect for the rich tradition of handbell music, I am confident that I can make a meaningful contribution to the advancement of this art form and inspire others to discover the beauty and magic of handbell ringing.

Pursuing higher education in such a scenario is a bit like a marathon with hurdles. For me, every obstacle became a reason to push harder, to show my child that perseverance and education are fundamental. The struggle of balancing parental responsibilities with study sessions was a daily reality. But through this, I learned exceptional time management skills and the importance of seeking support. It wasn't easy, but every assignment completed, every lecture attended was a step closer to a brighter future for us both. My dream wasn't just about personal success; it was about creating a better life for my child and setting an example of resilience and determination. I aimed not just for a degree but to be a role model, showing that circumstances don't define your capabilities. Now, about making an impact in my community—it's personal. I've seen the struggles and the gaps firsthand. My goal is to create support networks for single parents pursuing education, perhaps by establishing mentorship programs or advocating for better childcare options. I want to be the person I wished I had when I started this journey—a guiding light and a source of support for those facing similar challenges. Juggling between parenting duties, work, and studying has been incredibly demanding, but it's also taught me invaluable skills. Time management, perseverance, and resilience have become my allies on this journey. I've sought out flexible learning options, such as online courses and evening classes, to accommodate my parental responsibilities. My experience as a single parent has fueled my passion for making a positive impact in my community. I understand firsthand the struggles that many single parents face—financial hardships, lack of support, and limited access to resources. I aim to become an advocate for single parents, working towards creating more accessible childcare options, advocating for policies that support working parents, and establishing support networks for others in similar situations. Education has empowered me, and I want to share that empowerment with others. I plan to mentor young single parents, encouraging them to pursue their educational goals despite the challenges. Additionally, I aspire to volunteer my time with local organizations that focus on education and family support, aiming to uplift and empower families in need. Empathy drives my desire to contribute. Whether it's through volunteering, initiating community workshops, or simply being there to listen and advise, I aspire to make a meaningful difference. Education opened doors for me, and I believe it can do the same for others.

I am currently thinking of is when my family and I went to downtown Detroit and went to help provide food and shelter to those with housing deficiencies. We bought hotdogs, burgers, basically all the supplies that we needed. It wasn't my first time being in Detroit, but it was my first time assisting my family in feeding the homeless so I was a bit scared. It lasted from at least 7 in the morning to around 1 PM. So hopefully that can provide a better description of how much supplies we bought. And seeing the people that needed our assistance I was completely shocked. I mean having a good life such as my own and seeing in person how many people truly appreciate the assistance was baffling. Compared to seeing it on tv and being able to somehow ignore it. The one moment that truly had been broken down in tears was when an older woman who seemed to be a Grandmother asked very politely if she could have a few bagged lunches for her Grandchildren. And my mother gave them to her without hesitation and with a few extra waters in case she was thirsty. At first I thought it was really cool but then didn't think much of it like many others do. But man, driving off after we finished providing all of our supplies and seeing her and her grandchildren eating the food that we created we all were crying while driving off. It's things like that that truly have opened my eyes to how many people are and have been homeless and how I can help provide them with anything they need. Since then all those years ago I have constantly dedicated myself to helping my community by providing food for the shelters, routinely providing more food and shelter to people during the colder months. Which in Michigan are absolutely horrendous. I would wish nothing more than to eradicate homelessness and hunger and I would be extremely grateful to receive this scholarship to help that dream come true. Thank you for reading and have a pleasant day.

