My life was changed by Mrs. Angela Thompson my science teacher in the eighth grade and I can still clearly recall that day. I was having trouble with the subject in the middle of the school year. Despite my best efforts to understand the material I was unable to do so and felt overwhelmed and disheartened. I was asked to stay behind by Mrs. Thompson one day after class. I was told that she thought I had potential and that if I worked hard she would support me in becoming successful. Things started to make sense when she started providing me with extra tutoring after school. Her perseverance and commitment were admirable. She instilled confidence in me in addition to teaching me science. Even at my lowest moments she never gave up on me instead she patiently explained things in a way that made sense to me. Not only did I ace my science class that year but I also fell in love with the subject. I had the impression that a whole new universe of opportunities had become mine. I became inspired to become a teacher after meeting Mrs. Thompson. I came to understand the influence educators have on the lives of their students. Helping others realize their potential and accomplish their objectives was something I wanted to do. I feel motivated and excited for the future when I consider that I will be able to encourage and support students in the same way that she did for me. My goal is to establish a supportive and upbeat learning atmosphere where each student feels important and capable of realizing their potential. Adversity is something I have experienced firsthand. I had to get used to a new school make new friends and adapt to a new environment when my family moved to a new city. Although difficult I learned how to be resilient from it. I discovered my own strength learned to adapt and became receptive to new experiences. That was challenging because the move also meant leaving behind my childhood friends and comfortable surroundings. But eventually I settled in at the new school and made new friends. It took a lot of effort for me to get over my fear of failing and issues with self-confidence. I almost gave up a few times but I forced myself to keep going after reading Mrs. Thompsons words. My character has been bolstered by these experiences in numerous ways. They have instilled in me the value of diligence tenacity and self-belief. Theyve demonstrated to me that everything is achievable with the correct attitude and help. I keep these lessons in mind as I proceed through high school. Im aware that there will be more obstacles to overcome but I think Im ready for them. I intend to teach my own pupils these lessons in the future. Helping students realize their potential and develop self-confidence is my goal as a teacher. My goal is to establish a classroom atmosphere that inspires students to learn and makes them feel safe and supported. precisely as Mrs. Thompson assisted me.
