I plan to live a successful life and create a beautiful family in the future. Going to college will help me achieve my goals by giving me the education in order to live the life I have wanted since I was a little kid. My parents and siblings have set great examples on what it is like to work hard and I will continue the family legacy until the day I part this world.

I have done a lot of thinking recently and I would like to continue my educational and athletic career at Lawrence Technological University. I have visited the campus and it is amazing. Very modern and beautifully designed from the outside. Also, it is located in the city of Southfield, MI which is also designed wonderfully. I have looked into the engineering program and from what I have read, they are one of the best engineering schools in Michigan. Also, I got the opportunity to practice with the LTU soccer team and they were very welcoming. I like everything about this school, but it would cost me around $30,000 a year to attend. Neither me nor my parents have enough money to afford that and I would really appreciate receiving this scholarship. From what I know, LTU is where I fit in, but the cost of attending is holding me back. Not to mention that this year’s FAFSA has been pushed back, so I really have no idea how much money I am truly working with. All I can do right now is fill out as many scholarships as I can and pray. I am very thankful for what I have, but attending this school is just impossible without the money.
Now, the benefits that it would have for my future are amazing. First, if I were to win this scholarship, I would be $1,000 closer to my dream of attending LTU. I know it is where I would enjoy attending, but again, money is needed. Second, the engineering degree that I would be receiving would allow me to find a job in a simpler manner and at a higher starting salary. After graduating college, I would love to start a big family and turn them all into great people. I really like kids and starting my family is something that I am already thinking of at 18 years of age. Third, the disciplines and life lessons that I would learn at any college, not just LTU, would help me reach my max potential as a person. I believe soccer is a sport that teaches you discipline and how to lose. Those two things are crucial when it comes to life. Yes, you are going to lose, but you have to be disciplined and get back up. The final reason is that my parents made a very risky choice by coming to this country. They had nothing in Mexico, and they had nothing when they got here. The reason they moved to America is for a better future for me and my siblings. I am not going to let this opportunity go to waste and I will make my parents proud. Thank you for taking me into consideration.
