Technology is an immense part of this generation and growing up with a lot of participation in STEM-related activities and classes, I know it contributes a lot to our everyday life. What we don't realize is how big of a role women played in creating this advanced generation. One of the most significant women in history, at least in my opinion, is Ada Lovelace and her invention of writing the first computer programme. This might seem insignificant now with our high-tech lives, however, I believe people need to recognize the revolutionary influences that allowed the world to become as advanced as it is today. Ada Lovelace was the first to realize the full potential of a "computing machine," especially in the aspect that it could be used for more than just math calculations. Though her discovery didn't attract much attention in her lifetime due to the extreme gender inequality, looking back, I think people should give her the credit she is due for creating the start of countless technological advances. Ada Lovelace inspires me because she built the foundation of what led to so many new and improved computer programs for the future. Computer programming allowed the world to make individualized instructions for computers that would enable them to execute writing and testing code. These codes are responsible for the success of software programs and applications. Ada Lovelace's creation of coding made a way for humans to talk to computers and convey tasks for them to complete. Computer programs are capable of helping people do specific jobs, complete certain tasks, organize data, optimize system performance, and so much more. It is inspiring to see this one singular invention be adapted to help people in all fields of life. This technology can help people in various situations and circumstances. By applying this technology to your life, individuals can accomplish so much more and we have Ada Lovelace to thank for that.
