Bold PointsBio
I am looking to switch career paths entirely from communications to electrical engineering because I want to actively participate in making the world a better place. I want to directly participate in important work such as solar panel systems design and implementation, upgrading aging electrical infrastructure, designing electric/hybrid vehicles, and other similar fields that contribute to sustainable and/or renewable energy, phasing out fossil fuels, and designing and implementing systems that promote smarter electricity production and consumption. For years I've read about the advances made by engineers, and the engineering work being done, to combat climate change by creating a more resilient, efficient, and cleaner power grid, as well as encouraging commercial and private adoption of electric/hybrid vehicles, and other similar work. I want to make a meaningful impact on the world by ultimately getting a job in those industries, which requires earning a BSE in electrical engineering. I want to devote the rest of my career to combatting climate change and improving life for everyone on the planet through working in power electronics and power systems, or related areas of electrical engineering.
