My name is Joanne Tayaban, also professionally known as DIYOSANA, and I consider myself a voice for the "in-between". I like to write music that speaks directly to the heart of the Asian American diaspora experience— raw, vulnerable, and deeply personal— capturing the contradictions of identity, relationships, and love, creating a soundscape where listeners can see themselves reflected. As an Indigenous Ifugao and Asian American immigrant, I've dedicated much of my time to fostering communities and leading organizations that amplify underrepresented voices, such as the Philippine Student Association and ASEAN at Berklee College of Music. My mission is to continue telling the stories of my community through music and media, showcasing its complexities and beauty.
