My life goal is to be someone that other people can rely on for help and rely on for taking care of them. This is why I want to be an ER nurse, so that I can be one of the first responders in helping patients get the care that they need to return back to their families safely. I am working towards achieving this by going to college, doing internships at my local hospital, and doing community service.
I consistently go to Church at my local parish and serve as an altar there every weekend, as well as when I do not have school. I enjoy offering my service back to my community, as they have done a lot for me and it is only fair that I give back to them.
I love doing activities such as running, weightlifting, reading books, and researching on topics that interest me, such as biology.

As someone who has lived in Hawaii since birth, my parents have always taken me to the park to play, fly a kite, or have a picnic. It is an important duty for volunteers, and those willing, to take the time to pick up litter, plant some trees, and dig up weeds in areas that allow them to give their service. In terms of shared community spaces, I believe that they have potential to increase awareness and help in caring for the environment and future of Hawaii. As long as there are people who are willing to help care for these spaces, then it has the potential to be a step in the process of healing our home.
Currently, I am still a student who is working towards their goal of becoming an ER nurse. College is certainly a way of deepening your connection to yourself, but it is also a way to connect yourself deeper with the place that you live. Although, I plan to continue volunteering and engaging with community efforts to care for the environment. Participating in events such as park cleanups, volunteering at a lo'i, and getting my hands dirt have always brought me joy. Moreover, I plan to sign up and show up at events that I can find so to have a hand in caring for the islands that have raised me and allowed me to grow up in a loving and caring place.
Now, I know that nursing students have a lot of work cut out for them, but that is no problem for me. By getting rid of bad habits and letting in good ones, I've trained a good mindset for finishing work on time so that I can do things like volunteering, more readily.
My family always signs up for financial aid, be that in my current school, future school, or past school; we always need financial help to send both me and my brother to good schools. Our family doesn't make the most money, but we make enough to get by, and if I can get a scholarship to help our situation out—even just a tiny bit—then I can do my part in easing my parents' stress and worry. I want to help my family and return to them even just a tiny bit of the care and love that they have given to me over the course of my life. Hawaii and its islanders are just part of my family. Just as my family has cared for me, I too want to care for my family as well.
