Bio

Hello! I'm Jevonna, I’m a midwifery student, apprentice, and mother and wife, deeply committed to holistic, compassionate, and community-centered care. My journey into midwifery is rooted in personal experience, resilience, and a deep desire to walk alongside families during some of the most sacred moments of their lives. I believe in honoring birth as a powerful, physiological, and spiritual event. With a background shaped by overcoming adversity—including childhood trauma and homelessness—I bring empathy, strength, and purpose into every space I enter. I’m passionate about serving underserved communities, and advocating for respectful maternity care. Currently pursuing my midwifery education while homeschooling my children, I’m working toward the long term goal of opening a birth center that offers accessible, culturally humble, trauma-informed care. I envision a world where every birthing person feels seen, heard, and empowered—and I’m committed to helping build that future.

    • Dream career goals:

My long-term career goal as a community midwife is to partner with another like-minded midwife and open a birth center that feels like home—warm, welcoming, and rooted in trust. We want it to be more than just a place to give birth; we want it to be a true resource hub for families, especially those who are often underserved or overlooked. Eventually, our dream is to transition the center into a nonprofit, so we can bring in more support, funding, and services for our clients—things like lactation consultants, mental health resources, childbirth education, and postpartum care. It’s about building a village where every family feels seen, supported, and empowered, regardless of their background or financial situation.
