Trades Make the World Go 'Round
Choosing industrial engineering was a practical decision for me. I wanted a stable job that would make life comfortable, and I preferred working indoors. Growing up with immigrant parents who faced financial struggles, stability became crucial. Industrial engineering seemed reliable, providing a steady job without the challenges of working outdoors.
The idea of a comfortable life without compromising on personal values attracted me to industrial engineering. It's a field that focuses on improving processes, offering an intellectually engaging job without physical discomfort. This was important to me as I aimed for a profession that balanced professional satisfaction and personal well-being.
The promise of a successful career was another factor. Industrial engineering isn't just a job; it's a pathway to a dynamic profession. I saw it as a chance to contribute to industries, grow in my career, and achieve both personal and financial success.
Coming from a background where my parents struggled financially, having a stable income and owning a home became significant goals for me. Industrial engineering, known for good salaries and growth opportunities, seemed like the right choice to reach these goals. I wanted to break free from past financial constraints, creating stability for myself and future generations.
In a nutshell, choosing industrial engineering is about me seeking stability, comfort, and a promising future for me and my loved ones. It's not just a job but a deliberate step toward creating a life that balances financial stability, job satisfaction, and the fulfillment of dreams beyond past limitations set by my financial situation.
Rogers Family Award for Grit
I chose industrial engineering to study because I thought of a job that I could do that looked interesting and also a job that would not be obsolete I could see myself doing it for the rest of my life. I also chose this career path because I wanted a high-paying job that would be able to support me in life. I also chose this job because It was a desk job I have seen my whole family work as construction, and painters and I have also seen how physically demanding the work they do is. I chose this job so that I could make a good living and not have to work a McDonald's and also to say that I went to college to my family. As the first person in my family to go to college and get a degree is the reason I chose my career.
I see Myself working in five years in the field that I studied. To save up for a house, pay off my car, and help out my family with whatever I can. It's really hard to say what will happen in five years but can hope will happen in five years I hope to have a degree in industrial engineering and a good job and a good work environment. In five years maybe I will return to school and further my education because there is always something new you can learn to add to your resume to get you paid better. In five years I hope to see that all my hard work has paid off And that I am getting paid a good amount.
