WinnerBio
I am a first-generation student in the College of Arts and Sciences, triple majoring in History (World History), Latin American Studies, and Hispanic Studies, with minors in Africana Studies and Native American & Indigenous Studies. My studies provide me with the opportunity to explore and ask questions about the impacts of colonialism on Indigenous and Black bodies across Abya Yala. As a Kichwa Kañari warmi, I am deeply passionate about language revitalization and hope to publish more information on Kañari material culture. I aspire to pursue a career in immigration law to help Indigenous peoples who are facing dispossession from their native lands.
