My name, Joanna. One thing that defines me from others, to be misread by teachers, to being yelled at by my parents, or by the nicknames whom my friends call over. Behind that though, I was just a girl who enjoyed arts and crafts, and soon my roblox games. But my sympathy stood out, “God is gracious,” the bible stating the meaning of my name. I’m the pushover, the overly too nice girl, but at the same time all of whom I wanted to be was someone who is able to give a blessing to someone who may need it. I would look outside my car window, seeing helpless people beg for some change or any help in the world. I’ll pull out my wallet to scramble for some sort of change, begging my parents to pass the change forward, passing a blessing from one person to the other. Seeing those smiles or gratitude and thank you warms my heart. The heart that makes me and the value of my name. Beyond my schooling and work, I always make time for my hours of volunteering, the time I spend disturbing food to low income families to agreeing to help my family with their relatives. My kindness comes from the great deeds from my hand, the shed of tears rolling down my face, and to which name my parents have given me. A gift not solely from God but to my community.
