Beacon of Light Scholarship
The reason I decided to pursue education in health care is for two main reasons. Which are my past experiences and my family. These two drive me to become a career in healthcare and expand on my future career goals.
The first one is that in my life I have had misdirection's or misguided by a lot of doctors, but I did have one that led me in the right way. Having this experience made me want to become a doctor to make sure those struggling with their health aren't misguided or dismissed when they have serious or underlying issues. I want to spend the time to make sure that my patients are taken care of, understand their health issues, and be a strong leader in making sure to figure out every situation that comes through. While also enhancing those traits that one good doctor used that made me feel seen, which was the good bed side manner. She never made me feel rushed or not heard, I could comfortably tell her my issues and expect a valid explanation or test to figure out what was wrong. using this in my practice will help me be a good leader and doctor that patients feel comfortable with.
The second one is my family, I am the first generation to go to college and that is a big deal. But I didn't just want to stop there, because I wanted to push the goals and expectation line further so that everyone in my family could succeed and live comfortable. I struggled with financials growing up and I didn't want my future family nor my immediate family now to struggle anymore. So becoming a doctor with great morals and there for my patients, while also making the money to support my family drives my motivation to pursue education in healthcare.
I always thought about my future and the life that I wanted to live, so that came with many goals. One of my many goals is to become a career in the healthcare that I actually enjoy, although there are money and healthcare benefits, that is no my main goal. I want to become a doctor that helps out people who are overlooked in the medical field. Specifically, I had many troubles with my stomach and couldn't get the correct helped. Which is pushing me to go into gastroenterology because it is something I will enjoy and make a difference. One of my second goals are having those benefits talked about before to support my family. I want everyone to not have as much stress as they do know, and pushing myself to work hard and do it for not only me but my family encourages me to keep on going. A personal goal that I think about it giving my future family a good stable life. I want to be able to afford and show my future kids on how to do something you love to do and not worry about the money because what you love will make you more happy.
Those two reasons on why I want to become a doctor push me everyday to try even harder than yesterday and give my all. My goals in life are written down so I can look back and see the outcome I want of my career. On how I want to be successful not only financially but morally. Helping my patients solve those underlying issues that aren't solved. Once I complete those and become something I love I know that I have succeeded in life.
I Can Do Anything Scholarship
My dream version of myself is to be a doctor and a real estate agent; two things that are in my field of interest that I will show that I am determined to make it happen no matter what and become the best I can be to experience life to its fullest extent.
Harry Potter and the Sorting Hat Scholarship
The house I would be sorted into is Slytherin. Although there are many dark and negative views of the house, there are traits that make you a better, stronger person. This house fits me perfectly, and this is why.
Most people think of cunning when they hear Slytherin; I take it as determination. The people who are sorted into will always take opportunities and strive to the top. This shows how I am always willing to be the leader and take responsibility when I need to. In school, I am always determined to do my best and get involved to show who I am as a person. Having this trait in me has helped me build meaningful connections with teachers in my life, using it to get great recommendations for college. When running for positions in clubs or my grade, although I didn't get some, it has helped me see what different approach I can take. Talking to people, showing them the real me.
Next is ambition, like determination; this one is always making sure we get to succeed in life. For me, I am always thinking I can do better, whether it is with grades, jobs, or characteristics. I can always improve myself and be the best I can be. If I get a 98 in class, I wonder what I can do to get myself to 100. No matter what, I am always striving hard to achieve all my goals. The ambition in me also has to do with the passion in me to always make sure I can be better. Not just stop at the mediocre traits or goals, but see what I can do in the next year to be better. When it comes to characteristics, I look up to the people around me, changing things about me one by one and working on myself is the thing I take pride in. I have the passion to always give it my all. Although it is hard to change, I have the patience to take my time and not rush it and go back to old habits.
The last adjective is resourceful; we take what is given and make it better. Such as criticism, I have learned to accept it and change it to better myself. I make sure to listen to the people around me and ask how I can be better. Showing that being resourceful has become a part of my traits, I also use this for problem-solving; I take everyone's perspective on a problem and find a solution to help everyone improve. I make sure people are happy with the outcome, and although not everyone can be happy, I try to help them see the best in it. Having this skill has helped me take the scraps of life and turn them into a project. Also, taking each of the mistakes I have made and taking time to look over them has helped me improve. Like with friendships, school, and even family.
These three adjectives that describe Slytherin are not always bad things. And even though a lot of Slytherin is a part of Voldemort's command, that does not mean it is such an evil house with evil people. I am perfect in this house because every trait described matches my personality. Making sure I succeed no matter what, getting to the top to show my skills, and using the things around me to better myself and the people in my life show that Slytherin is the best match. I could not imagine myself in any other house. Slytherin is me.
Learner Higher Education Scholarship
Higher education is important to me because my family has not been that successful to keep on going to get higher educations, for example my uncles or aunts barley even made it to college. My siblings and I started to changed that by going to college. My brother wanted to go father to finish law school that is why it inspired me to keep on going and see my options for a better future.
So higher education is important for you to be more educated and change your family's history. It can lead someone to be happy and satisfied with their job and life. With just motivation is take you far. Higher education opens so many opportunities for your future. That's why for me I want to finish college and want to go to medical school. Not only to gain more knowledge but for me to complete my long term goals in life.
Higher education is so important for everyone to have, if you don't have a family that pushes you and prioritizes college it will be harder for people to complete an important step in their life. I learned that from my mother who told me her life story and said she had to push herself. So no matter what situation you always need self determination and motivation. That shows how higher education can change your whole families history with education and money situations. That's why it is important for my family to continue with the higher education path. The importance is to gain knowledge, change your families history, and live a happy, satisfied life.
