Hello my name is John I live in Wheaton Illinois, I am currently enrolled in an automotive technology course at Triton Community College. I aim to become a master technician in the next 5 years to pursue my dream of working on cars for a living. I first realized I liked working on cars my senior year of high school where I went to Technology Center of DuPage to work on cars for half of the school day. While there I learned valuable lessons and was able to work with my classmates as if we were in a shop of our own.
I just finished my first semester at Triton College where I was learning how to do brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical. I ended the year off with a 4.0 GPA which was able to help me land a job at a Honda dealership. While at school I was able to apply what I was learning on my own personal vehicle and classmates vehicles as well. I was able to help my friend change his rear drum brakes because of what we learned and it made me want to help others even more.
Outside of the automotive world I also have helped people in other ways. During high school I always tried to be on top of my academics so when others would struggle I would always try and help. Back in my sophomore year of high school I received an award called a "Raider Class Act" which is basically an award where I excelled in something specific and went above what I had to do. I got this award because in English class a few students would struggle and I tried to step up as much as I could. In my senior year I also received an award but this time it was more on an individual level. We had this award called "TCD Student of the Year" only one person from each school can receive such award and I was lucky enough to get that award for my school. I was told I excelled not only academically while going to the Technology Center of DuPage but I also helped my classmates that were confused.
In conclusion, I have tried academically as well as physically helping people and in doing so I believe I have helped make a positive impact on those I come Into contact with. I am still very much excited for what my future holds in front of me and I am eager to excel in the Automotive world.
