Shine Your Light College Scholarship
Dear Scholarship,
I am passionate about improving mental health because we all need it, directly or indirectly, for life. My experiences with mental health and community health have influenced my beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations in the most unanticipated ways! I have immediate and extended family struggling with mental health. It is abundantly evident that we strive to remove triggers and reduce or remove current triggers.
One of my beliefs is that mental health and community health is very complex in that there is no one size fits all. The perception of what mental health is or should be may be quite skewed. Having multiple family and friends from multiple generations with mental health challenges has enforced the concept that it is indiscriminate and may manifest from mild to severe depending on the individual.

Bold Giving Scholarship
Dear Scholarship,
I believe giving is sharing. The COVID-19 pandemic encouraged me to give more time keeping people healthy. This includes giving time to educate and support physical health awareness and mental health awareness. For example, educating communities all around the world may positively effect all of us. Conversely, I have witnessed mental health challenges have a negative impact on relationships. For example, my sister endures mental health challenges inundated with triggers. Witnessing mental health degradation of a loved one is heart wrenching! I suggest sharing positive and joyful moments with those we care about as treatment. I have found this suggestion to be most uplifting for me in addition to uplifting those I may interact with.
Mental health, in addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, has detrimentally impacted not only Americans, but people all over the globe. My chosen approach to fight for humanity is pursuing a Masters of Public Health (MPH). Pelipost Overcoming Adversity Scholarship
Dear Scholarship,
My experiences with mental health have influenced my beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations in the most unanticipated ways!
One of my beliefs is that mental health is very complex in that there is no one size fits all. The perception of what mental health is or should be may be quite skewed. Having multiple family and friends from multiple generations with mental health challenges has enforced the concept that it is indiscriminate and may manifest from mild to severe depending on the individual.
My relationships with family and friends with mental health challenges has had a profound impact on how we interact. For example, my sister has had mental health challenges that are inundated with verbal and physical triggers that could ignite into a spontaneous fit of instant rage and conflict. To witness mental health degradation of a loved one to any degree can be one of the most heart wrenching situations one may encounter. It took many years of very challenging support to help encourage my sister to accept the medical attention she needed and required to steer her on the best road toward recovery of her sanity and her life. The very deliberate and enduring support for my sister’s adversity was finally achieved this past year which enabled her regain visitation with her son, reclaim her life, and re-engage with family.
I have observed numerous instances in which mental health, in addition to the COVID-19 pandemic, has detrimentally impacted not only Americans, but people all over the globe. This motivated me to want to do all I can to fight for humanity by supporting efforts to combat mental health challenges. My chosen approach to fight for humanity is pursuing a Masters of Public Health (MPH). Upon completion of my MPH, I will seek opportunities within the Department of Health and Human Services along with the World Health Organization.
My desire is to positively impact mental health worldwide on a global platform. The experience I hope to gain and the contributions I hope to make will be a large part of the support mechanism for me to eventually pursue a PhD in Epidemiology. I not only want to help humanity; I also want to inspire and teach those that come after me in hopes that we all will make this world a better place together.

My chosen professional healthcare field of interest is Public Health, which is why I’m pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all people around the world with no regard to age, sex, race, religion, or other. Bold Confidence Matters Scholarship
Dear Scholarship,
I think confidence is one's strong belief and conviction in what they are doing!
The COVID-19 pandemic has scared me in ways I had never conceived. My belief is that confronting what scares me head on may be my best option toward dealing with the unwanted after effects such as mental health. Having multiple family and friends from multiple generations with mental health challenges has enforce the concept that it is indiscriminate and may manifest from mild to severe depending on the individual. For example, my sister has mental health challenges inundated with verbal and physical triggers resulting in fits of aggression. To witness mental health degradation of a loved one to any degree can be one of the most heart wrenching situations one may encounter.

Bold Creativity Scholarship
Dear Scholarship,
My passion to apply creativity to the enhancement of life quality for all is what I believe matters most!
I believe mental health is complex and one size does not fit all. Perception of what mental health is or should be may be skewed depending on one's exposure or experience. Having family and friends with mental health challenges has given me an uncensored view of the wide range of severities.
Interacting directly with those with mental health challenges has had a profound impact on my study strategies so that I am now focused on developing solutions. For example, my sister has mental health challenges with verbal and environmental triggers resulting in spontaneous fits of aggression. Witnessing mental health degradation of a loved one can be most heart wrenching.

Social Change Fund United Scholarship
I envision a well informed Black community through comprehensive Health Education. Know who to properly care for one's self may be a first step in helping others do the same. Collectively, this collaborative effort may be practiced across the globe and serve well in the effort to protect us all. My plan is to complete my Master of Public Health (MPH) and joint with the World Health Organization. I believe deploying a global collaborative effort may be our best hope of sustaining and promoting an informed and unified Global Health Community. I plan to use my MPH to spread that know to all people regardless of social or economic status as all communities are part of the Global Health Community.
Bold Helping Others Scholarship
Providing health education to others is way to help others and my self. I subscribe to the philosophy that keeping others in the know of keeping them selves healthy may also contribute to keeping me and others healthy by arming people with the health knowledge that may prevent the spread of contagious germs similar to COVID-19. The hope is if individuals know how to protect themselves, they may also be protecting others.
Bold Know Yourself Scholarship
That which I have learned about myself over my lifetime is that I have found value in the appreciation of others. Not just other people, but their costumes, traditions, experience, and perhaps more importantly, other perception - right, wrong, or indifferent. Being a grown up with a family with multiple children, it has been most interesting to observe what is valuable versus what others value in contrast to my own perceived values. My take away is perhaps one should continuously explore opportunities that may enrich or broadened ones view in hopes that one day true sight may become apparent without preconceived notions or bias.
Bold Wisdom Scholarship
We should learn how to better take care of and protect each other as one united global community! The reason is we all are a part of the global community, but some need a reminder or explanations of humanity.
