Reaching the goal of playing college football is just an amazing achievement and blessing from the grace of God. The blood, sweat, and tears I put in finally paid off, growing up with a working immigrant parent with five kids. I knew life was going to be very hard . There were lots of odds stacked against me. Life attacked me financially and mentally, finding lots of battles . My dream of playing college football was never shut down instead of giving up through the difficulties in my life. I use them as a form of motivation to help me push forward in life. Playing college football wasn’t just a goal. It’s really about proving people wrong. Also to prove to kids that to come from my community in my background that you can do whatever you want to, you just have to put in effort .
I was at the top of my class on the principles honor list, because athletic success requires a strong commitment to the classroom.
In addition to keeping my academics serious, I understood that the community wasn’t always the best, but I still made good of what I had. While the kids extra while other kids in my area, didn’t really take on extra curricular activities. I decided to step up and help in many ways. Which led me to joining a brotherhood group called Umjoa what led me to start my career and community service and help people from all ages young to old. Not only just help me stay with the community. Show me like lessons of lots of leadership and character development. The the ongoing ethic I had volunteer. I brought it to the classroom and to the football field.
Lastly, My mother's sacrifices played a huge role in my success. She may not have been able to give me everything I wanted, but she gave me things she could give like love and a great work ethic that was built on her struggles as an immigrant. Being able to grace football in college is an achievement that I hold close to my heart. It shows my athletic ability through hard work, perseverance, and support from those around me with the use of academic focus, community mentorship, and the sacrifice of my family, I was able to turn my dream into reality.I hope to achieve a successful life without worrying and difficulty and being able to help heal the younger generation and improve their lives.

One of the important elements that led me to this incredible moment in my life was my ability to balance academics and athletics, which was really challenging. My family were caring and supportive, but couldn’t provide me with the abundance of resources that other children had, such as training equipment and college prep courses. However, it didn't stop me. I use the discipline I've developed to train myself and work out for hours on end in the weight room, on the football field, and in the classroom. As a young kid, I never really knew what diabetes was or How would you get it but however, one dawning Day, the word diabetes would be stapled in my life forever. What happened may you ask I almost lost A father a care giver and a strong Role model in my life. diabetes almost took my godfather when I was 10 what happened was His diabetes was genetic My godfather mother Was killed by diabetes, which led to the gene being passed down to my godfather. it was very tragic to see my godfather unconscious on the floor not knowing what to do at 10 years old him me and him being the only people in the house. I ran inside and started yelling to call 911. I cried all day all night I really didn’t know what happened to my dad. I thought he was dead.
I thought I’ll never able to see him again. He was in the hospital for weeks and weeks, it was a very sad time for me only at the age of 10. I almost losing my role model when I was in the hospital with him I was Reminiscing about how my godfather always used to take me to Chuck E. Cheese and he is always win me prizes and take me to school every morning. That was the highlights of my moments with him the early morning drives to school. There is a bond with him and going to multiple places with him even going to his place of work and enjoying the present of my god father at work. In addition, I found out my dad had to cut off his toes which caused him to be depressed so the first couple of weeks with having him back. I was happy but he wasn’t happy as he used to be, but he still trying to put on his best face for me the son he never birthed.
As I got older And my father got older the diabetes started to take his eyesight, slowly almost becoming blind in one eye so one of my favorite moments of him, driving me to school in the morning was gone his diabetes was so bad later in his life caused him to become unconscious again in front of my eyes when I was 15 diabetes almost took my role model again five years later I thought he was gone this time, but he kept fighting for me for his one and only son that God gave him .
Even though he can’t drive no more because of his foot and his eyesight, he stood thrives to help me become a better person And still tries to take care of me, even though I have to take care of him because of his health. I am choosing the field of law-enforcement because ever since I was a kid I barely seen officers that look like me. Reflecting on growing up in a large city, there wasn’t many people of color and positions of power, especially roles like law-enforcement. A lot in the media in my community, they paint police officers as hostile forces more than protectors. However, I have realize that being in law-enforcement could be very impactful as black man to the younger generation. My decision to forward myself into law-enforcement comes from the desire so stop the gap between black communities and people in law-enforcement. There’s a lot of distrust and colored communities and law-enforcement, which I have experience with my own eyes.
I however, I think the better solution is to bring more people into these type of roles, then to push them away I want to be the kind of officer who understands people and helps the community better themselves. A police officer. A young kid can look up to as a compassionate and advocate for the generation. As the black student, I want people from my community to feel hearted and respected by law-enforcement, not judged or feared I want to bill for trust in my community. there’s so much room for change in law-enforcement. It’s not something that can happen from the outside. It’s gonna have to be an inside job. It’s going to take people who really cares it’s going to take people who could confront issues and believe in the power of actions and words. I want to use my position of power, not just to create positive change, but to be a symbol and example for those who feel under represented in positions of authority, we need more Black people in the force because even in our community when people here we want to become cops, we are judged and looked at differently, but I feel like it shouldn’t be that way we should all be in one community. We are all humans no matter the color, ethnicity or race we should be working together for the bigger picture. Sometimes it hurts inside that we feel like this about each other. How we have to how some people have to be scared of law-enforcement.
It’s sad that that is the reality for some people based off a past traumas or the social things they see social media in the news it really shows that law-enforcement officers Nemo representation so as a black student going to college, I want to change the statistic that black men can’t be in law-enforcement and to help my younger generation rise up and join positions of power and come in unity.

As an upcoming college student, I am dedicated to using my education for the greater good as a future police officer and college football player. Both of these career goals have driven my aspirations and goals, and I am willing to learn and acquire skills that will allow me to give back.
Most importantly, being a police officer is a calling that stems from my love for serving and protecting people. I have witnessed in my own life how much of an impact law enforcement can make in obtaining order, providing assistance to those in need, and providing a sense of security to a populace. I, as a criminal justice degree-seeking student, am learning about the intricacies of the legal system, ethics, conflict resolution, and the importance of community policing. These are essential skills for any officer to have, and I believe my education will give me a good foundation of how to work through the complex issues that law enforcement agencies have to face today. I intend to utilize my education to be a compassionate and impartial officer who prioritizes establishing trust within the community. I would like to create good relationships between the police and residents they serve, particularly in marginalized or underrepresented communities. Besides, I believe that learning provides a person with an opportunity to shatter stereotypes and broaden minds. From my college courses, I expect to learn not only about the practical realities of police work but also about the social, economic, and cultural trends that can affect crime and justice. By knowing these things, I would like to be an officer who approaches situations with empathy, making decisions that not only enforce the law but also empower people and families who may be in need.
In addition to my aspirations for law enforcement, I am dedicated to helping people through college football as well. Football has always meant so much in my life, and I believe it teaches us invaluable lessons of teamwork, leadership, and discipline—values which I will be carrying with me to the professional career that awaits me as a police officer. Being a member of a team is not a matter of playing for oneself alone but of helping others improve and working towards one goal. Through college football, I aspire to be a role model of perseverance, hard work, and mental toughness, showing these qualities to my peers. I also know that athletes are sometimes role models, and I am looking forward to utilizing that role to motivate others to pursue their dreams with hard work and integrity, as I am pursuing my academic and career objectives.
All of this, I can consider as a way towards good change within my community. As a future officer, I would be open to protecting and serving with empathy and compassion, and as a college football athlete, motivating others to reach greatness on and off the field. By combining these passions, I feel that I will be able to have a lasting, positive impact on the people around me.
