Our perspective is meaningless without others' perspectives. History repeats when perspectives are not shared; therefore, we must stay humble and open-minded to ensure negativity diminishes and positive impact occurs. I grew up with a passion for learning about the world around me, both mechanically and personally. I pursue engineering because I strive to learn how things function and how to improve them to better the world ecologically and industrially. I endeavour to meet and listen to people's stories and beliefs to be able to understand and help those around me. I do not strive to hold materialistic valuables, but rather sentimental, empowering creations and efforts. I spend my time either learning philosophy or exploring culture and perspectives beyond my other hobbies. As for what I have done, I have accumulated over 100 hours of community service through my school's National Honor Society and acquired the position of Treasurer. I have also provided my service for my school’s Interact Club, managing blood drives primarily. I have participated in leading the student council for 2 years as treasurer. I have also volunteered as part of our tech crew, aiding in school events such as musicals, plays, and board meetings for 3 years. Outside of school, I have held an apprenticeship coaching tennis to the youth(ages 6+) for a few months with Jonathan Newman. While others pursue a foundation for themselves, I pursue creating a foundation to help others find that foundation. That is my goal.

Have you ever felt the good feeling of making an impact? The feeling of being important in the sense that you contributed to something meaningful? That's the exact thing that motivates me to contribute to my peers, school, and community. Since freshmen year of high school, I have become involved in my school, joining the boys tennis team and joining the tech crew, both groups having seniors who were graduating and would be left with barely anyone. I helped build our tennis program along with others and successfully won our Del Val Team league this year. I also helped manage and help the girls’ tennis team since my sophomore year. Starting in my sophomore year, I joined the Student Council as Treasurer, our brand new Special Olympics Bocce team, where other teammates and I helped build a program where special education students could expand these activities. I also joined the interactive Club, helping with Beka’s Blood Drives, eventually managing and prepping the Blood Drive in my senior year. I’ve also found myself helping out in communities as well. During junior year, I went to a Thanksgiving food drive at St. Daniel's Methodist Church in Chester, where I, along with other community members, made and packed 100’s of meals for the community. Also during my Senior year, I found myself helping Coach Jonathan Newman, a professional tennis coach, coach kids as young as 6-year-olds for 3 months, similar to how Ethan Joner taught tee-ball. After hearing Ethan’s story and growing up knowing him, it inspired me to take several steps further to help others. Everything I have and will do will be because of the values I have and the inspirational story of Ethan Joner, as I walked home once during the summer, talking to him and hearing about his dreams as a lifeguard and his goals. He was the most driven person I’ve met, and I want to help carry his legacy by contributing to not only my community but the world. After high school, I plan to attend the University of Louisville for Electrical Engineering, planning to attempt to double major in Mechanical Engineering. Once I go to college, my immediate plan is to get into the tennis team or tennis club team, join groups that do community service around the school and community, and be a leader in the community, helping those who want to play tennis, achieve my degree, or provide general support. After college, I plan to maintain my civic duties and humanitarian duties and will get involved with organizations to help children, struggling families, and other groups that I want to help. Even in college, I will try to do the same. But I don't plan to just join clubs, groups, and organizations; I plan to be active and hopefully achieve positions of leadership. I live by the idea that I seek to build a platform for not just myself, but everyone, as everyone deserves equal opportunity, and sometimes all they need is support, and that's what I want to accomplish in my lifetime.