As many do when they are young they take life for granted. As I was no different, being an elementary student at the time meant that I was even more oblivious than most. It all changed when I had a headache getting off of the school bus coming home. It was no different than previous ones and I treated it as such, until this was proven wrong. Later that night I took a bath and attempted to go to sleep. The searing pain in my head was so great in fact, that after this occured I had to ask my parents what happened as I was incoherent. I was crying and sobbing and just as quick as it started, I fainted. My parents then rushed me to the hospital where I was later diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. From that point forward this changed the complete trajectory of my life. In which I am still dealing with the after effects. The doctors said that it was random and nothing I did caused it but I still always took it upon myself to remember to never take your life for granted and to always be thankful. These statements are more prevalent now than ever in my life as I now am preparing greatly for college. It would mean the absolute world to me if I were able to use this scholarship to not only assist pay and take the next step toward my adulthood, but also to finally take the weight off of my parents for everything they have provided and guided me through. Thank you for reading and have a pleasant day. I believe that when I become an established engineer, I will be able to do things that previously I never thought possible. I say this because throughout my life I have been faced with countless trials and setbacks. From being born premature, to being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. And still even through all of that I want to show many different individuals of color like myself, that regardless of what challenges you may face in life you can still do it just as I did. And with this specific point of view of mine I also believe that it would greatly benefit others if I would mentor. As with my way of thinking and the experience that I have come through I believe that my advice would offer a different perspective of sorts. I also would very much enjoy giving back to my community and creating projects for my community. Whether it is to increase funding or to assist individuals with housing deficiencies, I would enjoy it regardless.

Although there are many different cities that are located across the world, I believe that there is only one that would not only benefit me the most in my future employment, but would also train me in order to become much more marketable to potential employers. I believe that the city in question is Kennewick, Washington. Now at first, many of those that are currently reading this would significantly disagree with this statement. But I will explain my position as to how this would substantially benefit me in multiple different facets. According to https://engineeringonline.ucr.edu/, (https://engineeringonline.ucr.edu/blog/leading-u-s-cities-with-the-best-opportunities-for-engineering-graduates/) the rates of living compared to other STEM affiliate cities is considerably less. Not only that, but the amount of housing and rent costs is much less compared to many other cities across the United States. And to further my point on that note, I compared the cost of living of Seattle, Washington to Kennewich, Washington and my calculations proved that the entire cost of living on average from Kennewich to Seattle was 38% lower on average. This is proven by nerdwallet's cost of living calculator that on average and median 2 bedroom apartments rent is $2,724 while a median home while both being in Seattle, would cost a whopping $826,200. While in Kennewick an median 2 bed apartments rent would be $958 while the median homes price would be nearly more than 50% of a homes price in seattle at $410,425. Now on a different note, I also believe that working and living in Kennewick, Washington would also help me become more marketable to potential employers in the future. As Kennewick is near the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, there would be a large number of engineering professionals coming in and out of Kennewick, Washington for opportunities to work with the best in their respective industries. So as a result there are many different engineering internships that are available for newly college graduates. This would prove to employers that I am able to work in competitive environments while also proving that I have a particular way of thinking by choosing to live and work in Kennewick, Washington as opposed to the multiple other cities that I could have chosen. Overall, I believe that Kennewick is currently the best (and most affordable) choice for new engineering graduates. This has been proven with my statements about the rate of living, job availability, and finally marketability. If I were able to be granted the Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship it would mean everything to me. As throughout my life I have gone through many hardships, from being born premature, to receiving chronic kidney disease diagnoses as an Elementary student. I have proven time and time again that I am here for a reason. And now as a near Senior in High School I want to finally pay back my parents from their nearly lifetime of imparting knowledge and hope into myself and my life. And with the possible receiving of this scholarship I can take the first step into the next section of my life with college. I have also always had a very large focus on electronics and computer engineering. At first it started out as most do, playing and developing into an interest in video games. But this then blossomed into a love for Computer Engineering. I would be utmost thankful if this opportunity were bestowed upon me. Thank you for reading, and I hope you consider me in some capacity.

And even providing food to my school. Its just saddining how many people are out there and need assistance. And even more so how many people are completely oblivious and even worse, just truly don't care at all! I would wish nothing more than to eradicate homelessness and hunger and I would be extremely grateful to receive this scholarship to help that dream come true. Thank you for reading and have a pleasant day.
    Dog Owner Scholarship
During my treatment, my parents decided to get me a new puppy to hopefully raise my spirits. I had never had a dog before but she was perfect. The right size to sit in your lap, perfect color, and she bases what she does off of your energy so if you relaxed she will or if your excited then she will too. Her name is Sieanna, she is brown, four years old, and a shih tsu.
Learner Scholarship for High School Seniors

    Craig Norrbom Baseball Scholarship

I have been drawn to study oceanic health for a number of reasons. As many do when they are young they take life for granted. My parents have made very large scale differences in our community. When I look throughout my life I think of many specific moments where they showed up for a community.
